  1. I don't see how that will work. The agreement with the SPL and SFL is the bottom team in the SPL is relegated at the end of the season, ie they resign from the SPL and join the SFL at Division One. That has happened: Dunfermline finished bottom and were relegated as per the the rules. How can Rangers now be "relegated"? If the SPL suddenly decides it can "relegate" anyone they please and at any time and force the SFL to accept their membership things would just be messy. I don't think Rangers can or will join Division One, if the football authorities thought the fans were mad now just wait til they try it.
  2. The SFA\SFL\SPL just seem hellbent on alienating fans of every 41 member clubs just to help out the one member club. Are the supporters of these 41 clubs so insignificant to the sport that they can afford to lose most of them in one fell swoop? If this level of gerrymandering continues the only stadium which will have any fans in it on a Saturday afternoon will be Ibrox. Ironic considering they're the team which has been liquidated.
  3. We were saying that about Rangers escaping with a CVA. Then we all said everyone would vote yes to newco in the SPL. If we just accept Rangers will be allowed into SFL1 without a fight, then it may happen, so let's not just accept it.
  4. Right, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm not saying another broadcaster could match it, but what I am saying is the SPL won't suddenly find it can't attract any broadcast partners just because Rangers imploded. Even a vastly reduced deal is more likely than no deal, but that's not factored in with the doom and gloom worst case scenarios.
  5. £900k is worst case though, really. Do you really honestly believe Sky and ESPN will both go "Thanks but no thanks" or do you think there would be a renegotiated deal instead? If both Sky and ESPN both just walked and lost interest entirely, do you think that the BBC, STV or maybe Premier Sports wouldn't be interested in a cut price deal? I can't believe this far down the line we're still persisting with the "Yeah, there will be a TV blackout of Scottish football without Rangers" myth. Nobody wants to cover Celtic matches? The Edinburgh derby? Really? Think back to the BBC years. The world didn't end back then.
  6. But it isn't though is it? Just because two clubs have announced they're voting no with over a week to go doesn't mean we should sit back and relax. We still need 3 more clubs to announce a "no" vote. Keep pestering your clubs!
  7. That headline really pisses me off. "Demoted"? Demoted from where, exactly? I know it's a small thing, but it really gets on my tits.
  8. Or, looking at it the other way - as a publicly funded body they shouldn't pay more for SPL rights than they're worth. If someone wants to bid more than they can, but I doubt anyone would.
  9. Because the SPL must be made explicitly aware how much a player is being contracted to play for. Rangers told the SPL that player x was getting paid y. Amount z may be listed in the accounts, but not filed with the SPL as being that player's wage.
  10. Um naw. 'Taker has his incredible streak. Aberdeen don't have that. Hearts would be Dolph Ziggler. Massive ego. Hibs would be Zack Ryder - gets a pop from the crowd. Wins nothing. Neil Doncaster is John Lauranitis Chick Young would be Booker T - distinctive voice, no idea what he's talking about though. Jim Traynor is Michael Cole, kissing ass for the heels (in this case The Rangers)
  11. I honestly believe it's lose-lose for the chairmen. That said, I have faith that enough clubs will vote no.
  12. TBF it's probably for the best. If it's known who votes yes, then they'll be boycotted by the other 10 If it's known who voted no, they'll probably get a brick through the windows courtesy of the local lodge at the very least. It's a lose-lose making it public as there's repercussions both ways.
  13. Forget all this diddy talk about Newcos and SPL entry, what's really important is what is the new collective term for the Bigot Bros? Old Firm is dead; New Firm is taken. "The Most Recent Firm", perhaps? "The Current Firm"? WE MUST BE TOLD!
  14. Ok, ok, I'll stop feeding the troll now. I suppose I'm only reacting to him because I badly need to vent on the situation.
  15. Hate to break it to you but any match in any division which involves Rangers will always involve hatred. Maybe your fans will figure out why one day.
  16. The dirty, cheating, unwashed hoardes have made me so angry I'm reacting to trolls too easily and too quickly. I'm embarrassed
  17. So what you're saying is "It's ok to cheat because we'd probably have won anyway"?
  18. What's the weather like on your planet? I assume then that when Rangers won these endless trophies funded by the ill gotten financial advantage you didn't celebrate because Rangers didn't win the trophies, the suits did?
  19. I might be wrong, but I found this on a union website: Basically, any employee who decides NewCo ain't for them has to tell NewCo before the transfer takes place and they don't get punished. Rangers don't want to be tugging that thread, surely?
  20. He's either just another crook who's at it (bad for Rangers fans) or he actually has no idea what he's talking about (bad for Rangers fans). An employee is under no obligation to TUPE into a newco, any employee wishing not to TUPE will just be allowed to leave as if his contract had expired. No sanction for the employee. I'd love it if NewCo Rangers immediately found themselves in hot water by holding players hostage. New Rangers, Old Cheating.
  21. I'm sure Green isn't allowed to say that. Employees can reject TUPE if they wish. From wiki article on TUPE: "where an employee objects to the change in the identity of the employer, then r.4(7) states he will not become one. He is to be treated as if his contract terminated when the transfer takes place, but that he is not dismissed (unless of course the employer actually does dismiss him), This issue came up in Wilson v St Helens Borough Council [1999] 2 AC 52;"
