  1. Let's hope big Graham misses out on that game, or we're a goal down before we start. Nice if Tiffoney could miss it as well. Looks on fire at the moment.
  2. Dundee, at the moment, wouldn't appear to be overly threatening. Today, at Cappielow, they had 2 shots, none on target. Morton had 5 with 3 on target. Must have been a breath taking watch.
  3. Could have written an almost carbon copy of this after every Ayr game this season. Today was classic Ayr. 21 shots, 8 on target, 2 goals. Lose a penalty goal in injury time, which fortunately was almost the last kick of the game. So 2-1 in a game which could easily have been 6 or 7 nil. Have to get a finisher, but thin on the ground.
  4. Dipo does miss a lot of chances. Quite often they are chances created by himself, as his all round play is excellent. We seem to say it every week, but he could easily have had a hat-trick today. See we had 18 shots, 9 on target, which is becoming our norm. If only we had a good finisher. Some harsh comments about Albinson. Didn't think he was to blame for either goal today, but would have to see them back. He certainly wasn't to blame for the Thomas goal at Ochilview. The official highlights had an excellent angle, and when the ball left his foot it was going about 2 yards wide of the goalie's left hand post. It then curled in to the top corner. A brilliant shot. Shades of Roberto Carlos, but without the velocity. The Hamilton first goal was almost identical.. The defence needs to be getting closer to these players when they cut back on to their right foot. On the bright side, it's unlikely the opposition are going to score worldies against us every game.
  5. Big Graham was excellent in the air. Second only to Dixie Ingram of Ayr players I've seen. He did on occasion also score good goals with his feet. One in particular against Forfar, a shot from the left corner of the box, right across the goalie into his top left corner. One of the best goals I've witnessed at Somerset. It was one of those, that if he'd tried it 100 times, he'd have scored once.
  6. Great comeback. Totally dominated 2nd half apparently. As the scoreline suggests.
  7. People go on about the negativity on the SRE page. They seem a bunch of Pollyannas compared to some on here. I can see where Tarbolton is coming from. "Happy clapper" as a term of abuse does seems to betray a sense of smug superiority in the user.
  8. Very unfair denied at least 3 by cracking saves, hit the wood work twice and wasted one chance he should have buried in his two games, I'd be more concerned if he was not getting in position's to score. Agree. Probably more to come from him. But for somebody not quite up to speed he still manages to get in a surprising number of shots. Was unlucky not to score 2 at the very least. The one that hit the bar was a belter.
  9. I've just paid my £12 for the stream for tonight's game. I presume it's available to away fans as well.
  10. Elgin apparently played twice as many pre-season games as us. It showed, specially 2nd half. If they'd like some championship experience in their team, maybe we could loan out Houston and McKenzie to them. They might even get a regular game if they show a wee bit of improvement.
  11. I know you like a little irony at times, and I assume that's why you included Houston and McKenzie. They might just get a game in League 2, but League 1 would be a big ask.
  12. Thought Musonda looked good. Very composed and some good passing. Goalie did nothing wrong, McGinty back to bombscare mode. Houston and McKenzie as crap as ever. Gives us zero threat down the right. Hard to judge the rest as I was watching the totally crap stream. Like watching the game from outer space. Hadn't a scoobie what was going on on the North Terrace side. At least we got a point.
  13. Blue or red both tories Nonsensical statement. Much as it pains me to admit a Killie fan can be right about anything, RugbyPark is correct in this instance. Cathy Jamieson is well to the left of wee Nick. Almost Corbynista, but not quite. Having said that, referring to itzdrk as a “thick twat” and calling the SNP a cult, were both a tad unnecessary.
  14. Not just any uni team. Apparently the best university team in USA at the moment. So not exactly a bunch of numpties.
  15. Early 1990s, 3-1 down at Cappielow with about 10 minutes to go. We bring it back to 3-3 with about 4 mins to go. We keep hammering away and Morton can’t get out of their own half. Then, in the last minute, a pass is rolled across the edge of the box and our captain Ian McAllister comes steaming in at full speed, connects perfectly and sends a rocket into the top corner. Euphoric.
  16. Did we not then go 2 up playing with 10, before imploding and losing 3 goals in the last 8 minutes. A day of infamy.
  17. McAdams was a bit unlucky with the first Dunfermline goal. Slow to dive, but he lost his footing when he did. Much more culpable for the second, where he showed an appalling lack of technique. Proper coaching should be able to iron out this problem he seems to have with shots from distance. Other areas of his game are in better shape, including his handling of crosses. He should command his area better, but that will come with experience. He’s saved us more points than he’s cost us. Just a pity one of his worst errors happened in such a vital game. Such is the life of a goalie. No wonder they say they’re all mad.
  18. In Ugwu’s second assault on McAdams, not only does he put a hand over his face, his arm also slips briefly round the back of his neck. (8.26 on GMTV video). “Headlock” might be a bit OTT given its brevity, but it did coincide with the ball squirting out of the goalie’s hands. Tbf, it's probably the hand over his eyes that was McAdams' major problem, as he had to guess where the ball actually was. To give Ugwu his due, it was quite neatly done, and I'm surprised Roncone actually spotted it given his general level of performance.
  19. Looking at the highlights, it’s perfectly clear that the ref got all 3 chalked off “goals” correct. For the first Ugwu simply clattered into the goalie without touching the ball himself. Seemed to stick his elbow into the goalie’s chest and had an arm across his face. He might also have handled the ball, not sure. Also, for good measure, he simultaneously almost had Muirhead’s shirt off his back. If you’re going to commit a foul, might as well go the full Monty. For the second, again he didn’t touch the ball but had the goalie in a brief headlock just as he was about to catch the ball. Quite hard to spot in real time, but the ref had a clear view. Big Ugwu clearly likes to put himself about a bit, which is admirable (within reason). For the third, the guy who headed the ball back to the “scorer” was yards offside. Linesman’s flag went up immediately he touched the ball. For Ayr’s goal, an opponent has no obligation to get out of the road of the goalie. You see this sort of thing in almost every game.
  20. Contrary to the Dodds opinion, Tomi’s goal wasn’t really a lucky deflection. He ran into a good area as soon as McKenzie got possession, and his left knee moved towards the ball just in time to nudge it into the net. Why would any striker be embarrassed by doing two things correctly to score a goal. I could see why the ICT scorer might be a bit sheepish about his goal. Total fluke. Some of Dodd’s comments were fair enough, but naturally a bit biased. He’s under a lot of pressure from ICT fans at the moment. He seems to come away with the same line every game, basically, “we wuz robbed”. In my totally unbiased opinion (ha ha), there wasn’t much in it, but I thought we just about deserved it on the 2nd half showing.
  21. McGinty’s been captain at most clubs he’s played for. He’s clearly got leadership qualities. He’s generally very good in the air, but he seems to mentally switch off several times a game. Plus he’s very one footed. It’s not just one foot being stronger than the other. It’s the right foot being virtually non-existent.
  22. Factor in Graham’s obligatory goal against us and McGinty’s obligatory brainfart to concede one, and we have to score at least 3 for the win. Can’t see it. Might just scape a 2-2.
  23. Did he lob it or chuck it? What was the correct procedure anyway? Leave it lying on the pitch or chuck it in the back of the net.? Both obvious health and safety issues. Can be lethal that 3 ply stuff. Classic blazer episode this. They just love this kind of stuff where they can get off on some kind of power trip. If I was of a conspiratorial frame of mind (heaven forfend) I would wonder why this happened just days before what is probably our most important fixture to date. I demand a judicial inquiry.
