    no more so than Ennis hill would have picked up the Yorkshire vote, or 'petrol heads' voted for Hamilton last year (though didn't seem to bother their arse this year). Murrays achievement was arguably the greatest.

    I don't think it is ridiculous for a transport minister to have to resign over this. Of course he isn't tightening the bolts on the bridge but ultimately he delegates responsibility to people who do. Ministers have resigned for less.

    Given Andy has won SPOTY before, it would be nice if Jamie was nominated instead. The best player Andy has beaten in the Davis cup this year is Gilles Simon, good,but hardly the next Bjorn Borg. The doubles have been the most important aspect IMO. I don't think Andy or Jamie will win anyway, personally think it's between Ennis and fury, probably Ennis.

    Question times in northern Ireland are horrific. They should just broadcast them in NI.

    the problem with those countries isnt that their tourism industries are disasters or, indeed that they have poor manufacturing sectors. It's that their governments, particularly Greece, were spending money like it was going out of fashion.

    Other service related industries like tourism are the answer, not manufacturing stuff that can be made cheaper elsewhere.
