  1. Max Payne - 4/10 Lot of pish, wasn't really expecting anythin great from it but it was pretty dreadful. The Rock 8/10 Good action film, plenty of shootin etc Even Nicholas Cage is pretty decent in it. Million Dollar Baby - 9/10 had it in the DVD collection for ages and finally got round to watchin it tonight, utterly fantastic. I was utterly engrossedfor the last 45 mins or so. Everyone in it is fantastic.
  2. Is that not the general idea with the Mafia and gangsters in general??
  3. Rock n Rolla - 8/10 Pretty good british gangster film, usual Guy Ritchie affair. Enjoyable and a few laughs throughout. Chocolate - 3/10 CHinese martial arts film from the people that made Ong-Bak (which Ive not seen). Ended up switchin it off after 45 mins, terribly made film, seemed to be shot in the styles of a bad porno film and a daytime living tv movie. The martial arts bits were well done but I couldnt be bothered sitting watchin another 45 minutes of them.
  4. King Kong is a pretty easy 1000 points, not the worst game i've played either.
  5. Pretty much agree with that, I liked it but found it far too slow paced and was expecting alittle bit more (from the story line, not the acting).
  6. Watched it the other day, agree with above, cracking film. A bittersweet Life is another cracking Korean film that not many folk have ever heard about before if you interested.
  7. Just finished The Black Ice by Michael Connelly. Been enjoying his series of Harry Bosch books. Got the majority of teh set still to read. Started reading Marching Powder recently. Seems really good so far, its basically the true story of an English guy who gets locked in Bolivia for trying to smuggle Cocoaine out the country and his ecperiances in the Bolivian prison where prisoners have to buy there own cells and have their families move in with them. Very facinating book so far.
  8. My Name is Bruce - 5/10 Pretty average, not anywhere near as good as it could have been.
  9. Das Experiment - 8/10 German film about a group of 20 guys who sign up to an experiment to simulate a prison, 8 are made guards and 12 are the prisoners. Really engrossing films that has you sucked right in. From the same guy who directed Downfall.
  10. JCVD - 7.5/10 Any Given Sunday - 8/10 Planet Terror - 5/10 Layer Cake - 8/10 Walk Hard, The Dewey Cox Story - 6.5/10
  11. Master and COmmander: Far Side of the World 8/10 Good film with Russel Crowe in a boat.
  12. Watched a few films over the last few days Nightmare before Christmas - 7/10 Good film, considerin it is essentially an animated musical. Better than the Corpse Bride too Simpsons Movie - 6/10 Pretty average, not many laugh out loud moments or that, not a bad watch but nothing great. Disturbia - 8.5/10 Quality thriller with Shia Leboeuf, plenty of tension and a very good watch. Oh and the burd in it is smokin hot!!!!
  13. I am Legend-6.5/10 Had read the book a few months ago and finally got round to watchin the film tonight. The book is much better with a much better story. The film has changed alot and just basically uses the same scenario as the book, thats about all they have in common. Not a bad film, but not great either.
  14. [Rec] - Has spanish sub titles but is shit scary.
  15. That'll be 'The Lives Of Others" for us non-german speaking people. Agreed tho, it is a quality film.
  16. Went to the cinema earlier today and saw: Tropic Thunder - 2/10 Probarbly one of teh worst films I have seen for along time. The 2 marks are for Robert Downy Jr and some of his one liners. Jack Black and Ben Stiller were both really annoying and not at all funny. Didn't enjoy this at all, it was so bad infact that I left after an hour and went to watch Appaloosa -8/10 Very good western film with Ed Harris and Vigo Morttisen. Great chemistry between the two lead charcters and a good few one liners that you wouldn't expect. Dragged on slightly towards the end but it was a very good film despite havin Renee Zellwigger in it!!!
  17. Being John Malkovicj - 7/10 Bought this film about a year ago and have just got round to watching it. The film is quite strange to say the least and had the potential to be a terrible film. It is however a pretty good film that throws up a few laugh out loud moments towards the start then gets a bit darker as thefilm goes on.
  18. The Shining - 6/10 Can't say I was overly impressed by this film despite all the hype. Jack Nicholson is very good in the film tho. The main problem is I don't think I got the film to be honest. At first I thought it was just a case of there being ghosts in the hotel and Jack Nicholson going crazy and killing his family. But then at the end it has the photograph with Jack dated 1921, also during the film Jack Nicholson is told that he has always been the caretaker, so whats the script????? Also what is the deal with room 247, sems like there should be more of a story to it with the black guy being scared of the room aswell but the film doesnt really explain anything about it. Discuss...........
  19. Watched a few films over the last few weeks Scarface - 8.5/10 Just finished watching it for the 1st time, a very good film. Al Pacino is shit hot in it. Hides its age well considering its 25 years old. Heat - 8.5/10 Another good film with Al Pacino, except this time he's the good guy, De Niro is also superb in it. Blood Diamond - 8/10 Good film, enjoyed it alot. Djimin Houson (guy from Gladiator) is very good in it. Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanemo Bay - 3/10 I wish they hadn't escaped going by what I watched of this film. Quite enjoyed the 1st one but switched this off after bout 45mins, A bit pish. Flags of Our Fathers -7/10 Wasnt what I was expecting really, I thought it was going to be a typical war film ala Private Ryan, but its more to do with the story of the guys after they return back to America, with flashbacks to when they were fighting. Not a bad film by any means, just not what I was expecting. The Freightners - 6.5/10 Comedy / Horro with Michael J Fox, only picked it up because it was cheap on HD-DVD, nothing perticulary special about it but worth the watching. This Is England - 9/10 Another tremendous film by Shane Meadows, equally as good as Dead Mans Shoes although not quite as action packed. Alot of good performances considering alot of the cast arent professional actors/actresses.
  20. This Is England - 9/10 I know it has bee nreviewed on here numerous times but it is a tremendous film. Shane Meadows knows how to make a film. Great story, great characters, great film.!!!!
  21. Is it The Forgotten, with Julianne Moore??? Terrible film, turns out theres aliens and all sorts t odo with it. Very Stupid film.
  22. In Bruges - 8.5/10 Very good dark comedy about 2 hitmen and a midget in Bruges. COlin Farrell is pretty good in it but reminds me of father dougal out of father ted alot in this movie.
