If I could be bothered right now, I'd just quote one of the many posts I made over the last year where I said that I felt the management were not getting the best out of the players we had.
I haven't changed my mind at any point. It’s why I get so annoyed with all the calls to chuck Allan (and others) on the scrapheap. He's a quality player that the management aren't getting the best out of.
Allan was a quality player, not any longer, made one contribution of note last season, one, would suggest he thinks he wouldn’t get the same money elsewhere, probably thinks he’ll retire at the end of the season, so sits on our bench, no bothered whether he plays or not, collecting his wedge, of course this is only my personal opinion
or Johnstone Burgh appear to have wads of cash, maybe they will swoop in and put Scott Allan’s time at Gayfield out of its misery

Finally, once again, I have to question why Scott Allan has literally become our last pick of all our outfield players both today and last week, with 5 subs on ahead of him. Throughout both of these games we've struggled to string two passes together and keep the ball for any length of time. We have much better forward players this season than last, and we've given them basically no service so far in the league games. Scott Allan struggles with various aspects of the game, but the two areas he's miles better than anyone we have are picking out a pass and ball retention. In our first few pre season games we seemed to be looking at playing him as a ball playing sitter in midfield, and he looked a lot fitter, we were holding the ball and knocking it about and we had possession far more. My worries of several weeks ago that if we didn't play Scott Allan we wouldn't be seeing a lot of the ball and would be whacking it long the vast majority of the time have grown considerably.
Far more negatives than positives today (although there were a few of them as well) and really frustrating. However, it's games against the other teams in the bottom half that'll make or break our season, not ones at the top end such as we've played today and last week.
The Scott Allan question is easy for me, it’s obvious the manager doesn’t see him as a player for a scrap, tbh I don’t see where he fits into the team
but you are right, we do have to take points of the teams about us

What’s the deal with the fake crowd noises on the speaker from the director’s box side of the pitch? Absolutely fried me the whole game
Wait till the lack of atmosphere, when there’s a 1000 in big Hampden

We do have a few new players so it was never going to click straight away. Thought he got the team just about right today, we need to see how we look at the end of the window and at least after 10/12 games before talking about changing managers etc.
Next week looking like a big game already.
It obvious, even to you, that, this argument doesn’t fly, we needed a LB, agreed, surely, the almost desire not to go for a hard tackling defensive centre mid
oh and to wait a dozen games before changing the manager, if we have a terrible start, would be an act of self harm

But but but we’re a squad of kids…
Surely we couldn’t compete with such physical specimens in Arbroath ?
I’m not joking but that’s probably one of the most one sided games I’ve seen QP involved in for a long time. Would of been a travesty had Arbroath took anything from that
All round we were superb and a goal was nothing less than Paton deserved. He was outstanding today, as was Dom Thomas who was up against a right back that played like he was dragged from the stand to fill in
Also Jack Spong might be the best footballer in the world. Absolutely faultless in the middle of the park
This QP side are no mugs again this season
I had my doubts when I seen some Arbroath fans say they have a squad that would be incredibly competitive in this league. Today reinforced my doubts by x100. They looked awful everywhere. Bird looked hopeless up top. I worry the bubble might have burst now for Dick
Right, you’re obviously that guy, can’t just enjoy the result, you’re not saying anything about us that we don’t know, now, go and enjoy you’re evening, while we wallow in self pity
thank you

I've backed DC up to now and thought he had earned the right to get us out of trouble last season, which he did. But coupled with last season and our poor cup performances (bar one game) and our poor start to the season i think we have won one competitive game in about our last 8 or 9 games which isn't on. Also the left back debacle is bordering on criminal. Thanks for the memories DC but we need new blood leading the team.
18 minutes ago, keptie said:Yeah, i'll give him that also. Hope he proves me wrong but i just have a real bad feeling about our situation.
I’ve been reticent to call for the managers head, but that is now 4 transfer windows in a row, that has been poor, I said before that I thought, the lack of a LB signing as an act of vandalism, I also find his obsession with small centre mids as baffling, tbf, we should be looking to get rid of Allan, Jacobs and one other, club has money, we need a complete “b*****d” in centre mid and left back, everyone knows this, if we do not address this, we are doomed
its win or bust for Campbell next week, anything else, he is out

I don’t think it’s unreasonably to say we could be sitting at 3-0 or 4-0, we’ve just been guilty of overplaying which seems to have been the story so far this season. Good first-half for QP.
You can say that again

I’d take Dow out. Give Balde a run on the right where he played for East Fife. Gold, Slater, McKenna and Hylton as the 5.
No sure on Hyltons defensive qualities, defo 3 in the middle

Would bring in McKenna and Stowe for Balde and Mcintosh. Still feel Stewart is probably just about the best option at LB for now
Suppose Dow coming across to the left side, might give the LB a bit more help, where to you see Hylton playing?

Vics are playing Lochee Utd tomorrow, at home, apparently

If we could just sign a left back to play left back that’d be great
Where’s the fun in that

Play 3 at the back with Stewart and Dow as wing backs, 3 in central midfield, a no10 and Bird up front, we might be a bit less open with 3 in central midfield

If we don’t have a LB in by Saturday I’d rather we went 3 at the back.
Agree with this, Goldie or Dow to play left wing back, Scotty on the right

Just give me a fucking left back. Honest to f**k how is Scott Stewart still there, surely the first priority when the window opened was one.
21 minutes ago, lichtie23 said:I can’t believe people are defending the management team for the left back situation. As LichtieKev said this should have been sorted out long before now. Now looking less and less likely we will have one in before Saturday
Surely this wasn’t the only LB, we were looking at

EXCLUSIVE! Partick Thistle make late loan swoop for Aberdeen left-back Kieran Ngwenya (Daily Record).
It’s ultimately up to Aberdeen where he goes, he will go where he can get most playing time, when is he contracted to?

Harry Milne is going to play every week so why are Partick wanting him. He wouldn’t play but notice he’s Glasgow born so maybe thinking post Milne who will maybe be away after this year.
Doolan mon to f**k, thought you were sound
Unless there is a fee for him incoming

Remember when ICT didn't have Caledonian Stadium ready for the start of their first season in the premier league? They were forced to play at Pittodrie until they had played every other opponent an equal number of times.
Funny how these rules don't appear to apply when it comes to Glasgow clubs.

Injuries, suspensions, tactical changes? Hell, just giving him a chance? He's had one start this season as far as I can recall (?), where he looked absolutely fine.
Sorry, total waste of a wage, his best position is in the number 10, cannot play centre mid, hasn’t got a tackle in him, won’t start ahead of MacKenna or McIntosh, this isn’t his first season, to be foolish enough to think he has done anything to deserve a place in the 11, would be better getting him off the wage bill, instead of sitting on the bench, then using the money to entice a loan signing, who would help the side, and by the way, he can take Jacobs with him

It was clear at the Cowdenbeath game, that there was problems in centre mid and LB, but I thought like many, 1st game, we’ll learn, or enlist the proper personnel, but we have done neither
9 games is more than long enough to decide whether the manager is the right one, or not
