  1. Genuinely can’t see any light from the tunnel with this rut we’re in. Doesn’t matter what formation we play or the personnel on the park. When the f**k will we be able to defend a straight punt up the fucking park? and if we’re going long to Hamilton ,who won the majority of his duels in the air tonight, when will someone fucking gamble or actually play off the boy?! It just renders it fucking pointless knocking the ball to the man in the first place! Shite!!!
  2. Sir Colin Steven in charge on Friday night. Just smashing:
  3. I was more referring to you making the point about ridiculing folks opinions and then you slated the boy for his thoughts ! Agree with you that Stanton’s probably been our player of the season and has been a huge loss.
  4. Not sure if posted already, but Open Goal podcast release later today, the gaffer is on after getting Manager of the Month. Normally some decent viewings with some class stories!
  5. Seeing Easton to Ross County being banded about the old X platform this morning.
  6. Simon Murray would be a superb addition, always liked his physicality and his workmanlike attitude. He’s under contract though and some of the figures being banded about, we surely cant afford that. Kirkcaldy is a lot closer to Dundee than Dingwall right enough. Is that a genuine rumour doing the rounds or just more of a wishlist?
  7. It’s started already. Seen a few comments on FB posts after recent results: “aww hear wi go bottling it again cos can’t afford to go up” Hear that same statement every year from either a mate, or someone in a discussion that we cannot afford to go up, so we just decide to lie down and lose a few games, so we don’t have to go up
  8. Braw it keeps the Tiffoney dream alive as well. Thistle signed O’Reilly and ICT brought in Carraghers son who is a centre back on loan last night too. Unless those 2 are completely depleted defensively then I reckon they’ll both probably be out of the race, leaving it as a shootout with us and the Townies. Although going by the subtle hints and rumours I’ve heard, we may have won the race.
  9. Shamelessly stolen idea from the transfers boy on Twitter - what is everyone’s best XI they have seen so far this season? Here’s mine: Dabrowski Megwa - Gallagher - Holt - Milne Byrne - Docherty Fotheringham - Stanton - Easton Moult Could have made cases for a few, tough one was Moult over Paton up top but went for the United man given some crucial goals he has notched.
  10. See I must see things completely different from others, and I guess it’s good to see others perspective. For me, a fully fit Ross Matthews is very much an abundance of energy about the park who breaks up play and links between the defence and midfield in the holding role. Barely scores any goals, and isn’t really on the creative side - but his role is key in the team. It’s no disrespect to Ross - I just don’t see him technically in the same mould as Sam Stanton to be able to play that role. I’ve had this debate many of times in group chats with this view. I think similarly, when Vaughan has a dip in form, and someone maybe posts a little criticism or their views on his performance - a few are quick to jump and defend and sometimes I think it’s purely down to who it is - because both have been at the club for an extended period of time, many have a soft spot for them and sometimes I think it adds a slight tint to people’s views.
  11. Well If that is the last contribution we see from Dan O’Reilly in a Rovers shirt, then best of luck to the guy in his next move. Maybe being a bit premature here, but if truth be told if we were extending his deal I’d have thought it would have been done well before this point. Stood up and slayed the Pars whilst the Pars slayer, Sam Stanton, is on the treatment table.
  12. Halliday, Thomas, Tiffoney, Stevenson. Anyone only waiting for 1 for a line in rumour mill bingo?
  13. We’ve dished it out plenty on the socials so folk just have to suck it up and take it on the chin. If you can’t take it when it bites you back on the arse then don’t dish it out!
  14. Murray was ill and not feeling 100%, according to Sportsound, as Mickey done the pre-match interview on the radio also.
  15. Oakley is a real handful - he came on in our game at Starks earlier in the season and fair changed the game IMO, him and Muirhead caused chaos with their physical presence. Not surprised to read he bullied the boy Graham - he came on for Gallagher at Starks for the final 10 minutes and my honest opinion looked like a fucking coo who could be got at. How longs Gallagher out for? May have a bearing where you strengthen in the window. Fair play to Morton - style may not be everyone’s cup of tea but some upturn in form, considering there was pressure on Imrie earlier in the season.
  16. Would take Thomas, but it stinks of an agent trying to stir up some interest in their player. If United want him they’ll get him hands down. Not sure Thistle are in a position to be paying fees for players given their documented money issues. Canny see him in a Raith shirt though, he fucking hates us
  17. Never heard a peep from the famous North West boys. have they aww been lifted??
  18. O’Reilly has been a solid addition to the team, and despite not being the tallest is a presence in the air and has brought a bit of much needed aggression to our back line. Watson is going to take a while to get back up to speed, so like many it would be a no brainer to tie down O’Reilly if we can. The new regime though, since coming in, appear to be bringing in or targeting areas where we need “an upgrade”. Just look at the calibre of players brought in - Hamilton, Byrne etc. for example. Not saying O’Reilly isn’t an upgrade but I guess it’s a combination of Watson’s fitness and what we feel is a priority to try bring that has perhaps delayed talks until this late stage. Entitled to opinions, but I think we can do with an upgrade at left back. Liam Dick is a steady enough Championship player - but I’ve said a couple times on here in the past and to mates I’d like us to try bring in Lewis Strapp. Gets up and down and that channel no problems at all and has the weapon of a long throw also. Get he has Premier league interest and just returning from a bad injury, but by all accounts the Morton fans are saying he has been superb since coming back. Out of contract end of month - would be another statement signing.
  19. The bottom sections are now opened to be fair and those weren’t available last night.
  20. Aye, I’m not getting this bad losers tag either tbh - firstly because we’ve no lost in 15 games and secondly I don’t think any our players reactions are any different to others in the league. Robbie Muirhead of Morton’s aimed gestures at the South Stand as well as most recently Ben Dempsey of Ayr. I see no harm in Dylan Easton shhh a few away fans who have been roaring pelters at him for a period of a game or in a previous game. The Arbroath boys claim that Ian Murray was roaring at Gayfield your going down - I’m no buying that at all and it’s probably some made up shite stemming back from when they pipped us to the league.
  21. Murray has hinted at some activity but more on the lines of “we’ll see what happens” and “loan market”. He mentioned after the Partick game he’d really like a winger with blistering pace as feels it’s something we miss. There will be some movement in some sense as if Watson is still out for a considerable amount of time, well need to make a call on O’Reilly as we only signed him until Jan. he could possibly have suitors also as a number of clubs in this division are in dire need of a centre back. Lewis Stevenson rumour seems to pop up all the time, and heard it again at weekend - but I think it’s an area we need to strengthen in the full back area, even just for cover. To the game on Tuesday, given our defensive frailties of late I’d like us to shore up things and play the 4-2-3-1 with Brown and Byrne sitting. Vaughan just off Hamilton with Easton and Connolly either side. It’s a hard one though because the 4-1-3-2 has got us to where we currently sit in the table - but it highlights just how effective Sam Stanton has been for us in that role. In his absence, I personally don’t think we have the personnel to continue with it and would much rather us have a bit more cover in the middle of the park. Gaffer was raging in the video - so hoping the players have had a rocket and quietly confident we can pick up the 3 points.
