  1. Does anyone know what the record is for consecutive League match defeats by a Clyde team? I'm curious to see if I'm witnessing history in the making
  2. Looking at the Clyde's team selection I can only assume we're throwing in the towel slightly earlier than usual today
  3. I'm from EK and old enough to have had to travel by bus to Shawfield then onto Firhill and Douglas Park. Finally only getting in the car to for the half hour drive to Broadwood. You've been lucky so far.
  4. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/clyde-at-lowest-point-admits-28321150?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar A few quotes from our manager: “I take full responsibility as Clyde manager." He said the same last season. He should resign. "I know it is unacceptable losing that amount of games on the trot..." It must be acceptable because he's still in position. "If it wasn’t for bad luck, we’d have no luck at all." Does that sound like someone taking responsibility? Three years of bad luck?
  5. It just goes to show that being a "likable character" goes a long way as a football manager. How many posts, including my own, have started with "Although I like Danny..."? It negates the seasons of stagnation we've endured. It's almost like we're apologising to him for delivering us rotten football. Until recently fans were still singing his name. Remember, that's after three seasons of shite. I'm in no doubt his likeability has ingratiated him to the board who don't want to sack a "good guy". We may have a small budget but year in, year out we waste it on players, who for the most part, don't even get on the pitch He needs to go.
  6. You're a fucking bore. How's that for talking sense?
  7. You mustn't forget that this is the third season Danny Lennon has recruited badly. The third season of confused tactics and team selections He's had plenty of time and opportunity to turn things around. It's obvious now he doesn't know how to do it. He should be sacked but I doubt he will. No other manager would survive nine league defeats in a row.
  8. Blame should include the fans that chanted Danny Lennon's name for the last couple of seasons. That's seasons where we've produced shite performances, incredibly poor signings and baffling team selection and formations No wonder Danny Lennon and the board felt comfortable with those performances. I look forward to Danny's reflections on the match. In reality, you could just replay any recordings from the last three seasons. Nothing has changed.
  9. That would be the John Rankin sitting bottom of the league with Hamilton Accies?
  10. I've never heard this before. Hopefully you're right.
  11. Danny is going nowhere. He only signed a two year extension recently. We can't afford to sack him and he's not walking without a payoff. We better hope he turns around as we're joined at the hip. Maybe the fans that have continuously chanted his name even after multiple poor results have lulled the board into thinking the majority of fans were happy with Danny Lennon's mediocrity.
  12. Clyde don't lose single goals in matches. They usually come in a bundle of three.
  13. I watched the podcast last night. It was worth the watch. Danny recognised his mistakes, particularly going to a 5 at the back. He states on many occasions he takes responsibility for the results but mentions more than a few excuses of injuries, individual mistakes, visa delays etc The problem with Danny is he comes across as a friendly guy who says the right things. However, sadly, the trend of dodgy recruitment, weird team selection and tactics resulting in numerous disappointing results and performances over the last few seasons remain unchanged.
  14. We signed Jon Craig, a left-back on loan, to then select Kennedy starting in that position. When Kennedy came off we replaced him with Rodden. So to summarise, as the window was about to slam shut Danny Lennon prioritised the signing of a third choice left back and a goalkeeper.
  15. Danny should do the ordinary things better like picking the best players for their positions.
  16. It makes you wonder why he continues to sign players that are unable to do the ordinary things even at a basic level. Is there even a point to getting Danny's comments before or after a match? They're meaningless. White noise. How about getting our team to show it on the pitch.
  17. Why was Danny Lennon given a two year extension in April? I've no idea What were his successes in the last few seasons to earn him an extension? I've no idea Is he really doing a good job maximising the resources at his disposal? No! Financially, we simply cannot afford to sack him. It's as simple as that. We'll just have to bear the multiple runs of defeats followed by a couple of lucky wins. That will be enough to have some singing his name again. Being a nice guy seems to go a long way for Danny. Personally, I'd rather we had a successful b*****d of a man in charge.
  18. I'd counter by pointing out we went on a run of 1 win in 13 (thirteen) matches later in the season.
  19. When Danny extended his contract he said "I am excited to build on our journey of forward momentum together in my five seasons here, moving from bottom of the fourth tier to mid-table in the third tier." My questions are what forward momentum? And where is the progress during the last 3 seasons in League One? If Danny Lennon wins a few matches in a row he gets a two year contract extension. Isn't that the way it works at Clyde football club?
  20. Looking at today's team selection I'm starting to think Danny Lennon is trolling Clyde fans or seeking a package to go.
  21. Whenever I see him in my mind's eye he's warming up behind the goal. I have zero memory of him actually on the pitch. To his credit, I usually have even less memory regarding most of our loans.
  22. Still no fullback loanees. Was the loan of a goalkeeper really a priority?
  23. We'll find out within 5 years how Broomhill is doing. Personally, I doubt they'll exist at any serious level.
  24. I'm surprised it's taking so long as they seemed very (overly) eager to get started. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/concern-over-east-kilbride-charitys-5397283
  25. What's Broomhill's average league attendance? I bet it's nowhere near 1000
