  1. Some interesting stuff on here in the last twenty-four hours.
  2. I don't think that's right. He's gone because he's a decent, honourable guy.
  3. I agree, but he doesn't want to be the manager.
  4. I agree about Shiels. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. The only one of the four you mention I'd be happy with going forwards would be Danny Lennon. I'd take Pressley to the end of the year. It might be that Paddy Connolly is the best bet to see us through the rest of the season.
  5. I'd just like to add a couple of things. Firstly, thanks to Barry for several of the performances against the three 'big teams' in the league this year, and of course the greatest win in our history - before and after which he was a credit to the club. Secondly, I wish him well for the future.
  6. I don't agree with that. The players have performed consistently well in relation to their ability, with the exception of Greig Spence, who hasn't properly applied himself for several months now. We haven't scored enough goals, pure and simple, and Barry didn't address this in January - and perhaps he should have addressed it before then. I'm not sure his leaving is a good thing or not.
  7. Not if he has a contract signed. I suspect the story isn't accurate.
  8. Froome would hump him. No contest.
  9. There was a one off opportunity to do that when the original club went into liquidation and the authorities didn't have the vision to take it.
  10. Best of luck to Darryl. As Waspie says, we've given our views a couple of pages back. Very much a defensive minded player.
  11. I saw Cav's win. A cracker, but Stannard's sounds even better. Didn't seem to be on Eurosport unfortunately.Paris-Nice starts at the weekend and Tirreno-Adriatico a couple of days later. Starting to hot up. eta Just read that Froome, Contador, Nibali and Quintana are all starting in Tirreno. Nice!
  12. I agree. He has genuine huge cash resources, which is exactly what the company needs most at the moment. I'm not sure anyone else has enough cash to plough in short to medium term. Maybe that's DK et al's plan?
  13. I was thinking more along the lines of being Dave "G S L" King's patsy. Hopefully you're closer.
  14. I can't believe how upset the Falkirk fans are about Loy going to Dundee.
  15. What do you expect him to do though? He's had a three year contract put on the table in front of him and asked to sign it. Why would he wait? Of course Dundee are going to want to announce it to their fans. I don't see that it's a big deal really.
  16. Loy has comfortably been Falkirk's best player against us these last two seasons. It remains to be seen of course how well he does with the step up. Hartley has a good signing record and, as importantly, a good record at developing players IMO. If Loy works hard enough and listens I think he can be a success in the Premiership. I know Loy wasn't a product of the academy, but Falkirk's record in recent seasons in producing quality young players must be second to none for a club their size.
