It would have been good to keep Smith and far better for his development as well. Hearts have recalled seven loanees. They won't play all of them, if any of them even get much of a look-in. Maybe they are recalling them to make a push for the reserve league title!
In the old days, players like Smith would have been on the books of teams like Cowden. Nowadays, these players are basically hoovered up by the bigger teams to fill reserve and youth teams and only see action when they are loaned out.
Yeah. They were on loan until the January window, which is now. It will be tough without them, if they go back. Fife times mentions everyone available for tomorrow except Renton and Dabrowski. Fingers crossed.
We always sit far too deep and let the opposition boss the midfield. We are often too slow to react as well. I wish we would try to play it on the deck when upfront. Instead, our tactic still resorts to lumping the ball in the air to little effect. We are tight (normally) at the back, but lacking in ideas upfront.
Who was shouting leave it for the second goal? It sounded like it came from the bench when it was obvious we should have attacked the ball.
Pyper the Sniper! He will score the winner tomorrow.
He just needs to be more decisive. He has ability, but gets caught out by uncertainty. Mental belief is a major factor for many players. Just believe in yourself Jamie.
You knocked it about really well in the last game as well, better than us. You don't look like a team that should be bottom, but you seem to concede goals far too easily. Even yesterday, we could have easily snatched an undeserved draw.
I have never seen a referee argue with a spectator until today. We got a couple of throw ins in the first half which should have gone to Brechin and one of their supporters started shouting at the ref (nothing unusual). To my amazement, the ref started shouting back at him.
I didn't see what Dougie Hill was sent off for.
Bizarre when Renton was trying to get the ball back off Page. It must have been about two minutes that Renton and Hamilton were pushing and shoving Page and (I think) Hill, with the referee just blowing his whistle the whole time and the players totally ignoring him.
Yeah, just pointless hoof balls to Renton who doesn't even get off the ground, or to Allan who gets out jumped. Only looked dangerous when Taylor was brought on, but yet again we keep Renton on and take off Smith. Wasn't a booking for Renton at the end, as he only tried to knock the ball out for a throw in instead of a goal kick, but the ref lost total control and was booking everyone in the last few minutes. Sure he even tried to book some fans.
Surely Jordan Allan starts today. We need goals. Allan, Taylor and Smith up front for me.
Somebody has to start scoring or we will slip down the league.
Bizarre why Allan is not on from the start. We only looked dangerous when he was on, but I would keep Taylor on with him. They look like they would be a good pairing. Just the sort of game where Cox would have snatched the winner.
Todd is getting better and much improved on his early appearances. He is solid, especially when he has decent players around him, but Hamilton is our best player by a country mile.
Of course it's not acceptable, but football is far more popular and has far more fans than these other sports, or games , as some of them are. Also, most of the league 2 players are not doing their job. They are part time players. They have a job outside of football.
I have never heard anything said about his mental health at games. He probably gets criticised less than most of our team. He does seem to get treated more leniently by the ref's as well. He is like a mini tornado sometimes. He needs to chill a bit more in games, but maybe that's the only way he can play. The games would certainly be more boring without him playing, but his well being is more important than him providing entertainment for fans.
Giving players stick for their performance is fine and I am all for players giving stick back as well, but everyone should think how they would feel if it was one of their family getting the abuse. Sometimes it is definitely over the top.
