Time has caught up with him but if he's played along side other defenders with pace, then his experience will get him through. He reads the game really well but its painful to watch when a winger leaves him for dead in one on ones

Am I the only one who's little disappointed by Andy Graham? It is quite clear from seeing how he finished last season and has started this one, that his legs have gone
Aitken seemed happy enough to use him sparingly and it was quite likely given Darren Barr has a reputation for being injury prone that he would get games this season
Now obviously we don't know what was promised when he signed at start of season or if there's been a falling out but football is a squad game......we can't just let everyone who's not getting a game go surely?

If Kane comes back i will shit myself with excitement.
As others have said, I don't think aitken fancies miller. Surely tuesday would have been an ideal game for him to start. Smith doesn't look up to much at all and as much as it pains me to admit it, big chase doesn't look the same.
Kane would be brilliant if he comes back
none of us have seen Miller, so its hard to comment on him. Smith has hardly played either, although hasnt overly impressed me when hes been on - perhaps a division too high for him
big Andy was clearly struggling for pace at the end of last season, but got away with it most of the time due to his experience and excellent reading of the game. We do however have pretty much a brand new defence, so whoever plays there will take time to bed in
what is clear however, is that we dont have great strength in depth in our squad, so pleased to see Aitken looking to bring new players in

Ok. Cheers. Do u know if grounds open tomorrow?

Does anyone know when season ticket books get posted out?

Former Stranraer collegaue of Aitken's. Lacking in pace, but a no nonsense centre back.
is Fraser Wright a centre half? i had it in my head he was a full back? I understand he is experienced, but we already have an experienced and slow centre half....i would have thought we would be trying to bring in a bit of pace to compliment Andy Graham

Is Van Zanten finished at this level? He was decent for us a few years ago and wouldn't mind having him back if he's still the same player.
I would guess he has at least 1 more season in him....if he can stay injury free

little surprised Gils away....not so much Van Zanten,,,,,after a slow start, I thought he did quite well, but perhaps the fact that he missed the end of the season through injury was a factor
Gils always one of my fave players.....missed very few games which was surprising given he had been injury prone before signing for us....all the best wherever he ends up

always sad to see players moving on, but probably the right move for all three
Campbell always put in a good shift, but over the season showed he isn't the natural goalscorer we were needing. Rumoured to be heading to Clyde....probably his level
Linton another one who put in a good shift, and out of the 3, the one I'm most surprised by. Murray seemed to like him, and he generally played when fit
Megginson has had a frustrating season, and didn't get anywhere near the highs of the previous season. Probably a good move for him to move on to try and secure a starting place
wish all three the best wherever they end up

The police are so out of touch with reality it's frightening. They must waste a monumental amount of resource on policing Dumbarton games, do we foot the bill for their ludicrous paranoia and decision making?
The have forced the Stags Head and even the Co-op into having stewards on the door for category A games. Thankfully the Stags Head told them where to go when they demanded plastic cups be used instead of glasses. What's the need for this? Do they realise we are Dumbarton FC or do they think they are policing an Old Firm encounter?
I see numerous police floating about our games, hands in pockets, picking up the easiest wage they will earn in their puff. I even seen two of the c***s patrolling our Stirlingshire Cup game. Overkill at it's finest by Strathclydes finest.
I'd love it if they could review their policy on Dumbarton games and I'd love it even more if the club would challenge them into doing it. Surely to god there are far bigger issues to be dealing with in our local area than searching 14 year old Hamilton fans because they are wearing Addidas trainers and Fred Perry jaikets?
despite what it said on website, Castle Street actually wasnt closed last night, so perhaps common sense prevailed

But Stranraer would be guaranteed six points from us - at their place, where our record is awful
thats only in cup competitions....and only when we're 2 up.....we'll be fine in league games lol

I understand what confidence is to people at their work, especially at football. My point is that it's Murray's job, that we're paying him very well for, to put out a confident team capable of winning the game. If he's not feeling confident then he's got to do everything he can to ensure that doesn't rub off on players. I'm not against him using the staff he has available to him if he isn't feeling confident, Murray doesn't strike me as the type to be short on confidence though - I'd suggest the opposite that he's perhaps over-confident at times.
How is the club suffering from a lack of confidence?
Think its a little more complex than that...it may be that a few of the players individually are suffering a loss of self confidence, e.g. a striker who has missed a few chances, or a defender who has made a mistake which caused a goal. This can then manifest across the whole team, and heads can go down when playing well, but conceding a soft goal
Players may also be lacking in confidence due to personal issues
I would guess that teams who do well, have the vast majority of their players with high levels of confidence. That said the guys who are on the bench and are not getting a game, are perhaps in a totally different frame of mind...they may only get last few minutes, and may try too hard because they are trying to force their way into a winning team
yes...of course its the manager's job to try and instill confidence in a team....sometimes that happens by winning games.....or by playing the correct formations that suit the players abilities
Who'd be a manager?

I offer £10 for the naming rights. Probably more lucrative for the club than the previous deal.
the Moonster Arena?

Darren Petrie comes in on a development loan from Dundee utd.....left sided midfielder according to OS

Gary won almost everything in the air and the deck on Saturday but charleston is clueless, gary is probably our best player just now
I like Garry Fleming, but to state he is our best player is perhaps stretching it when comparing him to Kane, Graham (albeit he has gone off the boil a little in recent games) or Rogers
I'm still not sure where his best position is....he certainly isnt a striker

Aye because we wouldn't have lost 1-5 if Colin Goal Machine Nish had been playing.
if we had stuck to our 442 we would probably have won....instead we played some weird 541 or 3241 or 550 and the team had no shape
I understand peoples frustrations with Nish, however, we have generally played our best games when he has been part of a 442

Delighted he's away.
and how did that work out for us today playing with no striker?

Easton loan deal now up on OS

What s the rules for loan players.Dylan s on loan at Arbroath just now and I know we were trying to extend the loan.I thought you can sign for 3 clubs but only play for 2 ,so not sure if Dylan has played for St Johnstone yet.Did Alloa not have something like this with Martin Boyle last season.
how has he been for you?

i see from the OS that noth McCallum and Whitefield have been handed squad numbers for rest of the season
not sure if we should read anything into this. Does this indicate there may be no more signings / loan deals?
have we overspent in the 1st half of the season, and now have to trim the squad, albeit Murray was getting nowhere near team, and McDougall was obviously looking to have more game time before he emigrated

according to OS.....Kieran MacDonald returned to Hamilton

another point just to lob into the debate...what happens if the proposed move falls through? Do Brabco say f*ck you DFC and offload us...sometimes its better the devil you know given some recent troubles at other clubs - Rankine....Charles Green etc

Why exactly do we need to move. The current sites has lots of potential for expansion with extension of current stand or building of a stand opposite. This could incorporate office units etc to generate income. There is also enough space for a synthetic pitch (the need for car parking is a bit of a moot point. I have no idea why the fee is as low as £1 with free raffle ticket? Let's increase to £2.50 and see just how many spaces we really need)
Why will the council not allow enhanced floodlighting or are they rigging our move?
What's wrong with having a football stadium along a waterfront walk?
When will these not football folk begin to understand the importance of community clubs such as ours?
We are a football club first of course however alternative revenue streams must be maximised. However not to the extent of being a reason for moving club (especially when space for expansion exists at current location)
there is no scope whatsoever to expand the current set up...the council will not allow any additional seating capacity due to the single road leading to the site - this was the main reason why we were not allowed to erect temporary stands for this seasons esteemed visitors

Figures printed in the press today suggesting Britain benefits from immigration from EU nationals to the tune of around £20b per year.
I'm not all up on the detail of UKIP policy, but are they not completely against immigration to the UK?
I think theyre only against certain types of immigration, ie Farage's wife is German, which is OK, but apparently having Romanians moving in next door is not.
I also saw something the other day saying approx 2M UK ex pats live abroad...presumably if UKIP gets its way, these other countries will do the same, and we will instead be swamped with UK ex pats?

he had a pretty good game on saturday, and arguably we got worse when he was bafflingly substituted. We are still trying tio find our best team, so theres a fair bit of tinkering going on just now with players
