  1. Happy enough with that. Certainly had potential but only played half a season and £200k is a decent amount of money if true. Would like to hear a bit more about players potentially coming in though. A quality midfielder hopefully.
  2. Yeh my apologies, poorly worded. My point was that Grimshaw had a fair engine to break up play and get forward a bit and Cadden in taking his place doesn't bring the same qualities defensively. Cadden was an excellent player for us for the second half of the season.
  3. I'd agree with that. If our attack going into the new season is those five (hoping McDonald signs), Thomas out on loan (even if it's just a 6 month loan) and maybe bringing in another striker I think we'd be in decent shape. McGhee has tended not to start both Ainsworth and Johnson so to then have Thomas as a third option for that role when he could be out getting good experience seems a waste. Agree on points made on Samson. Perfectly happy for him to be our first choice this season, good level of experience in the league and can't imagine we'd get better on a budget. Is capable of a mistake or two but so was Ripley. Other than perhaps his kicking, I doubt there was much between those two. In defence, I'm quite happy with McManus and Kennedy as our central pairing. Neither outstanding and I do think we could probably get better than McManus for the wage I'm sure he picks up but we wouldn't get the same experience. He'll be essential for Hall's development too. Should perhaps be the season when we start to see Watt coming through as well. Midfield is the main concern for me. Cadden was great for us when he stepped up last season after a surprisingly gaping hole was left by Grimshaw in January. He isn't the type of midfielder we need though I don't think. I thought Jake Taylor or Gomis would be until both turned out to be rubbish.
  4. It's not an open world like 3. There is a degree of freedom in some areas but nothing like the Witcher 3. It's a glorious game in a different way. I'm now over 50 hours into 3 and it really is amazing. I knew it would be before I started but I found myself being surprised just how amazing it is despite being a huge fan of the previous games. With all RPGs I usually get to a point where some of the quests get a little stale but there is just no sign of that here. SO much variety to keep you interested and I must say they've done a great job in the interface. At times in other Witcher games I did feel like it was a little confusing. The combat has also seen some great upgrades. Killing enemies is so satisfying on this game, partly due to the variety of enemies, but mostly I feel due to the superbly designed combat system.
  5. I'm about 50 hours into the game. Having pre-ordered it I didn't get round to starting it until recently because of uni work etc. The witcher 2 was one of my favourite ever games and this is even better. The open world is the best ever created imo and to manage to create so much to do and still keep and remarkable amount of variety is quite an achievement.
  6. Was recently reacquainted with these two beauties:
  7. Made a rule with myself that I shouldn't start a single player game until I've finished the one I've been playing because I had so many unfinished games on my steam account but really desperate to break that rule for this game. The Witcher 2 was one of my top 3 games of all time and I'm dying to get into this one. Is anyone playing on PC and have an indication on how it runs? I remember the Witcher 2 being quite a demanding game.
  8. We stayed there too. Terrific hotel in a great location which is the main thing when going to NY as far as I'm concerned.
  9. Me and my flatmate play TF2 all the time. Still very popular and such a great game. I behaved this sale. Only bought Dragon Age Origins, unbelievable will power was required on that last day.
  10. Just back from Amsterdam and went to the one day Mysteryland festival while I was out there. Was absolutely brilliant. Lovely weather, great atmostphere.
  11. I'm considering CS:GO but I'm so fucking pish at source and 1.6 that I'm not sure if it'd be money down the drain. Nearly finished The Walking Dead which was my first purchase of the sales and really enjoyed it so far with one chapter left. Money well spent.
  12. My steam account name is jazzbandido if anyone wants to add me. I also have a very small friend list, think it might only be my flatmate.
  13. f**k it, I've bought Reus too. It looks awesome. That restraint I mentioned about 20 minutes ago is crumbling.
  14. Mirror's Edge becomes my third purchase of these sales. Great restraint on my part.
  15. Just got Torchlight 2. Quite curious to see what it's like.
  16. The Witcher 2 is probably in my top 3 games of all time, fucking love that game. Be prepared for your PC to die though. Even on my PC which is fairly beefy, it struggled at times.
  17. The Walking Dead bought. I was hoping for Mirror's Edge too but it didn't get voted for.
  18. Done and done. Downloading it now. Getting a wee buzz sitting in my chair watching it download, haven't played this in years.
  19. They were showing it off at E3 although it was still very buggy apparently. Think they're releasing an alpha soon.
  20. Just pre-ordered Rome 2 on Steam. I was going to buy the game anyway but I never pre-order games usually. There's only one reason for this.....TF2 hats. I feel dirty.
  21. Aye it's got a big problem with hackers. They're bringing out a standalone title which should be good though.
  22. Depends if your PC is a monster. I haven't played it but I've heard it runs terribly.
  23. Steam sales possibly starting Thursday, pay day on Friday. This has the makings of a financial disaster.
