  1. Cutting the playing staff, not the squad. That includes all the young guys on full time contracts.
  2. You can't keep everyone who might have "something" to offer but I'd be happy enough with Niskanen staying. He's been better played further forward in his natural position and is versatile enough to fill in as required elsewhere. He's also a genuinely good guy, I think, with a great work and team ethic. That must be worth something even if he's not the best technical player in the world. Reminds me a bit of Paul McMullan in terms of workrate and lack of ability.
  3. A lot of interpretation going on in that thread. In any event, the very fact that someone feels the need to analyse which one is better should be sufficient to tell us that Eriksson is not good enough. "Arguably less shit" than the worst goalkeeper in the club's history is not what we should be aiming for.
  4. This seems like a very bad idea. There was a point when Eriksson seemed to be an even worse keeper than Birighitti (if such a thing is possible). Whether one is marginally better than the other is almost irrelevant: even to be in that conversation should be enough to see both of them leave immediately. I think they'll both go and my preference would be for all three to go.
  5. Newman certainly doesn't look ready to be second choice so if he's staying then it should be as third choice at best. Is that enough for him? I think it might be better for all concerned to let him find another club at a level more suited to his current ability and concentrate on bringing in a number 1 and experienced back-up. Ruaridh Adams can step up to third choice.
  6. Yes, and I expect you'll get unanimity on that one. Birrighitti wasn't the only weak point in the team but he was the worst and singlehandedly managed to destroy any burgeoning confidence in games many many times.
  7. Bold to presume that I couldn't have honoured that bet, although the stake did go to Revenue Scotland, tbf.
  8. Obviously it's not wild that they'd rip up Watt's contract.
  9. Yeah, there's not a single first team player who wouldn't be waved on their way. I like Levitt, Behic, Middleton and Fletcher but these guys will all be on a good wage and have been part of the most ridiculous shitshow. If they want to go, then they can f**k off. Same goes for pretty much all the rest of them (albeit there are young guys who haven't played and so can't be held responsible - they're welcome to stay). I'm sure Goodwin would be delighted if every single c**t left and he has a clean slate to start again with.
  10. You would think that was the most ludicrous but it doesn't even stand out on its own. We've genuinely seen half a dozen goals like that this season, with another dozen just behind them in terms of outright incompetence/comedic self harm. Check out the first goal v County in the very next game, the first goal v Livi, all three goals v County at home, the first two goals v Killie at home and there are many, many more. If some guys eventually get caught and imprisoned for deliberately throwing these games I hope we'll get an asterisk v our relegation season.
  11. Yeah, from my perspective we have improved in terms of structure, patterns of play and intensity under Goodwin. I preferred to build a new shed this afternoon than watch another game so can't comment how that went but otherwise we do look better, albeit there seems to be a madness gripping the players the last few weeks. I'll put that down to a chronic lack of confidence and one guy in particular almost deliberately fucking things about.
  12. Are you familiar with the Dunning Kruger effect, Boredom?
  13. Ach now, come on. The suggestion was that you're a much more astute judge of character than Ogren not that you'd be better at running a football club.
  14. Courts can get fucked. Proper weirdo and the football was boring as f**k (albeit well organised, etc.).
  15. You've got his card marked though. Boredom: 1 Massively successful businessman: 0 With just a bit more luck you could have been the guy making these sorts of decisions.
  16. I can live with it being Goodwin and it's good that we've made a decision early. I can see why those who don't follow United might scoff (and I scoffed my arse off at his travails at Aberdeen) but I don't personally think that this is down to Goodwin. We've lost so many goals due to bizarre goalkeeping and other individual errors, things which you really can't account for. Players wandering off their line and saying "after you Claude" to the opposition, standing on their goalline with the ball at their feet and contemplating the meaning of life, remarkably beating four players in your own box and then deciding to dribble around another couple for shits and giggles. Their heads are fucked and have been fucked all season and he didn't recruit these guys or f**k their heads. If Goodwin has correctly diagnosed the problems (the keepers are shite, most of the defenders are shite, there are no ball winners and an appalling lack of depth up front) then I'm prepared to see how he goes about fixing the problem. An early announcement at least suggests that he and the owner are on the same page and we can expect decisions to be made promptly. Better that than letting a (potentially/arguably) decent guy walk away and then having to filter through the usual jokers and chancers whilst other teams are preparing for the new season. Edit: Hey Homer, rather than running around red dotting opinions you don't agree with, how about you post a polite rebuttal you bell-end. We might make progress that way. NB. Not really, I've had you blocked for ages you boring, fucking knob.
  17. Never a red in a million years. Muirhead has his arm around Akinyemi's throat and appears to be trying to strangle him. Perfectly justified in pushing him forcefully away and probably justified in kicking his head in (although that probably would be a red card, minimum yellow).
  18. Will United go for it? Hardly seems worthwhile. I reckon we'll see a load of kids getting some minutes and all the guys who Goodwin has given up on allowed to fuck off early. Might struggle to fill the bench.
  19. I remain unconvinced about Goodwin but suspect that a fresh start is required either way, whatever the mitigating circumstances. Neilson can fuck right off.
  20. The decisions were being made elsewhere in the building by a man who apparently thought he knew better. The window had long since closed before Goodwin came in and that man fucked off.
  21. Nice one. Sort code: 60-70-80; Account: 10019456. Let me know when it's been sent.
  22. I'll give you ten million to one if you're interested?
