  1. Exactly. Possession is overrated. Clinical finishing is the most important factor. Cowden are happy to sit back when in front and catch the opposition on the break, like at Hampden earlier in the season. We are confident that our defence can hold firm.
  2. I thought he went into the new stand and started celebrating with the fans before heading to the dressing room.
  3. I like Coxy. He is entertaining to watch, although not always for the right reasons. He is like a Tasmanian devil or an angry little bear, like Ted in the fight scenes. He gets away with a lot more than others do. He almost costs us points, but I wouldn't change him. It would be boring if he wasn't there.
  4. I have no problem with players giving stick back. It's funny when they do and usually fair enough. Our very own Fraser Mullen gave one of our fans a mouthful recently after being on the receiving end of some abuse. Great stuff.
  5. Pyper is ok. He just needs to have more belief. Believing in yourself is a huge factor in football.
  6. The league is dross. Cove have better players because they pay silly money. Edinburgh are an ok team. We are ok with our loan players. Without them, we would be struggling. They give us a little bit extra and improve some of the others in the team enough for us to win games like today's. QP are very poor. Fortunately for you, there are even poorer teams.
  7. Probably been asked already, but when do you actually turn pro, start paying players etc? Do you need to sign your current team on pro contracts?
  8. Website down. How unprofessional. Bunch of amateurs. Oh wait...
  9. Smith has been a bit stronger in challenges recently, but as has been said, he is only 17 and can get stronger. He helps create something out of nothing and just has to improve his final ball.
  10. I don't think height is as important as some make out. I would rather have a skillful shorter player than a less skillful tall player. Still too many people involved in football think height is massively important. You can still see this at the kids level, sadly. There are plenty of tall players who barely get off the ground when jumping for a ball. It would be a massive boost for us if we could keep both Smith and Hamilton fro the full season.
  11. I think both of them could play in the top flight. Not saying they will, but they do have the potential. I think Smith sometimes suffers because some of the other players are not on the same wavelength as him.
  12. If we can beat QP on Saturday, we will be 9 points ahead of 5th place, although Elgin will then have a game in hand. Might even be 10 points ahead if Annan manage to lose to Brechin tomorrow and Stirling on Saturday. Think I would prefer it if Annan beat Brechin though. The bigger the gap between us and the bottom spot the better. Especially if our loanees are recalled by Hearts.
  13. Said it plenty times already, Renton isn't a striker. We should have Allan starting the games, like we did at the tail end of last season. Some may say that Allan is poor when he is on, but he gets very little game time and is expected to instantly bang in the goals with little or no service. Yet, Renton gets the whole game week after week. Be good to see Allan and Smith link up. Hamilton is a key player for us. Big loss when he returns to Hearts.
  14. Based on the home form of Annan and our away form, the likely score is 1-1.
  15. Yeah. Great chance for young Smith to drill into the corner for 2-0, but he hit it upwards off Cox's hand. A minute later and it's 1-1. Where do they get these refs? Like the clown on Tuesday. Didn't want to book anyone. Cove players looked like they were more interested in drawing fouls in the box than scoring. Thought Bollan should have brought Allan and Taylor on much sooner and inject some pace upfront. Wish he would keep Smith on with Allan to see how they link up.
  16. A bit fortunate in the end getting a point. Looked like a definite penalty to Stirling for handball. Also Dabrowski made vital saves. We have possession, but still far too often we just lump it forward instead of passing it up the pitch. We make it too easy for the opposition defence. The final ball upfront is terrible and we don't look like scoring because of it. Coxy in particular is shocking at passing, but he does get the odd goal. Renton actually did quite well, but mainly when defending. He made a vital block when it looked certain that the Stirling player would power a header in and then another last gasp clearance when the Stirling player would have been clean through. He blocked a close range effort and also cleared from a corner. Looked certain to score a header in the second half as well, but Coxy jumped in front of him and headed a ball over that was always looking too high for him to score from. Allan not on long enough to change things. He needs to start games. He is starting to get frustrated at lack of playing time. Still disappointed with Buchanan. You forget he is on the pitch at times. He is capable of much more. Maybe he just doesn't like the position he is playing in. As said before, our defence is making the difference for us, but we need to be much more effective upfront. Did the ref forget his cards?
  17. Broxburn need to take a large following up to Inverurie and get them doing this badger dance. It will drive the locals mad.
  18. Well done to Broxburn, the much better team. Not very often you go to get food during the second half and they say they only have steak pies left. You are lucky to get steak pies at League 2 grounds, let alone there still be some left after half time. Well run club.
  19. Well done Broxburn. You played football on the deck, the way it should be played and I doubt we would beat you if we played the game another five times. It will be tough at Inverurie, as I doubt they will play as poorly as us. However, if you play the same way and are confident it all comes down to taking your chances in front of goal and you can make the 4th round.
  20. Said it already this season. We HAVE been poor for lengthy spells in games, but we have been fortunate with penalties and some brief good play has won us the points. Poor teams do win games sometimes. We clearly miss Hamilton and Smith. We knock the ball about and then just hoof it forward almost all the time. Only Taylor and Swann actually take players on and yet again, Bollan takes Taylor off when it should have been others. Well done to Broxburn. If we played the game again, we would still struggle do create anything.
  21. It looks ok for a plastic pitch on the web, but probably old photos. 3G pitches don't last well. They are usually like brillo pads if they are ten years old.
  22. I see some SFA representatives will be at Saturday's game. Obviously coming along to hear the nice song the badgers sing in their honour.
