Months ago I genuinely thought that Clyde were a dead cert to go down but now, there’s a few who could finish last.  Agreed think it will go right to the end and I just couldn’t call it

Same here. Looked like Clyde were a sure thing for bottom, but they got Jordan Allan on loan. He always looked like he would bang in the goals at the lower levels. Unfortunately, when he was with Cowden, we had clueless Bollan in charge and Allan didn't get a proper chance. I think it's six goals in four games now for him. Clyde have what should be a couple of tough games coming up, but it looks like Spartans and Peterhead have already assumed they won't be caught. If Clyde gets some points from the next two matches they will be in with a decent chance of catching Stranraer or Bonnyrigg. The latter two play each other in a few weeks as well.

I’m not absolutely sure of this but I think it’s one place only with the Highland League getting two spots. The second spot is alternate between LL & HL. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m incorrect.

I think they might give it to Albion Rovers, as they will be the last team to have dropped out of League 2, not including whoever drops out (or not) at the end of this season.

Yeah that was them, they camped themselves first half at the far end of the terracing where we usually stand. General pains In the arse. We moved along a bit as couldn’t be doing with any bother, it was no big deal to shift along for one game.  It was good to see a decent travelling support apart from these wee tubes.

If it was a wee bit of handbags with them and a couple of Cowden lads then nothing really to bother about, boys will be boys.

Yeah, can't remember seeing so many Berwick fans on the terrace before. They usually just sit in the old stand.

It was just drunken handbags. The chubby guy who appeared after the scuffle looked blootered. Might have been worse if he was there five or ten minutes earlier. Seen him after the game near the train station shouting at some teenagers, before shuffling up to the station.

If it was those badly dressed stone island clad casual wannabe bellends, they were not kids. Total arseholes, absolute shambles they were, and if they got a slap they would likely have deserved it.

If it was genuine kids caught up in something, totally not on.

It was the group behind the goals near the end, standing up on the grass bank. They looked about late teens, early twenties and were enjoying the day (a few of them definitely had too much to drink). They were goading (as you would expect) some of the Cowden fans who left before the end and a few got over excited and some of the Berwick fans moved down to the terrace area and there was a brief scuffle, just handbags. The Cowden fan was a similar age. The stewards appeared (haven't seen so many at a game for ages) and stopped it becoming anything more.

No kid was attacked out of the blue, as BTU suggested.

Beautiful morning over in Edinburgh, hope it’s the same in Cowdenbeath, and we get a good crowd that all the hard work done by the organisers deserve.

Game in Musselburgh first, then a bit of a dash up the bypass to get over, a day full of football, canny beat it. 😀

Rumour going about that we might get a crowd around the 1000 mark today! I will be very surprised, but Wee Jimmies is bouncing and most of them are going to the game. Normally be about a dozen people in here at this time. A few groups up from England as well.

Have heard through a coach in the Rangers youth set up that the Reserve League is going to be reformed, possibly into 2 divisions and sit at tier 5.  League 2 would be expanded to 18 with automatic promotion into from HL, LL and the reserve league.

They don't need to reform it. It already exists. Hibs won it last season and QP are top so far this season.

  7. Have to say, Gala is one of the best trips. Lovely people and lovely club. The town was desolate though. I assume that's because they were all in Edinburgh for the rugby. Rumour that Chalmers is rejoining them for next season.

It was the big captain Liam Watt that got the Gala goal, it was a quality finish. That boy loves a sweary word or two though. 🤣

Yeah. You mean Wayne Rooney 🙂

  9. The only good spot to watch the game from at K Park is behind the goal, but the away fans are rarely permitted in this area. If they make league 2, they will have to open this area. The rest of the ground is awful for spectating unless you are there early and want to sit in the small stand. Surely League 2 matches will have to be ticketed. If not, there will be fans locked out most weeks.

Chin up guys. You aren’t down yet. If it does happen the Lowland League is actually ok. I do concede I’d rather be in the SPFL. However I still have a club to support and I’m  still hoping things improve and we can get back up. As someone said it’s the hope that kills you.

Agree. We would much rather be back in League 2 (or above), but the Lowland League is much more interesting. New grounds and teams to see.

Playing the same teams four times, year in year out was tedious in comparison. I would much rather be in League 2 with the league full of mostly teams from the current Lowland League.

Should have been out of sight by the first half.

I know the weather was deteriorating all match, but, that 2nd half was not an acceptable considering we had an extra player on the pitch.

    A stressful 3 points 🙌🏻

Yeah. We don't make it easy for ourselves. Started to look like we would be pegged back instead of cruising home. We didn't make the extra man count either. Our basic level of passing is still really poor and it costs us. We keep passing the ball straight to the opposition. If we could make the passes and take our chances then we would be up near top of the league instead of struggling near the bottom.

People seem to be thinking it’s a foregone conclusion that EK will go up but Brechin have strengthened and McCall is improving Clyde.

They gained 7 points from 36 before McCall arrived and 8 from 33 under him, so pretty much no better. They are terrible and look doomed. You never know, but I can't see Clyde beating EK and Brechin have already seen them off earlier in the season, away from home.

  13. The sending off was a joke. It's about time the officials started sending off the players who roll about like they have been attacked by a swarm of bees because an opposition player's arm brushes against them. We all know it is cheating and we can all see it. Only on the odd occasion does it merit a booking or sending off.

More worrying is our defending again. The second goal especially. EK players unmarked and nobody anywhere near Daramola as he has all the time in the world to head it in.

  14. Interesting signing in Turner. Not sure how long he has joined for, but he had a trial with Sheff Wed last year. Hopefully he turns out to be a successful Gomis type signing, but staying around for a bit longer.

There are a number of teams at this level who on the surface have far less resources than we have, but are doing better than we are.

Perhaps they have got used to the league over the years and are a bit more street wise at this level, I don’t know.

I don’t think we will finish below Berwick or Gala, the latter especially are a poor team and if we go below them the season has really petered out badly.

I think we will finish below Berwick. They were starting to improve and with loanee Mylchreest on a scoring run and Liam back now as well and scoring, they will keep picking up points. They have just beaten Tranent, Civil Service and cruised past Broomhill. As you know, we haven't beaten any of them.

  16. I think Calum is very good at the job and he makes the right call almost every time, which I can't say has been the case with most managers. Lack of money is more the issue. I don't think this squad is good enough to get much higher. It might only take a few players to make a big improvement, but I doubt it would be enough to seriously compete at the top. All about next season though. Probably be our most important season ever.

    Very disappointing.

    How did we play?

It's been a really poor start to 2024 results wise.

That's because we struggle to compete with the teams above us (the decent teams). Hearts B are the only team in the top half we have beaten in the league.
