Surprisingly great result , great team effort, looked well organised for the first time this season. Mitchell save in the 91st min was outstanding, looked very assured from cross balls, something we haven't had for ages. Lyons , Howie & Rumsby were all solid, Goodwillie is getting fitter every week, good battling performance from him today, but what about Grant strolled through the game, another effortless performance for him. Really enjoyed the game , old school game with both stands being used, great away support today ( think they deserve more than they got from their team today )

Going to be a long hard season ahead, if today is anything to go by. We seem to be reverting to humping the ball up the park, to a lightweight target.

Mitchell looks a good keeper ( as long as he's stops punching balls that could be caught easily ) Duffie is a decent substitute , as much as I appreciate McNiff's efforts and goals last season, we need a LB pronto. Jury is out on Howie, far better last night , but Thistle attacked down the wings, still think we need another CB. Rumsby had a good game . Wallace was solid enough , Grant had a good game, Cuddihy is our right FB far more effective than he is in MF. Johnston great player, would like to see him playing No10 roll, wasted on the wing. Norway has the skills but far to weak, easily bullied off the ball. Goodwillie not fit yet. Thought Fitzpatrick looked decent when he came on. Hope DL has loan deals in mind , 2 or 3 in the right places we could have a good season in L1

Didn't the last time you played thistle in a cup competition it resulted in you getting your arses handed to you by our 19s in the challenge cup? The Clyde team that night was younger than the Thistle team ( apart from Smith & Marsh who had been injured and missed pre season ) the team was full of boys and not one first team player. Ferguson even played his own boy in midfield
