Think it would be a big seller.
Would be very keen for something like that as an away kit0 -

What about Stevie D with 3 medals.?

Pink reckoned 42 points would be enough but with the way this league is it might need more. 40 is usually the safety number though.
Now we’ve crossed the 30 point mark, how many do we still need to remain outside the bottom two places - which is the management’s stated goal? Four wins from the last 13 - no easy task- should be enough, maybe more than though the Championship is usually fairly competitive so the lowest can manage a fair number. Having a welcome cushion, almost as good would be denying points to the other bottom 5 clubs (ie no defeats). Let’s see.
The transfer window ushered in more dramatic, and welcome changes than most fans could have hoped. As well as strengthening the squad in key areas, it’s clearly given us a morale booster. But have these been affordable? Shareholders won’t see the AFC accounts till much later in the year. Continuing in the Championship is probably more lucrative than relegation and the Board has demonstrated drive in generating more income from various sources. But basically are these moves a considered investment or a bit of a punt?2 -
Game in any danger of being called off?
Exactly the same here...[emoji31]0 -
Well said. We should get behind every player who pulls on the jersey and try to give them encouragement instead of continual sniping. No wonder Arbroath FC a reputation of having some of the worst fans slating their OWN players!!
Some of the comments on here in regards our own players is shocking imo, this season it is Spence/Doris (a Red Lichtie legend who has won 3 League titles for us/Swankie another Red Lichtie legend and home grown player who has scored loads of goals for us and made the club money/Kader who has scored many am important goal for us/earlier on it was Luke and even Hammy, each season some "fans" take a dislike to certain players (Wallace last season) and SLAUGHTER them regardless how they play, do you wonder why some players lose confidence as they either read crap on pages like this or hear it from the terraces from their OWN fans!!
There is a MASSIVE difference in constructive criticism "Spence was poor today" than just total abuse of our own players "Spence your fecking shite"..............i just do not get it?
There have been loads of AFC players i have never rated or did not like but i always supported them and never shouted abuse at them, yes i would state they were poor or unfit or missed a sitter but i would not openly in public (at a game) or on forms abuse them calling them "shite" or "feck off out the club".
Over the years loads of ex-AFC players especially the local ones have always said we have the worst fans for abusing their own players.
Anyway in regards TOB, without doubt one of the best players for the Red Lichties in my lifetime and reminds me a bit of George Rowe, without doubt he could play at a higher level, i would say bottom to mid SPL no problem, but as has been said he has a decent job will be one of the best paid part-time players in Scotland and he is coming up to be 29 years old so the only teams in Scotland who would pay a wage to make it worth his while are the O/F, the Edinburgh teams and Aberdeen which is not going to happen, would it be worth his time going to St Johnstone or the Dundee teams i doubt it.
Anyway all the best to Spence at Stenny and i really do hope you start scoring goals again as you obviously have the talent but like loads of other prolific strikers in the past who came to Gayfield for whatever reason it never worked out, but at least you leave with a League Title medal.0 -
If you think Gayfield is cold, you want to try Methil or Cowdenbeath in winter. Never been so cold as there. [emoji3511]I've been colder at both Shielfield & at Station Park. There's always somewhere in Gayfield you can both get under cover & shelter from the wind. You can't say the same for Berwick and Forfar. In my experience, when it's windy, it blows straight down the pitch in both of them - there's nowhere to hide.1 -
We need to remember where we are now and where we could have been if not for the Shire a few seasons back. The Championship was always going to be a hard shift for part timers and so it's proving. We should enjoy this season but expect to suffer a lot of reverses. With our support we might, just might manage to survive.

IMO this was a knee jerk reaction picked team from DC. Last week against Ayr we were punished for not putting in a faultless performance. We needed experienced guys out there today. The young loanees certainly didn't let themselves down but their lack of experience showed at times. Agree we didn't show much up top but the first Dundee goal in off the post compared with ours which rebounded out is the fine margin between getting something from a game and not. Same at Tannadice with Campbell shot off the post. We had better get used to this type of game as it will be typical of games for us this season but it is what part time sides need to do. Wins might be few and far between this season and We need to make the most of home games as away points could be like hens teeth. Very rare.

Totally disappointing. Mikeys dive was the cherry on the cake of today for me - shocking.
Only surpassed by Omar who deserved a 12 out of 10 for his in the box.0 -
If we needed a lesson that we need to be at our best all the time and almost faultless, we got it today. The difference between full and part time was a country mile today. Well done Ayr. Best team I've seen this season.

This will probably be the norm for next season. We will be doing a lot of closing down and need to make sure we don't give away cheap possession. Promising so far but friendlies are just that. Getting the guys fit for the league games must be our priority imo.Good for the players to get used to being pressed and having less time on the ball.0 -

Would love to see this resurrected.1 -
With a pre season under him Spence and Doris and Donnelly might be better prepared. DC at the AGM was very positive about our squad for this season but no doubt he will add to it if needed. He has produced the goods so far and we need to support him or at least give him the benefit of the doubt to begin with.I'm intrigued as to what you'd define as a 'chance'. Spence played 21 games last year (13 starts, 11 sub appearances) in the league and Doris got 9 starts and 11 sub appearances. I love Stevie D and think his all round game offers a lot to the team, and considering he was coming back from a long term injury mid season without doing a pre season obviously has to be taken into considering. However, facts are facts and 2 goals in 20 appearances in the league below the one we're going into is worrying, lets be honest.
Greig Spence didn't score a single goal in the league last season, despite playing 21 games overall (13 for us). He struggled at Championship level (as he has done throughout his career) and was punted by Alloa (a team we have to be looking to be better than this year) due to not being up to it for them. He then dropped down to us and in those 13 games was, frankly, abject at absolute best.
Those goalscoring records are what you expect at a team at the bottom of the division, not the top of it. Considering the amount of chances we created at times last season, it's very alarmingly to me that two strikers managed two goals in 41 appearances overall. Let's also remember our other 'main' attacking option is Luke Donnelly....... surely he deserves as much as a chance as Spence/ Doris?
How much of a chance should any player be given on top of what they got last year? Another 10/15 games at Championship level!?1 -
Signed for Partick. Let's face it guys. Players from full time clubs won't come to us unless there is a chance of a coaching/manager job or they want to wind down their football career and use the time to go to college, uni or a job they can fit in with part time football. If we can get a Lee Erwin type loan then great, but let's give Spence and Doris a chance as well. It is going to be a hard watch this season at times but that goes with the territory of being a part time team in a predominantly full time league. Main thing is the fans get behind DC and the team and support the club. C'mon lichtiesKenny miller gayfield bound?[emoji102]0 -
If we can beat QOS on week 1 we will have bettered the hedge trimmers. Let's do it. C'mon lichtiesQOS at home for the first game is very winnable and alloa at home on the last day could be crucial. Pretty happy with the fixtures in general apart from caley & qos away at xmas1 -
Well said mate. Seasons not even started and already the negatives are starting. FFS let's support DC and his players. 2 titles in 3 and a bit seasons can't be bad.I actually think Spence will come good, when we signed him he was not 100% fit, he scored on his debut against a Celtic XI then struggled a bit after that and you can see him not scoring was playing on his mind, give him a good pre-season and let's see what happens next season, his CV is very good for goals and he is not that old, and ffs lets get off the players back it is not even pre-season yet and some AFC players are getting slated by their own "fans" already.1 -

Got a championship medal though.I’d still rather have him than that burst couch in a flat cap who Arbroath have as their manager. It’ll be hilarious seeing how he gets on next season.0 -
It's a chance to give Spence some game time with no pressure to score. Personally would like to see the fringe players from the past few weeks also get some time on the field. Some will probably be going in the summer sadly.

Every team who build a big lead seem to struggle to get over the line and we are no different. Opponents always put a wee bit more into their game when playing runaway leaders as well. Saturday is a big test and no matter who is picked in the famous maroon jerseys, we fans can make a difference by getting behind them. C'mon lichties.

If you recall the start to the second half. Doris header just past. Whately shot just past. Boabskin free kick hits the keeper and rebounds back out. McKenna shot just past. We made some really good chances but didn't put them away. On another day we win that 3 or 4-2. Saturday is a big game, win and we are nearly there. Let's do it. Lichties
Can’t really see where the next win is coming from tbh. The only player who looks capable of scoring is bobby and he could potentially be out for the season.2
