Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread
Wilbur replied to Kyle's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
New ground ? Easy, you build what you need plus no more than + 10%. Even if that means a "Lego" stadium. Build something too big and you lose all atmosphere. A lesson from fairly recent history, have a look at what George Reynolds built for Darlington just over 20 years ago. -

What a piss poor meh statement from St Mirren on our Official site regarding the theft of a bag of Livingston club merchandise from one of their fans last weekend. Ok, fair play to the club for bringing the incident to everyone's notice but what a pile of wishy-washy, namby-pamby terminology was used to express the club's damnation at the incident. Apparently we are "disappointed" by the incident ? What about "disgusted" and/ or "appalled" ? And seemingly our club's reputation being "tarnished" ? What about "trashed" ? What about the club being upfront about the growing problem of, ahem, "disappointing" behaviour of the young ned arseholes that have been causing mayhem outside the grounds ? Unless (and until) our club condemns their behaviour, and threatens sanctions against those responsible, we can only expect this cancer to get even worse. -

I think Cameron scored three in a 4-4 draw at Love Street when we had been 0-3 down at H-T. Against Falkirk IIRC ?? -

Tomorrow is a must-win for the Buddies. No ifs. No buts. No defeat. No draw. Just 3 points. Non-negotiable. -

2-1 at H-T at Ibrox. Fully expect it to finish 4-1 or 5-1, perhaps an even bigger margin of victory since GD could put them on top tonight. -
FFS Thistle. Another bottling. As soft as shite when the going gets tough. Embarrassing for the fans.

I'm not sure that Taylor deserved to lose his starting spot, but since he's been relegated to tbe bench it seems that Robinson has placed Dunne ahead of him when it comes to substitutes. Odd IMO since Taylor has been reliable and Dunne can be a bomb scare. -
Oh yes it is.

Interloper alert !!! Nostalgia can be such a b*****d. My old dad (1925-1974) and his brothers were life long Clyde fans, and even now (almost 70 years old) I can still rattle off the names of that wonderful Clyde XI from the late-60's (McCulloch, Glasgow, Mulherron, Anderson, Fraser/Staite, McHugh, McFarlane, Hood, Gilroy, Stewart, Hastings). Our family moved from Glasgow's East End to Paisley in the 1960's and, due to growing up there, I followed my school friends and St Mirren became my team. Yet I still have a place in my heart for my family's team, and it upsets me to see the predicament that Clyde fond themselves in. Come on guys, get it sorted. Demotion cannot be an option. Anything else could be terminal and that mustn't happen to a club with such a proud history and three Scottish Cup wins. Please.

History teaches us lessons and only fools make the same errors again. Being ambitious and overstretching ourselves is the strategy that took us to the brink of a Reg Brearley takeover. Without the intervention of SG and his backers our club would have gone to the wall years ago. Boring and sensible. That's fine by me. -

Why would a low number of draws be bad news ? Victories get us 3 points, drawn games only get us 1 point. In reality, every draw is 2 points dropped or 1 point gained depending on the circumstances. Obviously a drawn match is preferable to a defeat, but it's still 2 potential points lost. Too many draws will get you relegated. -

Jurgen Klopp could be available at the end of the season. Just thinking he might be worth considering if we happen to be on the lookout for a gaffer at that time. Well, might as well add to the lunacy. -
Gogic my MOM by a street. Kwon looks very promising, he should improve with more games alongside his new team mates. Elvis did OK but looks totally one-footed. The West Stand linesman, words f*cking fail me !!!

Since Robinson took charge, guessing our next signing has been a mug's game. I'm honestly struggling to think of many of Robinson's incomers that I had ever heard of before seeing the 'scarf above the head' photo. -

It may be the wrong stage of the season for Sutherland to feature. I agree the lad looked very promising in a few pre-season games, but I feel he would benefit from spending a bit more time in the gym to bulk up. Similar to Ethan Erhahon, who was a bit lightweight at first but improved significantly after a chunk of pre-season weight training. His body shape changed massively. The same would benefit Sutherland IMO. -

I don't expect to see Grieve in the stripes again - if he flops at Tannadice we won't offer him a new contract, if he succeeds there we won't be able to outbid Dundee United for a new contract. A bit sad, I still think there's a player there.
