Just had a week in Southern France with my wife and 6 friends and I must say it was a lovely trip with the southern of France being absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a villa in Miramas (new) about a 45 minute drive from Marseille airport. Was a decent place but loved the old town much more, more beautiful with a lot more restaurants, cafes and bars. Hired 2 cars for the week and from 8/9 in the morning to about 10/11 at night we was out site seeing and just visiting loads of beautiful villages, towns and cities close to Miramas as we could. Places we went too was Nice, Marseille, Nimes, Avignon, Montpellier, Roussillion and Saintes-Marie's-de-la-mer plus a few other places which I can't remember the names of. Almost everyday we would set out to visit couple of places to visit that day but would always find ourselves visiting another place because it looked wonderful passing by and we just needed to park the car and have a look round the place. Avignon was my favourite place which we found by mistake as we was meant to be heading to Roussillion but there's are a few places called that and I put the wrong one in in the sat nav but everyone said they was glad I had made the error because it was a wonderful few hours spent there. If you ever get the chance to go Southern France take it because you won't be dissappointed with what that part of France has to offer.

That's also the word in Sheffield that Cardiff are favourites to sign him. I know we had scouts sent out to watch him before his injury. Still contracted to Hearts or does it run out this season?

Our squad wasn't ready for the play offs last year and no one expected us to be up there and neither did we but we still got there and didn't bottle it when we did get there so that's a pretty poor excuse from Monk I think . Leeds was 11 points clear at one stage with less than 10 games to go, yeah you could say you had a good season but with having 11 points advantage you really shouldn't be bottling it with that much of a margin in points.

After watching this I do feel Minnesota will be the whipping boys in the MLS this year. On the other hand having watched Atlanta last week I must say I have been impressed with them so far. They was unlucky last week to lose their opening match just couldn't get that second goal when they was a goal up already. Impressed by the forward play in the first two games especially that Martinez player(just got his hat trick as I write this) who looks very quick and very threatening when going forward as well as Almiron who's bagged 2 so far tonight but was also excellent last week. There defending might be a weak point in the season but could give us the entertainment factor this season that NYCFC gave last season in there matches with high scoring matches.

Someone grab the popcorn there should be some good footage after tonight's match.

C'mon you L**ds!! Shame Woods isnt bloody playing tonight though, I'd imaging he'll be a big miss.

Wednesday home top, jumper, belt, shoes, hat & gloves, chocolates and beer. Mrs also got tickets for match tomorrow away to Newcastle even though she hates football but wants a night out in Newcastle so I guess I can compromise. Delighted with haul this year Merry Xmas everyone!!!

Hopefully get revenge for the defeat at Hillsborough back in August. Dreadful display from ourselves that day which use took full advantage of.

Hate to say it but I think Gary Monk has woken up one of the sleeping footballing giants in England and a return to the premier league maybe a reality this season rather than a dream. Don't see use going up automatically however but just now the play-offs for sure especially if you keep winning the home matches.

What a job Gary Monk has done this season and there was talk early on in the season that he could of been punted wasn't there too? Still time though for Monk to undo the good work as we can't be having Leeds having a better season than ourselves can we.

Hearing that defending is his poorest part of his game will automatically be a 'not good enough signing for Wednesday' by some of our fans. Right back has been a weakness in our team this season and it's does need sorting out in January. Seen he's out of contract at end of season which may see a possible bid made in January for him as Derby County also monitoring him.

Sheffield Wednesday had scouts last night at match watching Callum Paterson. I know a little about him but has been criticised by the tartan army when playing for Scotland about his lack of defending these past couple of months so should that be a worry? I know he's good at going forward and scored a wonder goal Vs Motherwell this season if I remember rightly but if he's being brought in as a defender and doesn't do a job at that he'll certainly know about it with the Wednesday fans.
