Are the Media Against Your Team?
Wilbur replied to Darren Adams's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Scottish media are obviously extremely biased against Livingston since they have only reported about them winning in the league 3 times (10% of games played) this season.- 21 replies

The St. Mirren FC 2023/24 thread
Wilbur replied to djchapsticks's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Why are we even discussing St Mirren qualifying for Europe at this stage ? We have 4 very tough games to negotiate to even guarantee a top-6 slot before the split. It's not inconceivable that we could lose all of them. Right now making the top-6 is our next hurdle. If we miss out on top-6 there's going to be a few posters with egg on their faces. And no, I'm not elvis in disguise. -

For a club of our size, having a spell of success and 'outperforming' our status in Scottish football will always be a double-edged sword. Enjoy it while you can, because there will always be an underperforming club with a larger fanbase and a bigger budget waiting to plunder our assets. If (or when) Robinson and O'Carroll are lured away from us I would hope that our Board would give serious consideration to appointing Ryan Flynn, who must have learned so much from Robinson about tactics, player recruitment, and the value of sheer hard work. The last thing I would want to happen when Robinson eventually moves on would be to bring in an outsider in his place with different ideas. What we're doing right now is working for us, it is continuity that we will need rather than change. -

According to the Internet, which is of course notoriously full of misinformation, John McGinn's current basic annual salary is in excess of £6 million. So, if that's true, what sort of offer from a "bigger" club could tempt him to move elsewhere ? -
Ok, maybe I'm fantasising, but I still think Warnock is capable of turning Aberdeen around this season. IMO they will finish 7th or 8th, and Warnock might even be offered the permanent gig for the next season or two. Watch this space.

Barry Wardrop didn't play enough games for us for him to have had a second touch. -

The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23
Wilbur replied to a topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
On yesterday's evidence I honestly can't see Aberdeen sliding into the play-off slot. The St Mirren comeback yesterday was sparked by an individual error by Devlin, yet most of the negativity expressed in posts from Dons fans has been aimed at the entire team as being useless / spineless / lazy etc. I'd say that's unfair since, apart from the last couple of minutes, I actually thought most of your team played well and fought hard for the jersey. Perhaps Warnock's decision to defend the 1-0 rather than push for more was a mistake, but understandable after the results Aberdeen have had since his appointment. Coming so close to winning yesterday's game could maybe be seen as improvement and a more hopeful sign for the rest of the season ? -

Thank f**k you've got Trevor Carson in goal, otherwise this could have been a rout. -

What makes you think Celtic would stop at 9 ? Goal difference could matter. Double figures not ruled out at this stage IMO. -
Excellent work by Olusanya for our goal last night. He ought to have had no chance to be first to get to Baccus's header, but he gambled that the defender would ease up too early and it paid off for him. He has strength and pace and we've seen that he can be a menace for defenders. I hope we keep faith in him to feature for us for next season and possibly beyond.

Surely Considine ought to call it a day ? His football brain is all he has left, he must be the slowest player in Scottish football. The bloke even struggles to walk. -
