  1. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet:
  2. You are not allowed to mention the "as things stand" bit on the LL subforum without certain posters turning into a seething mess. Does that actually signify anything or are they resigned to their fate should Fraserburgh do the business?
  3. Looks that way for the Shirey Pirey anyway. People lose interest in pumping in silly amounts of money so they can bounce back quickly when it starts to look like a lost cause. On the plus side for Brechin though there are relatively few potential title challengers in the HL catchment so they probably will make the playoffs sometimes. Problem being whether they can match what will soon be emerging from the WoS in the LL catchment.
  4. Think you'll find he's also yessirIcanboogie86. Bit like Bo'ness United this season when a club is in a rebuilding mode there's always a danger of a dip in form. Not sure what fans think they achieve by staying away under these circumstances. Less revenue through the gate = less money for the team budget = takes longer before club bounces back.
  5. ...and on and on with the puerile drivel because certain people are more interested in proving they are right or settling petty personal scores than looking objectively at what we've been told. Looks to me like Gretna do probably prefer the EoS if this has been a talking point in EoS circles by people ITK as Burnieman is telling us but as things stand the leagues involved have decided that the SoS would be their destination given what FWF has been told. Whether that's something Gretna could actively appeal in some way is what I'd be mildly concerned about if I was linked to a club in the EoS relegation zone. Would find that surprising if it happened but there have been some sudden unexpected twists recently in LL terms due to SFA board interventions.
  6. Slightly before my time so the Summer Cup piqued my curiosity. Played by the First Division clubs for two seasons (1963-64 & 1964-65) in May in League Cup style group sections arranged regionally to provide extra local derbies and boost the number of SFL related guaranteed fixtures from 40 (34 in the league plus 6 in the league cup section) to 46: http://sfha.org.uk/summercup.htm No Old Firm either time and by then relegated relegated East Stirlingshire who were about to do a flit to Clydebank replaced by Second Division champions Morton in 1963-64.
  7. If people didn't become so invested on here in particular outcomes happening because they have said they would and instead focused on getting to the bottom of what's actually happening the main focus would be on why "as things stand" was tacked onto the end of that.
  8. What the American military are being told about geopolitics at the moment.
  9. Time will tell on this I guess, because they are highly unlikely to still be in the LL five seasons from now regardless of what happens with the Pyramid and Club 42 playoffs this time around. Boundaries no longer being a factor may also explain why there have been rumours on the SoS forum about Threave Rovers applying for membership in the WoS.
  10. The HL still allows their clubs to choose which feeder they drop into if they lose the playoff game though. Not sure this qualifies as blind panic but it was my dear friend from Blackburn that got me interested in this obscure topic with this recent post:
  11. A change on that would fit with what the SFA wanted on the Club 42 playoff rule and with how the HL handles that issue.
  12. ^^^worth a read even if it turns out to be a thinly disguised excuse to flog a book
  13. That's why it would be good to see something official on a league website confirming what happens in their case given the implications it potentially has for clubs in the EoS premier relegation zone.
  14. Think you are suggesting there is a difference between a special military operation and a war in a round about sort of way. Was watching a youtube clip last night that argued quite convincingly with satelite pics that a lot of the tanks the Russian army have in storage are unlikely to actually be serviceable at this point because they have been left outdoors for years on end. If so, they probably have lost a large portion of what they have that's actually useable with no scope for building replacements on a reasonable timeframe. Found this exchange in the replies to the twitter thread linked above interesting:
  15. A massacre that happened in 2014 in a town called Ilovaisk after Ukrainian soldiers got surrounded and were offered safe passage means there is very little trust between the two sides in these situations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Ilovaisk
  16. Not as good but personally still found them enjoyable.
  17. The way they have slowly ratcheted up the quality of what they are supplying fits that scenario as well. Couldn't do it all at once in case Vlad flips his lid so send only a few of the switchblade drones initially then once their presence on the battlefield has been normalised keep sending in more and more. Initially the Americans balked at sending Polish MiG fighter jets but now nobody bats an eyelid when they announce they are sending in helicopters.
  18. Guess if they didn't do that and an American Reaper drone suddenly appeared out of nowhere and took out an oil depot in Belgorod it would look more like direct involvement than sending weapons. If those do get sent though from what I understand there would be no way for the Russians to be able to tell whether it was being actively controlled from Ukraine or by NATO forces.
  19. Will be interesting to see how big a support Yoker have at the final. Smallest club to make an appearance in it for a long time given the way Talbot have hogged the limelight.
  20. Has anyone seen an official statement anywhere that confirms that Gretna go to the SoS despite being an EoSFA member if Fraserburgh win the Club 42 playoff game and Bonnyrigg Rose and Cowdenbeath both have to be accomodated in the LL next season?
  21. You've been in the top division before: If a club like Accies can do it and even stay up for a few seasons, why not Arbroath?
