  1. He's also goalkeeping coach!?!? That must be an interesting lesson. 'So lads, here's how you shouldn't do it."
  2. Don't worry I've been at Cliftonhill far more often than the likes of Falkirk over the years, so know our normal place in the grand scheme of things. Might see you next year if you stay down. It was my opinion on Barry Smith as manager during his spell with us. He took over when we were in a good position, with a decent squad (albeit Hartley had done far better than expected that season), and was a whisker away from getting us relegated. The following season despite keeping most of that squad and adding Liam Buchanan, our results under him were even worse. We did far better with the same players both seasons for the periods he wasn't in charge, so I'd say he didn't do a very good job.
  3. Almost relegating us from a good position in the space of 15 games. 6 wins in 40 league games, 3 of which were against dreadful Morton and Cowdenbeath teams, one against ten man Falkirk and one against a Livi team bottom of the league at that time. Yep he was clearly doing a great job. The Hibs and Sevco results were rare bright spots in a year of mainly failure. We'd have swapped places with Cowden if he hadn't left.
  4. Smith was dreadful, yet in amongst all the crap performances and many defeats he managed wins against Falkirk, Hibs and Sevco. Danny gave the players a kick up the arse at the end of last season and we scraped through the play-offs. However he then had to rebuild the squad, a job he has done abysmally. Add to that his dreadful team selections and tactics and the only praise I'd give him is for resigning.
  5. He could crawl back in at right back. A wee loan request for Daryll Meggat please now and we might actually have some hope.
  6. Almost turned into a Cowden fans thread there! Glad to get Marr signed up, but a hell of a lot of work still to be done. Of the 8 signed so far 4 weren't good enough to claim a starting slot last season, Holmes had a poor season, McNeil is crap, and Flanny and Marr are excellent but very injury prone. Buchanan and Gordon next please gaffer.
  7. As we've lost most our games for 6 months, that will mean a few unexpected wins then.
  8. Hopefully a striker that has scored a goal in the last 6 months. Or even forced the keeper to make a save.
  9. Caddis was the exact opposite of our previous loan player from St Johnstone. He never looked interested and along with Ross Caldwell was a waste of the loan system. Astonishing that both of them look likely to be playing in the top division next season.
  10. The goals against column from last season really demonstrates how much better Cowden's defence were. They also only lost 7 goals to Alloa's all out attacking football.
  11. Plus Dunfermline are truly honking. They looked even worse than last year. Think 9th place could keep whoever finishes there next season up. Everyone should be stronger with the extra cash from the bigger crowds, and if the 1st remains the same standard as this season there could be at least 2 part-time teams staying up.
