  1. Quite the opposite for me. I'm excited to see what kind of squad we can acquire with the Gomis and Goodwillie's salaries spread over an entire squad.
  2. Who'd have thought? Looking forward to a Monday on a Friday
  3. Dare I say it, the football we play as a team is better without Goodwillie in it.
  4. Yes, Cove have the better players but that level of performance from Clyde was totally embarrassing. We couldn't pass the ball 5 yards, we dropped runners, we lacked effort and we were tactically woeful. One shot on target in the second half with a strong wind behind us. Hardly even a cross into the box. We never tried to stretch their defence at all. Tade's performance needed to be seen to be believed. How he stayed on the park so long I'll never know. It cost me a lot of money and time to go to Cove. I'm freezing but at least I can satisfy myself that I at least put in an effort. I doubt there's many of the Clyde team today can say the same.
  5. Cove 3-1 Clyde East Fife 1-1 Dumbarton Falkirk 1-2 Airdrie Peterhead 1-2 Montrose Queens Park 1-0 Alloa
  6. We seem to be playing a more expansive game recently. Jamieson and Cunningham have made a difference. Much more enjoyable to watch. Long may it continue.
  7. After the self inflicted week from hell I really cannot be arsed with this. Heading out soon to the match but with little to no enthusiasm. Though, I can't see anything other than a Clyde win.
  8. Clutching at straws? I was against signing Goodwillie 5 years ago and I was against it this time. I make no excuses for the idiotic decision of the Clyde board. I always knew they'd be consequences to such a stupid action. North Lanarkshire Council have a perfect right to do what they've done. I only seek an answer to my question. Do North Lanarkshire council employ anyone who has been accused of rape or violence towards women? It's it policy not to employ people meeting that criteria? For example, how many NLC employees have had domestic or sexual violence entered as a factor in their (civil) divorce? Do the council employ anyone who has been convicted of domestic or sexual violence anytime in the past? Perhaps the answer is no to these questions. I don't know but I'd like to know. I repeat, I am not making excuses for the actions of Clyde or Goodwillie. I'm asking about NLC. It's not whataboutery, it's querying hypocrisy and the council's grandstanding. If you set yourself up as PUBLIC moral custodian you must, at least, set your own bar as high as you set it for others.
  9. Do North Lanarkshire Council employ anyone who has been accused of rape or other violent crimes towards women or is it prohibited by council policy?
  10. Good post. My only worry would be some of the same idiots would be on the relocation working group and we'd end up in Ukraine.
  11. I agree. I have lost all confidence in their judgement and ability to be custodians of the club's future. The question is who replaces them? As far as I'm aware there's no one standing in the wings. A major sponsor and other high profile Clyde fans are arrogantly culpable in this debacle and can't be trusted. It's a mess.
  12. There's a football match taking place? Who'd have thought Clyde team chosen by North Lanarkshire council to win 3-0
  13. Is Goodwillie banned from all NLC gyms, libraries and community halls? Is Alex Salmond? Is Ronaldo banned from playing football in North Lanarkshire?
  14. I'm someone who was against the re-signing of Goodwillie. The majority of the supporters I sit with were against it too. We're potentially going to lose our stadium and our club. The idea that the team you have supported since a child's actual existence may be under threat because some idiot sponsor and his mates wanted their favourite player back.
  15. Don't worry fellow Clyde supporters. To paraphrase some of our idiot fans, the hoo-ha will only last a couple of days.
  16. Celtic involved in civil action about sexual abuse at the club. Celtic deny responsibility. Celtic B play at the Excelsior stadium. I'll await North Lanarkshire's response if the civil action goes against Celtic.
  17. I have no problem with the Ladies Team being unhappy with Goodwillie return. I admire their stance as I do with anyone that makes a moral stand on this issue (except John Mason) Am I wrong though, to believe the team was formed whilst Goodwillie was already Clyde player? Perhaps they formed before that and I only became aware of their existence recently.
  18. Alloa 1-2 Airdrie Clyde 1-1 Falkirk Cove Rangers 2-1 Peterhead Dumbarton 1-1 Queens Park Montrose 2-1 East Fife
  19. Did the board make the decision based on what is best for the club or were they put under pressure by a particular sponsor to re-sign his favourite player? We're the one club in the whole world with sponsors that threaten to remove sponsorship if we DIDN'T sign Goodwillie. Absolute nuts.
  20. I think you'll find the majority of Clyde fans who are against his re-signing base it on the current climate and publicity storm about Goodwillie and the negative focus that it brings in the club. Goodwillie should have every right to continue playing football. I've never disputed that. However, given the current situation, it's doing our club enormous damage re-signing him. It's simply not the same as before. I really don't see why others cannot see it. The cost is so much greater than the benefit.
  21. How do you think this will play out over the next few days, weeks and months? Will it have an effect on our ability to bring in sponsorship? Does it do our reputation long term damage? It's it worth it for a 33 year old striker coming towards the end of his career?
