  1. I had one lunge at us last summer while out running. It bit us slightly on my hand and broke the skin so I had to go get a tetanus shot. I was stupid enough to run straight at the dog and its owner so obviously seen me as a threat. I usually try run as far round them as I can even if that means running on the road to pass them. There are usually loads of dogs down at strathclyde for the parkrun and I've never had any bother there. There is usually a few folk that run with their dogs would love to do that with my dog but she's too old now. Another 10 seconds of my pb at the strathy parkrun this morning .
  2. I started running round a local park which is really quiet usually just a couple of dog walkers. That way there was nobody about to see us struggling to run a 100 metres or trying to cough up a lung. Once it got to the stage were I could run a couple of miles I started running round the streets/roads. Now I couldn't care if anyone spots me when I'm out running. I've even had a couple of guys shout "keep going son" or something similar while out running so its not all bad. I've also had a group of youngsters start running behind us was like that scene in Forrest Gump. As for running with music for months I couldn't run without it but I stopped a month or two back and started to notice an improvement in my times. I find it easier to keep the same pace when you can hear your breathing etc. whereas listening to music I would run at the tempo of the song so was all over the place.
  3. We are setup as a CIC now each member has one vote so it would take our own fans to vote in favour of becoming a Ranger Newco so they can scrub us off the list of potential targets. We are only a couple of years away from repaying all our debts at which point we should hopefully start climbing the leagues. Our wage budget is pratically zero just now with everything going towards the debt repayment.
  4. Am not surprised giving some of our performances over the last few seasons.
  5. Would have to go with big trouble in little China as my fav Carpenter film hence the user name but I really like the original thing as well. The prequel is alright and certainly could have been a lot worse. I like the way it ties into the original with everything from the axe in the wall to the two face creature but In some ways it is more of a remake with the story almost the exact same. In the prequel the thing shows itself at times which don't make sense. In the original it was much more clever and only revealed itself if it was trapped or had a decent chance taking somebody over.
  6. Don't have the figures to hand but I wouldn't have thought Celtic have spent anywhere as much on transfer fees during that spell? Rangers blew a ridiculous amount of money when adovcatt came in.
  7. We've already had this situation when rangers were hoovering up all the trophies in the 90s. Yet attendance were much the same then as they now. We've also had times when the telly deal was shite when the games were shown on BBC or when Sentanta went bust. We've also heard no word from sky to confirm the telly deal will change. It's not exactly a huge amount to sky anyway. Rosenburg won the Norwegian league for a ridiculous number of years but they were finally toppled.
  8. Avengers 9/10 I've not been that impressed with the individual films bar Iron Man but this is excellent. The story is quite simple Loki, Thor's brother, is trying to take over the Earth with an alien army but all the Avengers are great in it with them all given a decent length of time each in the film. The fight sequences are great and the some of the jokes are quite funny. Bascially the same review as Stimpy!
  9. Agree with the above two scores, I watched Stake Land a few weeks back and its a decent watch there has been plenty of films about vampires at the moment and I wasnt expecting much from it. Its a bit more realistic, well for a vampire film, and it has a post-apocalyptic feel which reminded me of the Fallout games a bit. It does fall down towards the end where it abandons what it has been building on to go down the route of "super" vampire which did ruin it a bit IMO. 7/10 Wrath of the Titans is just utter shite from start to finish, the first one was watchable if nothing special but this is garbage. You would think with all the stories and characters available in Greek mythology that they could come up with a decent story with a few decent battles/fights in it. Instead it throws about a dozen different characters into the film and starts off with the usual story of the Titans escaping from their prison, the same story as the recent Immortals film which at least had a couple of decent fights, but by the time the Titans are released there is only about 10 mins of the film left and Hades who has been on the side of the Titans switches sides with no real reason giving as to why. The minotaur and Bubo the golden owl from the original also make random appearances. 1/10. I also watched Margin Call recently, a film about a bank which realises just on the eve of the credit crunch that things are a bit to hit the shitter. Was surprised at the number of recognisible faces in this film and almost all of them put in a decent performance. 7/10.
  10. I've been sticking with the parkruns with 14 completed so far. Volunteered this weekend at Strathy parkrun, was one of the marshalls which was easy enough was interesting to see all the planning that goes into one of these. Got quite a lot of thanks from the runners on their way past which I must admit I've never thought of doing. Running 5k in around 31 mins now which is crap compared to the times on here but been knocking 10 to 20 secs off my time at each run.
  11. The same thing happened with Leed down south did it not? No CVA was agreed the club was dissolved and a new phoenix club was allowed to take the old Leeds league place. They started the following season with minus 15 points but they didnt have to start again in the bottom league.
  12. Went along to the Edinburgh parkrun this morning to meet up with a few guys from the work. Got round in 31.47 which is a new pb for me didnt see that coming after my poor time a starthyclyde the week before. Edinburgh is the easiest parkrun I've done so far also been to Falkirk and Strathy. Only got to run Glasgow to complete all the central belt parkruns. Edinburght is flat for the full 5k hence the pb only problem is the sheer number of runners was between 300 and 400 today. I started at the back and actually ran 5.06k so was a fair bit away from the start line wil no doubt quieting down was everyone gives up on their new year resolution.
  13. Yeah, thats the same problem I have with Shotts being such a small place there is really only one or two routes I can run at night. Have went out a run 4 days in a row now starting to see some improvements after taking the majority of December off.
  14. I went to the Parkrun on 4th Dec and then didnt run again until New Years Day. Its amazing how much fitness I've lost in only 4 weeks. Really struggled to get motivated to go out running during Dec the weather was horrible and I can see it being the same in Jan. Am going to start going out running during my lunch break to try some different.

    Dexter

I think the intern knows who Dexter is. Am not sure if he knows him as just the brother of the Ice Truck killer or if he is aware that he is the Bay Harbour butcher as well. Apparently all the lines he drew on the hand is basically a message saying I know who you are. Somebody posted up on the FaceBook page a description of what all the lines mean. The intern could easily know that Dexter is the Bay Harbour Butcher its not as if he covers his tracks well making phone calls from his mobile and work phone, investigating all the folk he is going to kill on his laptop and since the intern found all the leads to the Doomsday killer through IP address traces etc. he could have found some evidence linking Dexter to the murders. As for the ending.
  16. Dustbin Bestvina's hilarious OG against Alloa to put them 3-1 up in the First Division play-off. Watch from 1.25 min to see the goal Meanwhile over on P & B the Clyde relegation thread starts to gather pace http://www.pieandbov...egation-thread/

    Dexter

This season has been pretty poor compared to the first four but just like the poster above I still enjoyed watching it. The twists in this season were pretty obvious and at least the ending of the season means things should be a bit different going forward. It will be interesting to see where they go with the intern character who seems obsessed with Dexter. Dexter also seems to hardly kill anyone in this season as well. They always had the main serial killer who he squares-up against but you can go 3 or 4 episodes now without him bumping of a single bad guy.
  18. Went along to my 8th Parkrun at Strathclyde on Saturday, got a new PB 32.11, a whole 5 secs faster than the week before, the time for my first parkrun back in Sep was 36 minutes something. I had hoped to get a sub 30 min run before the year end but am struggling to get out during the week now with a combination of working late and it being dark, cold and wet in the evening. I got one of those Garmin watches which has helped us trim a minute of my time pretty quickly and it always seems to be the middle mile that I struggle in. I've been doing a bit of hill training as Shotts is full of them but bar that I've got a habit of just going out and running rather than sticking to a training plan. I went along to the Falkirk parkrun last Saturday, arrived in the car park at 9.25 and just got to the kiosk to see they had started the race early . Thats twice now I've missed the start of the Falkirk run!
  19. I bought the one in the link below about a month ago. This one will track your distance, pace and time, its ideal for me as where I stay there are no running tracks or parks etc. so it gives us the freedom of just going out and running rather than having to plot a route through Google maps. Its good for interval training as well as I was just really guessing the distance I was doing 200M, 400M etc. It has a heart rate monitor on it but I've never used it. You cant plot in any training programs in this one which is the only downside but the GPS works really well and I've not had any problems getting a signal and I've used it at a few of the Parkruns without any problems. Its good to be able to see what pace, time your doing, sometimes it spurs you on but other times I've looked at the watch and seen my pace or time is shite, it can be quite depressing! After your run you can download it to your computer and it will give you a break down of your run with graphs for time, distance, pace and other stuff. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-Mens-Heart-Rate-Monitor/dp/B003EGC47Y/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1319978884&sr=8-13 I was supposed to do the Falkirk parkrun yesterday but got lost, ended up missing it by a few minutes thats what I get for trying to cut through Bathgate rather than sticking to the motorways. I just done a quick run myself while I was waiting for my friend to finish, the course is a bugger compared Strathclyde!
  20. Strathy parkrun was a bugger this morning very windy ended up a minute slower than my pb. Everyone else I spoke to found it a struggle as well and I ended up a few positions higher than last week so not too disappointed. There was 4 or 5 folk running with their dogs even the small dogs made it look easy. Would like to my run with my dog but she's too old now and if I took her to Strathclyde she would head straight for the water!
  21. strathclyde is flat for the full 5k so a good run to get a pb. Only issues are it floods easy so parts of the course are muddy and there is about 4 water jumps around the 2.5k mark which you can either run in the mud to get round or just plough right through them. I run through them but ur feet end up soaking so ur best bringing a spare pair of socks. There can be a strong wind of the loch as well which is a pain at times.
  22. Was at the Strathclyde parkrun this morning, struggled big style as the hangover was just kicking in. One of my workmates ran the Strathclyde parkrun with us so am going over to the Falkirk parkrun in a couple of weeks, which is her local, just how bad is the hill at Falkirk?
  23. I started going to the Parkruns a month or so back which I have found to be pretty decent for somebody just starting off. It motivates you to go out during the week, especially now the weather is crap and its dark, in the hope of getting a PB the following Saturday. I'm pretty sure I would have chucked it by now if I hadnt started going.
  24. 33.15 on the parkrun this morning so around 3 mins quicker than last week. Am hoping to be running it under 30 mins on a regular basis before the end of the year.
  25. Aye that was me. Still planning on heading along on Saturday no doubt wearing another or the same Clyde top in case you are there and want to introduce yourself. I got there quite earlier last week so was just standing about like an eejit until the race started was still half a sleep the 9.30am start is a bit early for my liking.
