  1. I'm still in shock from that game. Alloa had blown their promotion chances after going 8 games without a win, then pulled that result out the bag to say sorry to us with. Good as it was, there is only one 7-0 that really matters to us Wasps.
  2. Just underlines the absolute miracles Hartley achieved as manager with us. From 3rd division with one player to there in 2 and a half seasons with a squad that cost nothing.
  3. It's the more ambitious appointments that have been the worst over the last 12 years. Hartley, Ross and Goodwin were all first time managers, now compare what they were like to Smith, Lennon, Rice and Ferguson. Plus we all know you wanted Max Christie sobyoy could get a duffle coat back on.
  4. They have been dreadful at the games I've seen this season and by all accounts for most of the others. Rice has been an absolute bombscare this season with his signings, tactics, and team selections.
  5. Peter Grant lost his top scorer, best player, and an excellent loan centre half and midfielder in the summer. Then his captain and goalkeeper for a large part of the season. Add in the covid situation where the transfer market was limited and we were only a late winner at Arboath away from taking it to the wire that season. Brian Rice however has signed a load of players, shuffles them most weeks and has a greater resemblance to Bazza this season. Don't expect any change soon though as the man still in charge never acts swiftly when things are going pear shaped. Maitland, Smith, Lennon and Ferguson are all proof of that.
  6. The natural order is one home defeat every 14 years, not 14 days. The end is nigh!!
  7. Especially compared to League One veterans Falkirk.
  8. I spent most of the 2nd half panicking over that. Though in the end the biggest embarassment was Hogarth getting a clean sheet.
  9. In related news, the SFA have just announced a new badge for the national team.
  10. Judging by their performances for the Wasps, a roll on mince.
  11. Think that was about the only shot Dumbarton hit over the 2 games. Screamer of a goal though.
  12. Had it not been for a dodgy red card and a late wonder strike we'd be sitting with 4 wins in 5 and in persuit of 5th. What a difference a month makes.
  13. If that means Mendy no longer plays at centre half then he gets my vote.
  14. What were the odds on that? Hopefully he never knew.
  15. Us Alloa diehards know the signs of relegation more than any other fans in Scotland I reckon. Though on the plus side we've probably experienced the most promotions as well. Both are a good excuse to drink, so every cloud and all that.
  16. I don't think anyone is forgetting what the club has achieved over the last decade. However we are rightly concerned at Mike's reluctance to do anything when his decisions are wrong. No other club in Scotland would have persisted with Ferguson this long and would be looking to change things. Maitland's last season was the same, as he should have been replaced at least 2 months before he led us to relegation. Add to that both Smith and Lennon hung around for longer than their results merited. Surely sacking a poor manager won't look as bad on his SFA CV than sitting back idly whilst his club are relegated.
  17. Both Stranraer trips that season were glorious. Wee Kev's winner sparking bedlam behind the goals.
  18. It's gotten to the stage now that there is no real point in blaming the manager anymore. He was a poor choice and it's been obvious for months that he is not up to the job and is taking the club backwards and downwards. The pressure should be directed to the silent owner, who is responsible for the appointment and is the one who can do something about it. Apart from the utterly pathetic press interview before the Celtic game he has been the invisible man. Possibly time for him to put his ego to one side, admit his mistakes for once and do something about it. That's assuming the cheque from Premier Sports has arrived obviously.
  19. He's a modern day Derek Johnstone, useless at management but will always be perfect for a West of Scotland media pundit job to talk about the Old Firm. He'll not quit this job as manager as it would put his best mate back in his ice cream van.
  20. 4 weeks of a transfer window wasted on the wrong manager.
  21. It'll be great to have Ally back in Alloa. We all have such great memories of his last visit.
  22. Sounds like a plan, I'll get the scarf back out the cupboard. Sauchie to Saki.
  23. I wish I had your confidence in that Owen. He should have been punted already, especially as sacking him later gives a new manager no chance to change players until the summer. This is worse than Maitland's last season as at least he had us challenging for the title up until the new year collapse. If we do end up going down the blame rests with the chairman.
