  1. That`s one that mystified me as well. I expected him to come back after a loan spell at St Johnstone. Good player and a good lad. Wallner wasn`t interested, wouldn`t train properly and didn`t listen to instructions. That`s why he went.
  2. Stick to the same one every day. I head down past Carron roundabout go over the main road bridge over the carron, take the road to the kelpies. I used to go as far as the new bridge and back up via Allan`s motors but I only go as far as langlees park and double back the way I came. It means Ellie`s off leash for longer.
  3. How`s things BB, keeping the old camera well oiled I hope??
  4. Remember it well, I got a thorough soaking that day but it was worth it. Goals from Pedro... 2 from Barrett.. a cracker from distance from Thomson and one from Finnigan I`m sure.
  5. Going to be a rainy day in hell before we get back to having a team like that.
  6. Great wee player, I would love to see his type in our current midfield...apparently not good enough for certain sections of our fanbase though!!
  7. As I said, I`m not trying to change your opinion which you are totally entitled to and which some others will no doubt share. Likewise I`m not pretending everything was perfect but personally I`d give anything to have these days back, perfect or not, after the crap we`ve had to endure most of the time since (especially over the last 2 years)
  8. I worked with him for the whole time he was at the Club and I`m still in touch with him today. I know what went on in the last few months of his time there but there`s no way I`m going to put that stuff up on a forum. Plus I`ve absolutely no intention of trying to change your opinion or anybody else`s of his track record. I`m just trying to clarify a few points and redress the balance a bit. He loved his time at the club both as a player and as Manager and it still means a lot to him, I speak to many players from that period who consider it the happiest time of their career.
  9. I`m not quite getting your fixation with the quote...which he did say by the way, I know because I worked at the club during his time there and I`m one of the people he said it to. It wasn`t said in the way you are portraying it (like sour grapes) It was genuine concern because in his opinion Eddie couldn`t do the job. It turns out his concerns were founded.
  10. Well thank you for at least getting the quote right!! Most versions have him as saying "I`ve fcuked your Club" which I always found strange as he left us in the Premier and Europe. The quote was in reference to the Board & their appointing May as his successor....and he was right.
  11. Yes, you`re right of course. Always maintained I`d never get involved but had a temporary wobbly there.
  12. Things went on behind the scenes in his last season at the Club and he was let down badly by certain individuals. I`ve tried to maintain a silence on the subject but sometimes with the comments I read on here, it`s very difficult. One thing I can tell you, he still loves the Club with a passion.
  13. I seem to remember him signing around the time we had a Dewar shield match against Dundee (I think). I`m sure he played that night.
  14. Remember it well and the feeling of joy that he decided to stay. Great goal from Tam Young that night to kill off the Hibees. That was the round after we had put Aberdeen out 3-1
  15. I remember the 3-1 game in the Cup. One of the best nights ever. Seem to remember after Aberdeen went 1-0 up they were playing for offside everytime we crossed the halfway line. Geordie Miller kicked the ball high in the air, ran right through them and got onto the ball as it came down, if I remember correctly wee Tiger went with him and forced the ball over the line. A quick double from Fergie finished them off.
  16. I was 12 when my dad got me my first season ticket. I ended up sitting next to an old guy who used to lean on his walking stick and hurl abuse in every direction. Then he`d dip into his bag of toffees and offer everybody one... come to think about it, I`m probably not far off his age now. One of the first things that impressed me was the "Brockville stamp". The sound of all those feet clattering on the wooden floor was very intimidating and certainly couldn`t be replicated now on the concrete. Yes, there`s a lot to miss about the old place. It`ll be a sad day when there`s no-one left to remember it. I sat in that seat for around 25 years and finally gave up my season to go down to the terracing and pick my games during Dave Clark`s reign. Regretted it ever since. I bags Section B. Row I .seat 24.
  17. Spot on and sums up my feelings exactly. Well said sir.
  18. I was in touch a couple of days ago and he was doing fine then.
  19. Games were covered before that. Can`t remember the season it started but we certainly filmed highlights from the Dutch tour in 2007. I would imagine the Ajax friendly was recorded too??
  20. They were great games played in all conditions, my team were mostly Kemlin boys and we usually played against guys from within walking distance of the Bleachfield. Talking about crunching tackles, I remember the ambulance getting called one game after a tackle that resulted in a broken leg!! Were you there that day?
  21. I played there regularly on a Sunday afternoon in the early 70`s also. Maybe we were in the same side???
  22. Was it him who took the worst corner in the history of football when we were first up at TFS last season? Also scored a decent goal against QOS in a rare 3-0 win last season.
  23. Got to agree, George did ooze class. Made it look easy. Add a little pace to his game and he would have played at the top level.
