  1. Congratulations to all at LTHV and that's a really nice touch and story about the gentleman Tom Allison.
  2. Back in action this week after an idle weekend. Looking forward to the journey down to Kirkcubridght for the game against St Cuthberts, good times at The Burgh just now and we could do with a day out and all the more pleasant with it being a new venue for us.
  3. Hill o' Beath or Dunbar at home in the League Cup.
  4. Great performance and nice goals from Jono, Nathan and Matti, Absolutyely spectacular goal from Mikey Deland was the pick of the bunch. Strong performance from The Burgh tonight and nice to see them putting a game away efficiently. score reflects well on a good Burgh performance but Leith will maybe a bit annoyed at the margin. Decent performance from Leith for much of the game.
  5. 183 at Musselburgh v Leith tonight. Club figure rather than headcount.
  6. Got through the cup ties at last, first league game on Tuesday and it's a good yin. Preston Athletic, Tranent will remain our derby games and there's always going to be a bit of a rivalry with Nitten but Leith are as close as them in all reality. One of the stronger EoS teams already in place as well so should give us an indication of where we are. Cannae wait.
  7. We console ourselves with the fact that we're no Fifers.
  8. Believe Musselburgh and Pace have now qualified. Section decider though on Saturday, looking forward to the game.
  9. When I get the chance I'll do it on that basis. Nice one.
  10. No worries, I'll try and remember and do a count at any games I'm at this season.
  11. More clearly I meant to say that Preston's count would be the accurate one.
  12. If Preston's count included committees etc. though it would be spot on wiyh my (rough) head count.
  13. Seems slightly high, I tried to avoid obvious committee members etc. may have been more on the Legion side of the stand. Decent crowd though.
  14. Tried yesterday at Preston v Musselburgh and attendance was 140 increasing to about 150 second half.
  15. Excellent second half yesterday against what you've got to imagine is likely to be one of the stronger EoS sides next year, bodes well. Coupled with the commitment of Shandy, Geordie and the playing squad along with the encouraging uptake of season tickets and approaches by sponsors that seems to be happening it looks encouraging at Olivebank.
  16. Yep, your right mate. Bought a reduced hat of theirs when I was in NY and it was baltic. Had no idea that they'd moved.
  17. Reasonable to say that you're like King Canute if you're maintaining an argument about a movement to the pyramid but the current arrangement is a farce, current set up doesn't offer anything suitable for either the Tayside or Perthshire clubs and doesn't enable them into the senior level with a regional level of football appropriate to them.
  18. New Jersey Nets I think of the NBA.
  19. That was me, not another poster. If you want to get into the tedious literary nature of it I'll call it the game's history. It would need to be asked if the importance was negligible given that many senior internationalists have come through the junior game and that the pyramid has only really gathered pace with the en-bloc movement of junior clubs. The code is dying but there would be no harm in retaining what was a healthy tournament which also acknowledges what went before. Being ignored by the media is something that pretty much applies to anything non Old-Squirm, Ross County being an example (unless you're home to one of them).
  20. I was suggesting that under a new nationwide tournament all teams may compete for the trophy to acknowledge and retain the history of the juniors with all codes competing for it. Pyramid isn't going to be stopped, rightly, but what issue do you see in continuing the history of this trophy even with revision of the set-up to reflect the new position? The junior game is dying, do you want that we don't acknowledge it's history and how important it's been in the Scottish game? Just throwing it out there as an idea. If you want to get into the tedious detail of it it should be recognised that I'm only a fan of the game and have little or no influence.
  21. One that has helped develop Kenny Dalglish. Pat Crerand, Dave Mackay among many others. Think it deserves a nod as the game moves forward, no problem with change but we don't need to do that while moving on and denying the game's history.
  22. Unsurprisingly no, are you suggesting that the Junior game has no place in the games' history in Scotland? Just think it would be good to acknowledge that as the game moves forward.
  23. Don't know if anybody's broached it, recently got home after a long hospital stay. I feel it would be good for the game to launch a Scotland wide knock-out cup competition for Non-League clubs akin to the FA Trophy and FA Vase in England. As a nod to the part Junior football has played in Scottish football history and culture we could look into the logistics of the remnants of the Junior Game, the Senior Leagues and qualifying University and amateur sides competing nationally for the Scottish Junior Cup. As a fan of a Junior team moving into the senior set-up the one thing I am going to miss is the Scottish, this could potentially retain it and acknowledge the part Junior football has played in the history and culture of the Scottish game. It would also see a historic tournament adapted as the game changes but keep it's place in the game.
