  1. Call me old fashioned but football’s all about winning, there’s not much gained getting tankings. That apart i would rather the cost of running a reserve side was channeled to the first team, at least until we’ve consolidated as a championship club.
  2. Another big defeat this afternoon for reserves at Killie, not sure if we are getting much out of this. Oh and no Gavin Gallagher in squad.
  3. Never like to see a club in trouble but Conor Smith needs to bin his agent! £50,000 raised to help pay Scunthorpe United staff as football community rallies - Grimsby Live (grimsbytelegraph.co.uk)
  4. Perfectly acceptable but without trawling through all your posts have you not been a tad critical about the depth of squad? The majority on here have, including myself.
  5. I do not know @cb_diamond but I believe he is being self deprecating.
  6. Does no one think that @cb_diamond is perhaps, maybe, having a go at his good self.
  7. I would concur as someone who is over 5ft 2"!
  8. Any murmurs of last minute loan players coming in? Goalie? A position which has become an integral part of the way we play with Josh as the sweeper keeper but not many keepers would be comfortable with this style. Despite being one of my all time favourites, this would not have suited our legendary keeper with the pink and shrivelled!
  9. Transfermrkt has it up May 2024 although it may not be accurate of course. Guy certainly has ability and I would imagine there will be quite a few clubs looking at him.
  10. Agree, but I'm still looking downwards and a win and a 8 point gap over them is massive even at this stage of the season as well as confidence boosting away win. Morton don't seem to have great depth to their squad but do have a more than decent starting 11 albeit they picked up a couple of injuries on Saturday.
  11. It's a fair shout for a pen, I'd be looking for one even though Easton definitely played for it, but that's allowed and Hancock a tad clumsy. I loved the pass from Josh Rae @ 1 minute in. A lot of pressure on him with the way we play but he seems to be revelling in the sweeper keeper role, yes there will be times when it goes wrong but he's the best keeper we've had for years and will be difficult to keep hold off. Not saying that Dubrowski is a bad keeper but he wouldn't get in our team as he doesn't look too comfortable with the ball at his feet.
  12. Raith shaded it on chances and Hamilton really should have scored but it was actually a great save from big Josh who was excellent, but it's not often we don't create chances and it was all about taking one when it came along. (25 passes for the goal according to a twitterer) Not a lot wrong with Raith to me and I'm sure they'll be stick on's for the top 4 although there full backs looked a little weak to me.
  13. Now, now you said 4 or 5. I'll stand corrected if you can back that up, now run along and check out DTV and revert.
  14. Eh, that is factually incorrect unless you have only started counting from last week.
  15. I can only assume Aiken was carrying a knock last week, one of the first names on the team sheet for me. And yip Hancock showed up really well.
  16. Great goal to win the game for Airdrie and continue our great home form but not much in the game at all.
  17. That was some effort from Stanton. Raith just the better at the moment although Airdrie well in it.
  18. Wouldn't really disagree but as was touched on the match thread, does Watson deserve the chop? Yes he was poor last week but he's been great all season. I can't make up my mind but interested to see Megwa. I do think Rhys will drop himself in favour of McMaster even though he also had a stinker last week but we simply can't have both of them starting.
  19. Initially I thought Watson should be dropped as he did have a mare on Saturday, but concur that it would be harsh given his form prior to his injury. If fully fit of course. I'm not a huge fan of McGregor but I still see him starting mainly due to the disappointing form of our other wide players McGill & O'Connor. Aiken has to start as it was as shock he wasn't involved last week, perhaps a little niggly injury.
  20. I don't see Rhys tinkering with the formation too much on Saturday, Gayfield was the place for that, but I do see Watson, O'Connor & himself out of the starting 11.
  21. Again and I'm Rhys biggest fan, but is this not a result of the high risk high reward policy? I take it your assuming that ATS passed on McIntosh to Fordyce for the 4th goal, perhaps you may be right and ATS looked particularly perturbed after that goal, but that would make your autopsy as half assed as mine. The damage was done with the first 2 goals. Agree with this though
