  1. Was Stevie McLeish's departure also trawmattic for ye?
  2. Welcome down at the club anytime, the more the merrier!
  3. None of that should be read in any way as a snipe against Davy McGlynn, Davy was a fantastic manager in his time at The Burgh, as was Stevie McLeish, as was Calvin, all were good for us and I have a load of time for them all. Particularly Shandy for the wee things he did to help when I was fighting illness, wish him nothing but the best, he put a lot into the club and I for one am grateful for that. Only Geordie's still there though, as I say I don't see it as a gamble.
  4. We'll take our chances. I don't see it as a gamble personally.
  5. The lad that is there now has my full support. People leave but the club remains, Calvin is a gem of a human being and he'll be a loss, Geordie is a gem of a human being and he'll be a gain.
  6. We're not really the ones moaning about it though.....
  7. That'll be the only money they've earned in 22 years?
  8. Aye, crowd was disappointing yesterday, expected higher.
  9. Wasn't much in it yesterday, losing Matty was a blow and Jonno's sending off I can't quite work out. but we held our own. On to next week and despite yesterday we can apparently go top of the league if we get a result at home to Coldstream. Difficult to have seen this when we played Penicuik but with their manager offski it might just be a bit of a spanner in the works for them and yesterday's result shows they might not be streets ahead. Enjoying this season, despite what others have said it's been pretty competitive and I'm looking forward to playing opponents I've never seen us against before next week.
  10. Aye, don't envy Calvin and Geordie it at times. Fully support them though. Not a bad record so far in bringing Brad and Liam through.
  11. Got to leave Penicuik to access the toilets. Decent wee ground in every other way.
  12. Thoroughly deserved step up for Liam, he's been immaculate for us and hopefully that'll signal some movement towards the best young players from Musselburgh progressing through the Athletic. Lost count of the amount of decent players Musselburgh has produced that went elsewhere when they should be looking at The Burgh as a route into the adult game, the Windsor have done a great job of developing young players for years and it's a great thing to see both clubs working together.
  13. Could easily have been more but Peebles did try and make a game of it to their credit.
  14. Good win today. happy with the way it went and thought (without wanting to sound patronising) Peebles played a lot of decent football. Peebles keeper had a great game.
  15. Massive result today, brilliant stuff, gutted I couldn't make it. Well done to all at the club.
  16. EoS League administrators were never going to please everyone. The Conferences were the best solution to get it over with within one season. Very much enjoyed going to places we don't normally go to and anecdotally some of the smaller clubs have been grateful for the higher gates. You got Dunbar at Linlithgow and we toiled against a well organised Tweedmouth, as the season's progressed so have the 'weaker' teams, Arniston gave us a game a week ago as well. They should be given the chance, 12 games is little more than a League Cup group and doesn't settle things. Well done the administrators for me, difficult season, went for a bit of an imaginative solution and from what I hear are a pleasure to deal with for committees. Was a relatively staunch Junior supporter myself, had concerns about the pyramid, some of which I still have but none of these relate to the EoS, it's been immaculate from what I've seen so far and hopefully people in charge there are going to help shape the pyramid.
  17. Not quite sure where I got that from, thought Arniston had a decent performance the week before. Certainly decent enough yesterday, largely Musselburgh but they made it tight at the end and think they're due a lot of credit for some decent football out of defence given the difficult start they've had. Always liked going up there, great wee ground.
  18. Up to Arniston tomorrow and another team that looks like it's turned a bit of a corner. Decent local game for the first 2pm k.o.
  19. Looks like there maybe should be some extra words in there Sam, to help it make sense.
  20. They parked the bus alright and only one team trying to win it. Just trying to be a bit magnanimous!
  21. Said enough about the keeper's antics. Have to acknowledge that in all other areas Tweedmouth were unlucky to leave empty-handed and we were fortunate to get the winner. Turned things around a bit at Tweedmouth since the start of the season, good luck to them.
