  1. Could be, that's the sort of throwaway line most would fire back with.
  2. I've no doubt that he was casting an eye to the Partick situation, he's only human. I can totally understand how he felt after last season, I was gutted at our lack of extra budget mid season, we were clearly the only challengers to County last season until we could only bolster our squad with players of a lesser quality than we required, the same is happening this season, we've got a team that if added to correctly could take us to the top tier, ain't going to happen sadly. I don't blame Lachlan for that, I'm all for spending what we can afford but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.
  3. Look at it from his point of view, he would no doubt prefer not to burn all his bridges, everyone does similar rather than hurt people's feelings, it's unfortunate that our best manager since I was a lad has seemingly left some I'll feeling behind. I'm more disappointed in Britton and Co, leaking it in the manner they did to deflect away from their dismal performance on Saturday is a bit shite and very unprofessional.
  4. Can't remember, they don't appear to post on this forum any longer.
  5. I remember another set of fans posting shite like that last season, just can't remember which ones.
  6. What more do you want from the man, we've fired folk on the buroo at the drop of a hat before, loyalty goes both ways and only ever goes so far, I've no doubt that he was genuine in his utterances about Lachlan and Ayr for the vast majority of his tenure, Unfortunately the situation at Partick and his new found ambition have fallen at the same time. I'm just hoping his new found ambition isn't the 1st signs of his demons returning, can't ever take them for granted. Good post, a crown of thorns and a good flogging won't be enough for some.
  7. I was one that was wrong, I'm now questioning whether I was/we were fair on all our previous managers.
  8. Tell me about it, my dog is turning his nose up at better grub than I'm seeing being dished up to someone in the Royal in Glasgow.
  9. Not at all, we'll just take what's happened as a fortunate bonus, squad wise we're poorer than last season but I think we're capable of playing better football as a team this season. I've no doubt his move didn't just happen over the weekend but it didn't appear to affect us on the pitch. That interview was just a large hint that he felt his gratitude to Lachlan had been repaid, who am I to look negatively on that.
  10. Neither can I tbh, knowing us we'd somehow f**k it up There's no point, it was obvious after our playoff loss that things had changed for him, we were no longer the vehicle he wanted to hitch his dreams and aspirations to, probably should have parted ways after that interview but he'd be going without wages if he jumped and Lachlan would most probably have been slaughtered if he'd pushed him. It's done time to move on and hope Sandy Stewart keeps it going, or even better improves us.
  11. St Mirren were tailed off at one stage, that means it's impossible for Dumbarton to have had a better survival, I don't even think I've mentioned JR. You're just making shit up to suit your argument now, 3 wins was actually 5 and now Dumbarton were seemingly out of it before rallying.
  12. Far better as in, they didn't add much to their squad that summer and strolled it the next season, they comfortably avoided 10th and I've no doubt would have scudded anyone if they'd found themselves in the playoffs. Last 10 W 5 D 4 L1 For 24 Against 10 Against bottom half W 4 D 2 L 0 For 18 Against 5 That's not the usual profile of a side officially staying up on the last day. The season McCall came in you could clearly see we were going to be at the top of whichever league we were in the following season even although we made heavy weather of avoiding relegation.
  13. I know how and when they stayed up, they were far better than rest of the bottom sides but that doesn't always get results at the business end of the season, look at how long it took McCall to get us safe when he 1st came in.
  14. You will mingle with the locals, hope you're getting your shots before the next game.
  15. Hopefully we can get a game under our belt and move on, I've hardly posted and I'm already bored rigid talking about McCall.
  16. Nah, his Comments after the Caley game suggested that Ayr was no longer the club for him, I thought he was away after listening to that, probably stayed to pay the bills as nobody else came in for him.
  17. They didn't barely stay up, they were my favourites for the next season's league long before the season finished, the only surprise was how long it took them to attain safety, they scooshed the league the following season.
  18. He rifled in a thunderbolt at Cowden after taking dogs abuse. He's a nice guy who was gutted when we punted him, he was a tryer. My brain can't register anything but wtf, not sure wether I want Lachlan to punt us or just plod on like we have been. I remember sitting with my Bovril at Raith and having to constantly dodge Chris' practice shots, we did have a wee laugh about it after one errant shot.
  19. Deadeye Dick is looking appealing after trawling through the names being touted.
  20. I'll be standing at the halfway line with my boxers at my ankles if anyone can make us better than the last few weeks.
