More than 90 minutes. He came on last week late on and started today but I think if Ross was fit he'd have been on the bench again. We only have him for another 7 months. How much time do we need to give him? Murray must clearly think he is up to speed as he's put him straight in the term despite the fact we won last week and scored 3. He will just be another Nando Mendy. A guy who you can't even call a footballer signed for his physical attributes rather than anything he has done with a football.
Judging a player after 1 game is ridiculous0 -
Spot on. But I think that shows he isn't good enough unfortunately. Reminds me of when we signed Milne a few years ago in League 1. Sometimes players just can't take the step up.His problem is he over complicates things and isn’t quick enough to recover. He got a bit more freedom at the level below but in the Championship you need to be sharper. He needs to play the simple stuff first and foremost.1 -
We need to give Frederiksen time. He's not played for months and never had a pre season so he needs to get match fit.Pathetic performance Morton deserved the win.
Looks like Murray has signed another dud too. After all his talk of not signing players for sake of it and waiting for the right players he has signed McBride, Connell and now Fredrikson for the forward positions and all three look utterly hopeless. Can't see where the goals are going to come from especially with Gullan now injured.
As for Connell he's absolutely hopeless and nowhere near this level. He gets bullied off the ball, so can't hold it up, and his finishing is complete powderpuff. I'd honestly cut his loan short now.
McBride hasn't had too much of a chance but again looks not good enough. Too lightweight and little end product.
All in all its been a sobering first 10 games and our away form looks alarming. We clearly don't have the ability and mentality to grind out results and take a point. 6 defeats so far, 4 of them away from home, shows that.1 -
As sickening as that was I really do think Morton were better than us today. You need to actually have a shot at their keeper to win a game but once again we seem incapable of doing that.

That moment showed he's not good enough at this level. He's literally in on goal with the keeper to beat but wants to cut back.Easton inside the box with only the keeper to beat - tadger.
Clearly a silky player but does not understand the concept of simple football.0 -
I'm sure for one corner in the 2nd half we had Liam Dick marking him. Surely we knew they'd try and aim for him at set pieces but it seemed we were cluelessHighlights reflect the game pretty well, that's probably a 0-0 if we defend the set piece properly.
You'd think when the entire team are brought back for corners, that we could put more than one man on the one consistent goal threat all afternoon.0 -
I hadn't seen Eze before obviously but at the start he looked a bit nervous and I thought it was made for us to try and drag him about and go at him with a little bit of pace. In the end we played exactly to his strength and he absolutely bullied Connell out of the game. After a fairly nervous start to the game ( 15 - 20 mins) we started to boss the game and didn't let them settle on the ball and looked the far fitter of the two teams.
Played a high line and it worked... Well done Eze - hopefully this will boost his confidence which has been suspect before today but it's a no brainer having him in the mix at corners and set pieces. The whole team looked up for it - the way it should be - but Dom and Mal deserve mention.
Top of the league after Tuesday? - Play like today and it's likely...
Even at his height to allow him so many chances at set pieces and not come up with any plan to stop it is absolutely criminal management from our point of view. He'll be a bit gutted he didn't score more today probably.0 -
Really poor today and you simply cannot win a game of football if most of your supposed "better" players have off days.
Easton and Connolly were both really poor today. McBride was absolutely anonymous and the less said about Connell today the better. It shows how bad he was that on numerous occasions Brown and McDonald were both going absolutely mental at him after he was bullied off the ball yet again. He looked like a player completely out of his depth.
As others have said we started the game better and Stanton was really unlucky not to score. Him and McDonald were the only 2 who started and deserve pass marks.
We've now played all teams currently above us and bar the Ayr game the other 4 matches have been pretty much the same. Huff and puff with little end product and up against a team which is just better than us.
Queens thoroughly deserved the win today.1 -
Signing to be announced this week. The work permit is almost granted but due to the bank holiday it might be delayed until later in the week. He'll be training with the club now though and desperate to get kick started.
1 -
And who would you have brought to the club instead?Based on the dross that Murray has brought into the club so far I don't think he sets a particularly high bar when it comes to the calibre of his signings.1 -
I don't agree with this at all. He didn't look as comfortable as his first season but he was also being shunted around into different positions. Fitness might've been an issue at the beginning when he was coming back from his injury, but I didn't see anything to suggest laziness or a bad attitude.
And that's what healthy debate is all about. I honestly thought I saw enough to suggest he really didn't fancy it especially from January onwards.0 -
I think Rovers fans seem to forget how poor Musonda was for us last season. I have no doubt part of it was down to McGlynn but he looked unfit, cumbersome and lazy at times. Had a very much "can't be arsed" attitude which was a shock as he was superb for us in his first season.
Glad to see he's picked up this season and it appears last season was a blip. He always seemed a good guy and the more I think about it his attitude was probably down to the atmosphere which had been created at the club last season.
As for the match it's the first time this season I've gone into a game with zero expectations. Ayr are flying so should win this comfortably. If our new 6ft8 striker gets his work permit then I'd given him a start along side Gullan and try something different as if we play the same way we have been trying the last few weeks it'll end in the same way. Not that we have been playing that bad but we just have zero cutting edge at the moment.1 -
I can guarantee its true. Just waiting on the work permit coming through.Any of these rumours have credibility?0 -
I heard that he's going after targets which we realistically have little chance of getting but wants to try and see if he can sell the club to them. So that rumour would make perfect sense.I've heard Murray tried to sign Doidge on loan from Hibs and Marc McNulty but couldn't get either of them to agree i.e. we couldn't afford them basically. Maybe he's setting the bar a wee bit too high there but kudos for trying.0 -
Seriously get a life pal. You'd probably fall into a pit of gold and still moan that you hurt yourself in the landingI'm not saying the fans shouldn't celebrate a win but plastic stuff like that from Murray is embarrassing.1 -
I thought that was an excellent win today. Until we went 2 up Morton were only there to try for a draw whilst trying to kick our players about. The first half was awful and I think it was partly down to Morton (and the ref) constantly breaking up the game meaning there was no flow.
Once we scored the first there appeared to be a relief and that meant we were able to get the 2nd. Some stupid and naive play for them to get the free kick for the equaliser but to hold out and get the win showed guts for what is a pretty young team.
That result will stand us well this season. Looking at the performance two weeks ago to that today was night and day and I think we will only get better.
I also loved Murray at the end showing the emotion. It's been a tough few weeks so delighted for him that the hard work paid off.3 -
Words fail meHe's got next week to show he can turn it around, and the board should be having a quiet worse with him to clarify that defeat next week is unacceptable.
I am convinced he'll do worse for us than Gary Locke. He's that bad.3 -
Give it a bloody restGullan is a decent league 1 player no more. Exactly the sort of player Murray seems to love right enough.
Ross fluffed a glorious chance and, just like every other game this season, had zero end product. His corners would make Dan Armstrong blush.
I can't think of a single positive thing Easton did anywhere near their goal. The guy is the ultimate luxury player and absolutely not what a team in our position needs.

Glad to see this has descended into the usual nonsense on a Saturday night.
Imagine being 2 games into a season and calling for the manager to get sacked. Our "fans" really are the worst at times.5 -
Can we all please calm down. 2 games and some have us relegated already. We only got 1 point in the first 2 games last season and has just conceded a 4 goal lead. Nobody was questioning things then like some are now.
If come October we are in the same boat then fair enough but we have a new manager who's just brought in 2 defenders to play together and needs time to bed in his own ways. The problem with our fan base, and it's always been this way, is folk want an instant impact and expect greatness from the word go.0 -
Some of the overreactions here. Folk need to take a step back and calm down. Look at the big picture. Last week was poor and was due to a number of factors. This week far from being great was a more positive performance than last. I am therefore hoping, and expecting, next week at home to be even better.
I think we need to take a bit of pain just now and look at the big picture. It would help if some fans didn't overreact to ever single result as well.0 -
Thought we didn't play that bad bar the first 10-15 minutes when we simply didn't start. Jamie at fault for the goal and no idea why he was trying to rush a goal kick to Connolly to win in the air.
Once we settled down we played better and as soon as Easton game on we looked much better. The first time this season it looked like we had a structured team with Stanton looking much better not having to anchor the midfield.
Clearly we need a striker so no point going on about that. Got to trust either Connell gets in ahead of Gullan and can do it or we have someone else lined up.
As disappointing as it was to lose today I'm actually more optimistic than I have been after the last few weeks. We have 2 actual real and proper centre backs now who will only get better together with more training and matches. We created chances and Connolly looks like he's stepped up another level. Been our best player two weeks in a row now. Next week is a big match as we're at home against a team we need to be beating if we want to have any success this season.0 -
Dundee are better than Cove and will create more. So unless we suddenly have a defence next week the result is only going one way.

I have to say that today gave me the F E A R as Ian Brown would say. We had no commanding player and whilst we played ok football at times we got bullied for the actual game.
We are miles off this league right now and I've never felt as down about a season after today as I do right now0
