  1. Big rumour going about that Vaughan could be off to Dundee Utd. Surely to god if we have any ambitions the board won't even consider it
  2. I've said it for the past year that we have too many in the team who think they are better than that are and two of the worst are Davo and Bene. They believe they are superstars who should be playing at the top of the championship. There is also the attitude and it's become far too obvious that most of the squad think they're far better than most of the players in this league and just need to turn up. At home that can get away with it but away you can't and it's been shown for the past 16 months in this league. I honestly don't know what the answer is. We really only have 3 players who can or will play central defence just now and the best one is sitting on their bench. We have no proper right back and a carthorse in midfield. Arbroath are mile ahead of us in terms of fitness and attitude and that's what really should hurt the players. Sadly I don't think most of them give a damn.
  3. Listening to one post match McGlynn interview makes more sense than all of Barry Smith's combined....I thought Raith TV had made it illegal to talk about the players and tactics The best thing about McGlynn today was his end of interview saying if you can put on the youths when can you. The total opposite of Barry Smith and why this club will now strive forward and win this league. For the first time since McKinnon left I can't wait to go to Starks next weekend!
  4. Listening to his interview on the OS the biggest thing he said to me was the need to get video analysis back. I wasn't aware we'd stopped that...was that a decision by Smith or the board? Sounds like he's learned more especially since being at Celtic. By god the players will realise how much of a holiday it's been working under Smith by the end of this week.
  5. This appointment will win us the league. No matter what style he plays one thing guaranteed is he'll make us fitter. So often I've moaned since last summer than part time teams looked as fit as we did when that should be the main thing that sets us apart.
  6. Wardy is already away out doing taps aff laps of the Bevie Park in celebration
  7. Was told he was there yesterday just to scout some players for Utd
  8. Just had a quick look and it took us until 24th February this year to drop our 2nd amount of points at home last season and that was our 14th home game. We've now done that after only 4 homes games this season and we've now played the 3 teams currently bottom of the table.
  9. Pretty much this. Players looked all over the place and seemed to just be deciding what they wanted to do. To end the match with 3 strikers, Vaughan playing sweeper at times, our left back on the right wing (albeit he stated there) no centre midfielder but a midfielder in defence....all whilst players on the bench capable of playing those positions. Shambles really is an understatement! I really do like Cuthbert and you could see at the end when the players sunk to the ground that they wanted to win it for him but that's maybe the problem. It's the same problem Murray had. Far too close to them and unable to look at the bigger picture. Murray has shown himself at Hibs to be an excellent coach and maybe it will be the same with Cuthbert. What we need is an attacking thinking manager who will utilise the forward players we have in the right way and at the same time will not take any shit from players like Davidson. Also someone who will stop Vaughan from being a greedy shit thinking he can score free kicks from 40 yards out.
  10. Oh god no. He was the youth coach at United and was told stories which show his managerial stance would be much like his playing days. He'd be a disaster.
  11. Cuthbert to be appointed on Monday with the board claiming the players are right behind him and he was unlucky in the last match with the injuries. Shambles of a club top to bottom with the blame for everything lying right at the feet of the board. To not even interview a manager yet is honestly embarrassing.
  12. Is Superhans actually John Hughes? It would explain his pure hatred for Cuthbert
  13. Disappointed with the news about Barry Robson no longer being considered and preparing for him to be given a chance at a rival soon and doing a Jack Ross or David Hopkin. Id definitely take Petrie but if he's not an option then for me we should be going cap in hand to Lennon. So to sum up anyone but Jim Duffy.
  14. Because that's been his tactics his whole managerial career. He's not suddenly going to change and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.
  15. Can't wait for the Duffy appointment and then the inevitable complaints on here when his long ball tactics don't work given the players we currently have.
  16. Honestly would sum the Rovers up if we gave it to Novo. A club with zero leadership from top to bottom and no direction. At least Cuthbert won't get it after today.
  17. Any other club I wouldn't believe it but with the ex board members involved in giving the contract to Smith I can't say I'm surprised if this is true.
  18. That's my thoughts. He struggled out of a division against part time teams and Morton won the league with only 69 points. To put that in context since 2000/01 season only 3 teams have won the league with less points... Stirling in 2009/10, us in 2002/03, and QOTS in 2001/02. I may be wrong but I'm also sure that it took them until the final day of the season to actually win it all well. So he's hardly "guaranteed" to get us out the league. All in all Duffy would be along the same style as Barry Smith and completely uninspiring. Folk are suggesting Goodwin but only cause Alloa gave him a chance in management and he proved last season he was good enough.
  19. I'd far rather have a go with Barry Robson than than a Jim Duffy or serial failure Paul Hartley. The guy played at the top level in this country along side some superb players and is now working under one of the best managers. As others have said he's been linked to a few jobs over the past year so if he has decided were the right club for him to move onto then I'd be delighted.
  20. Mixed managerial record for Clark. Did decent at Killie and had a great record at Huddersfield but Birmingham, Blackpool and Bury were all poor although all 3 had bigger issues off the pitch which wouldn't have helped. Been out of work for a year though so have to question why nobody else has given him a chance.
  21. The most interesting point in that interview is when he says Smith had basically becoming increasingly unhappy at the club. To be honest he might have been upset and moving back from a facility like Michael Woods to Starks but he should have been grateful to have still been in a job as most managers would've been sacked at 5pm following the 3rd Alloa match. Good riddance is all I can say. All this talk about bringing in a player but we have no idea who it is. If it's some 34 year old right back like Gary Irvine thank god we put a stop to it. As others mentioned he wanted to bring in the Bulgarian defender from Dundee when we had McKay and it took him about 2 months before he finally had no other option. If Sim had told him to make better use of our youth set up then good.
  22. Not saying they can't bring in their own man but are they asking the right questions and looking at the right qualities as they've probably never had to do this previously in their jobs.
  23. This. Has anyone on the board in their previous jobs ever had to interview and then appoint someone to basically grow their business? Instead we have ex public sector workers and accountants who whilst probably good in their own field just don't appear to have the requisite skills required to run a football club.
  24. I see it the other way. Yes it could be more attractive and after the transfer window shutting it's not ideal but we are a decent sized club and certainly the biggest club in this league which we have to be looking to win this season. What other manager can walk into a club like that just now? Some managers might see it as a risk which could end their managerial career...or some could see it as chance to win a league.
