Are we starting to say that every time you accidentally impede an opponent it's a foul??
1 hour ago, VincentGuerin said:Yes. It is.
I fail to understand why there are thoughts it wouldn't be a foul, when an opponent is impeded.

Who are the 33.71% who voted yes for this shit show? Name names.
ETA scrap that, the list pops up.
Minter for them.
Had never bothered with that option before.
Lost a lot of respect for some posters there. Suspect a few are at it and noticed all the Old Firm posters who you know watch the fitba on the telly voted for it. nae surprise there.3 -
This is early. We usually don't get match threads until the day before. I think we'll struggle here. Need Killie to have an off day.

But it's also on the linesman's side of the pitch, and the ref's not far away. It should have been given as a foul in the first place. VAR is resulting in a lot of responsibility being passed on by the officials.
The whole thing is shite.
This.
I think Refs etc have taken their foot off a bit thinkin "if it's needing checked they'll tell me"
Shite as you said.0 -
There has been a lot of moaning about VAR recently for things I think it has got right. I want rid of VAR too mind you but using recent examples where it is correct is a bit contradictory.

This seems too decent to be true or in our range.

Luckily, Gent can fill back in there, Nicholson can play his role (I guess) so this might be awright-ish even though we miss out on Montgomery

I mean. Just get this season to utter f**k.

Funnily enough, I can't think of a recent success case of one of our players going south to an under 23s side. McKinstry, Leitch, McAlear and Hall are all playing at a lower level than Motherwell now. I'm not sure if I've missed any?
I am sure it's been mentioned before but of all the ones that got away (snapped up as youngsters or were let go) none of them have successfully managed their football at a higher level ( I don't think a similar level either)

We thought the same when we got relegated, different grounds and teams and a wee change of scenery, but in truth The Championship was utter shite.

Interesting. These seem to be the two tropes that are often spouted in our friend group when it comes to relegation possibility.

I like that the Greg Browning guy is just tweeting away like he didn't cause a riot recently.

I'm 40, fat, both my knees are gone and I have poor eyesight.
I doubt I'd be fit enough.
I'm also a shitebag so I'd not fight naw.0 -

Letting go of another striker (no matter how shite) and only having Bair and a crocked Obika on the books is a bold strategy.
Motherwell must be clearing the decks for at least one or two incoming.
Well it was delayed but they've arrived.
I reckon we've freed up a small fortune in wages with the ins and outs. Two decent strikers please.3 -

I think Sam Nicholson is a decent signing, always liked him when he played in the SPFL previously.
On general signings, I reckon we're looking at two forwards, leaving us with, Forward 1, Forward 2, Bair and Obika, if he ever gets fit. Can't see us offloading both Shaw and Obika in this window, reason we ended up with Shaw in the first place is we were so light up top and were scrambling for options.
IMO if we end up with the window closing have the following then it's a solid effort, especially given where we were:
LB - Montgomery
RB - Elliot
RB 2
CDM - Halliday
CAM/winger - Nicholson
FW 1
FW 2
I doubt we'd sign another RB, We've SOD in there and McGinn if needed.
Two forwards now needed I agree0 -

I had a swatch at YouTube last night:
I mean...fine?
I do mind him at Hearts, that was what? 10,9,8,7 years ago? I just hope he's able to play the weird 10/wing role in our 3 part of our 523.

I don't know much about Nicholson, I look forward to him playing in a weird position that doesn't suit him.
As for McGinley I don't think he wants to play football. Maybe lower league part time will suit him but if he signs then never plays I won't be shocked0 -

I don't think he's been away long enough to merit the sort of misty eyed romanticism that Moult coming back did.
KVV isnae completely broken so I will be all misty eyed at the thought he might be decent

I think we were only offered one section/stand for Morton. I am sure that was the same the last time.
On to the strikers...
I am getting twitchy to be honest. I fear we'll end up with "bodies" rather than something we want.
