Not sure how you can turn this decision on us not getting another few hundred more fans to turn up. As others have said if we are that desperate that we need to sell Tait for £100k at this point then there are much bigger underlying issues that a few more fans wouldn't solve. The timing of it is the fucking shitter. I think if Hibs came in for him at the start of the summer, got the deal agreed and we got him back on loan, maybe with another player thrown in, I don’t think anyone could have argued too much. but at the eleventh hour and just buckle and agree is a quite hard to take.
We move on though. No point fucking crying about it. If we had a regular support of 2500+ every single week, transfers like this wouldn’t happen as easily…

What you need to ask is why has the fee been declared as undisclosed. That means one side didn't want it public and I highly doubt that's Hibs.Paul McCabe on Twitter saying his sources at Rovers don’t know where this 100k figure has come from. Doubt we’ve gotten much more tbh and if the sell on clause is only 5% then we have messed this up big time.0 -
If Tait had been out of contract and signed for Hibs this summer we'd have probably been awarded more than we've now sold him for when he has 3 years left. You actually couldn't make it up!
I'm actually waiting on them pushing out a reason of medical bills here as well.0 -
The reason I'm angry is it just appears like the club have time backwards and have started taking the fans for granted again. You cannot spout the ambitious nonsense and then do something like this which is the polar opposite of ambition.Sounds great! Sign me up! [emoji102][emoji23]
Honestly. You’d think someone’s just died. It is indeed pish, if the fee is the reported 100k then everyone does have a reason to be angry and of course questions need asked of the board. But let’s just settle a wee bit here.0 -
I don't understand the benefit to the club in selling now but getting the loan back until January or the end of the season. Why not reject the bid, publicise it, and then put a succession plan in place for January when you can sell him on your own terms to Hibs or to whoever else?
January is four months away. Is his value going to plummet in that time? Only, you'd assume, if he picks up a serious injury, but that's a risk you run at all times, as we know better than anyone. You might just be able to bring in other interested parties, though, and spark something of a bidding war. If Hibs are keen, I'm sure other clubs will be too.
He's got three years left to run on his deal. I'm absolutely sure he's keen to go, but this is what happens when you sign a longer term deal. Sometimes you have to be patient.
It's not about standing in a player's way. It's about maximising the value of an asset, and any future assets.
Look at St Johnstone letting McCann go for £1m yesterday. They've absolutely had their tummy tickled. Next time they've got a player who's ready for a big move, are clubs going to come in with serious money, or will it be tummy tickling time again?
That's exactly it. What benefit is there to agree this deal right now. Makes absolutely no sense.0 -
As I said all the owner etc want us to become is a community club who finish mid to low table in the Championship every season. Absolutely no interest in pushing the club forward. The chat of ambition is only to appease the fan base.

What's the bet we're waiting on the loan deal being ratified before it's all confirmed.

Trust it to be the Rovers who are still waiting to confirm the sale of one of their best players nearly 9 hours after the window closed. Amateur hour once again at Starks. What an absolute shambles.

Got to ask as well what ambition Tait will have now. Can hardly see him going in for 50/50s in December knowing he's going to be going back to Hibs for a winter break training camp somewhere in January.
The more you think about it the more absolutely insane the sale looks. Can't think of one reason why we'd agree to it.1 -
This confirms we have zero intention of trying to get promoted. We want to be a lower Championship club who "flirts" with promotion but ultimately stays down and tries to stay comfortable. The problem is that always leads to relegation.
The club have learned absolutely nothing and once again the fans have been taken for a ride. Disgrace0 -
Genuinely if it's £100k then that's an absolute disgrace. The goodwill the club has built up over the past few years could go in an instant. Smacks of a complete lack of ambition.

If we do still him would love the club to explain the rationale behind it. Absolutely no need to sell him today of all days

At moments this like how it affects us really is immaterial. Personally I'm absolutely devastated for the guy. He's a fantastically talented footballer and by the sounds of it a great personality off the pitch.
I've no idea how mentally you can cope with the constant set backs. What he should know is that he has the full support and is in the thoughts of not only our fan base but the wider footballing community.3 -
Ffs some of the reactions here [emoji23] Shit happens sometimes. Nobody has died and the match will be replayed in a few weeks probably. Folk need to get a grip. It wasn't too long ago that a match was postponed at 3.45pm at East End in July after a bit of rain fell.

Not much more to say other than that was absolutely brutal and we got exactly what we deserved. Would love McGlynn to explain what the hell his tactics were today.

Think you're pretty much spot on.Can't agree with the assessment of the manager that we did okay in the first half, and a tad concerning that the plan was to keep things tight and compact.
That said, interesting to hear that he described some of our play in the 2nd half as "ridiculous" and "unprofessional", when referring to the goals we lost
Its just incredibly frustrating. Hearts played exactly how they did last time, and we played into their hands.

Definitely not going up. Missing Matthews and Musonda is huge but Mendy and King are awful and should be nowhere near this team. I still don't know what King actually does.
Yes 3rd is great and we'd all have taken it but it's a bit like being 3-0 up, drawing 3-3 and saying you'd have taken a point pre match. After where we were McGlynn has bottled it again and has to take the blame.
If we now end up losing to the Pars it's going to be an extremely disappointing end to the season.0 -
Tonight's set up was a disaster. Absolutely no need to put Mendy in. And last week we be decided to ditch the passing game and punt it long for 85 mins allowing Dundee to look like Brazil 1970. That is all McGlynn.

Pretty much this. McGlynn has to take full blame for the past 6 days disaster. This is a bottle job from Raith. Fair enough being pumped by Hearts. But the capitulation of the way they've done it.
McGlynn has shat the bed with a ridiculous formation after allowing us to look like Barcelona for 75 minutes last week.
Long may this continue for another couple of games! We were 4 points behind a week ago.0 -
Great day for McGlynn to shit the bed and revert to his 2010 tactics of hoofball.

Anyone praising Mendy I suggest you watch that part in the highlight for their free header. Mendy literally leaves their player and runs to the front post for no reason.
Horrendous performance tonight summed up by Tumilty for their 2nd goal. Yes it's only one game but the lack of effort tonight was really worrying. Poor attitude from start to finish.2 -
Wasn't he reluctant to take the role in the first place?

How many times do I need to say this. The Courts are only open for emergency cases and there is a very limited list which that covers. A football club trying to claim they were unfairly relegated is not listed. After Dundee’s vote allegedly went awol there was never any doubt what way it was going to turn out. Hope Partick take it all the way through the courts. Your local Sunday league amateur committee would run circles round these clowns in charge of our leagues. I’ll say it again if that is sporting justice then I’m finished with football. I agree with Charlie Nicholas a computer expert should be sent into the SPFL headquarters and deliver us the truth of the fake yes no vote.
Unless technology is involved (which would potentially require legislation) then cases of this nature will not call probably until August at the vet earliest. The only way they could get it would be an interim interdict to essentially suspend the vote result but once the first sum is paid out tomorrow that won't be allowed.0 -
Hadn't realised that but that's some statExactly this. Especially considering the number of injuries we have had all season which only just started to clear before things were called to a halt.
To be top of the league most of the season with arguably our 3 best players (S. Anderson, Hendry and Vaughan) only playing one full game together is an excellent achievement.0

What an absolute joke. Clearly the undisclosed nonsense is our doing especially with the "there are clauses built into the agreement that will see Raith Rovers benefit as Dylan progresses in his career" crap.
What a way to alienate your fan base in one go. The club will never ever learn!
