Just a wee heads up for those of you who are coming to Cliftonhill on Saturday.

The club assisted by the Albion Rovers Supporters' Trust will be running a bar for the games v Cowdenbeath and East Kilbride on the 23rd and 30th of December respectively.

There will be one turnstile open from 12.30 (3pm k-o) to allow those wishing to partake in a pre match beverage.

Entry to the lounge will be via the door in the main stand adjacent to the pitch. The bar will be open from 12.30 until 14.45.

    Prices will be as follows:

Selection of canned beers and lagers £2.50
    Wines by 125ml glass £2.50
    Selection of 25ml spirits £2.50

The bar will open to those aged 18 and over to both home and away fans alike. In line with current legislation, no alcohol will be permitted to be consumed in view of the pitch.

Would that be tonic wine 🥴

I'm really surprised, and also concerned, about the betting odds for this game tomorrow vs Stirling 😲

For those that know these things, City have drifted out from 6/4 to 11/2 which seems very odd.

Stirling in from 6/4 to 1/2.

Makes me wonder what the bookies know about the starting team City will be able to field tomorrow? 🤔

Looks like Paddy Power aren't even offering odds on the match now.

Ground is solid at my bit.

Yeah. The ground was solid near Cowdenbeath this afternoon. Meant to get warmer on Friday and Saturday, including at night, so looks hopeful.

Aberdeen played in Finland, snow covered the pitch and a temp of -9C!

That's warm for Finland 🥶. They have astro pitches which don't freeze easily as well. All they usually have to do is brush the snow off.

Check out the retro blankets. No need for Xmas throws with this beauty.

Might need the blanket tomorrow to keep warm. Are we getting the full range? Beach towel next.

    I was being a little mischievous. 😀

Just under 1200 tickets sold, 217 in the Cowden end so far. I am sure there will be more buying a ticket at the ground.

Anyone know if we have a fully fit squad for tomorrow?

Great effort from the fans e.g ticket numbers thus far. Long journey and although it wasnt/isnt the perfect draw just to be in this round i spose is a bonus compared to previous disastrous scottish cup campaigns. Dont think we have been in 3rd round in last 4 years maybe 5?

The players and staff will give their all of that I have no doubt.

Big Dunc and Gary Bollan in the opposite dugout tomorrow..... couple of hardy dundee lads right there lol.

    safe journey up tomorrow.

    Mone the Cowden.

I didn't know Bollan had rocked up at Inversneckie. Hopefully he has instilled the defensive mindset into the team and they sit back in their own half and give us a chance 🙂.

Big Dunc is a Stirling lad, although he started his senior career at the Arabs.

206 tickets sold now. Hopefully a late surge or some fans buying one at the ground tomorrow.

Its a poor draw really, long journey with high costs against a championship side, imagine crowd will be poor at 700-800 so not even the windfall of a decent gate. The magic of the cup right enough.

Looks like about 800 or so tickets sold so far.

Anything can happen in these type of games, but I would say that we need to have a fully fit squad and everyone playing at their best and Inverness having an off day for us to have any chance.

I fear we might be on the end of a drubbing.

    Will Mac2 be playing?

  9. 188 tickets sold in the Cowden end so far for Saturday. 118 tickets still remaining, although they can use the other sections of the away end if need be.

Any neutral looking at the tickets still available in the away end might be forgiven for thinking that we have almost sold out the entire stand. That's what I implied when I showed some work colleagues the ticket website 😁.

I'm just playng catch-up on here and surprised it's not been mentioned. I don't know if it's the same programmes north of the border, but on Sunday's ITV4, Cowden's famous feature was on the best of Saint & Greavesie show.

It was this short feature that spiked my interest in the club as a youngster and planted the seed that made me think 'I'm going to go there one day'. I tried finding the footage in subsequent years but with no luck so delighted to see it for the first time in what must be more than 25 years.

It should be available to watch online via the ITV website for anyone who missed it... and if somebody to copy it and get it on youtube for future generations to enjoy, then that would be superb.

I remember that match. The rain was absolutely torrential. Only 2 of us stayed on the terracing and we were soaked through. Everyone else took shelter in the stand.

  11. Kirkintilloch RR, Broxburn, Caley Braves, Rutherglen, Kilwinning (beat Albion Rovers 3-0), Dunbar, Cumbernauld Colts, Kennoway, St Andrews, Ashfield, Tranent, Johnstone Borough, Pollock, Shotts BA, EK, Troon, Threave Rovers, Leith all still in it.

Dunbar v Cumbernauld Colts, Kennoway v St Andrews and Threave Rovers v Leith Athletic are 4th round matches which were called off.

  12. Sloppy and poor most of the game today. We can't string together more than a few passes and it has been like that for weeks now. Expected to lose today and no surprise that we did. The Bo'ness players were far better on the ball. Amazed that we did not use the sun to our advantage. Their keeper could not see a thing on his left side in the first half. We should have been moving the ball up our right and hitting shots from the edge of the box. Yet we didn't even try and when we did move forward it was up our left.

Hepburn didn't have a great day, dropping the ball for the first goal and hesitated for the header, but he is allowed a few mistakes. Normally reliable.

We are better than last season, but we are only 2 points better off than at this point last season. I think some of our support think we are better than we actually are.

I agree with others re spending. We should be concentrating our efforts now towards next season. It wouldn't take much to make us challenge.

I must admit i enjoyed this score a bit to much and the smugness coming out of EK FC  before this game lets everyone see they full of their own self importance. They think the league is already won and a run in the Scottish cup was all but guaranteed  and i have no doubt mick Kennedys head has already been turned. No top team should get beat 7-0 and as painful as it must be behind the scenes question marks are getting raised about this manager. Personally i think he's a cheque book manager. Tranent have the blueprint on how to beat EK FC and all lowland teams will have taken note of this. Out of curiosity are you in charge of the mick Kennedy cheerleading society.

Kennedy is definitely a cheque book manager. Without the money his teams would be mediocre. EK should comfortably win the league and should make it through the play offs, but they aren't that impressive.

    Are there replays etc ?

No replays. Extra time and then penalties. Fortunately, we didn't need it.

3rd round draw tomorrow at 7.30pm. League 1 and Championship teams enter at the 3rd round.

Sad to see my wee pals at Central Park struggling on after some hope early doors. Always liked my trips there but a shame it looks as though I'll never get to visit again barring a good cup draw. I suppose it's easy to point the finger at injuries and the like than confront a reality, but fingers crossed meaningful action gets you back where you belong soon.

The injuries have affected us, especially as it was key players (other teams have had their share too), but the five draws we have had were hard to take because, unusually for once, we should have won all five of them. We should have been home and dry and instead were hit by late/injury time goals in four of the five. That's the difference between fourth and tenth and it must affect some of the players. Almost half the goals we have conceded in the league matches have come in the final few minutes or in injury time.

  16. With our best eleven fit, we are a match for anyone in the league on the day, but unfortunately we have had too many injuries.

We just need to be more productive upfront. The final ball is often poor and we don't give Ewan any service.

We can't afford to waste chances on Saturday. Kilwinning are a decent side. They would hold their own in the Lowland League.

    Is Dougie injured?
