  1. The fact we failed to qualify from that group is laughable and even more so when the team we would have replaced in the draw go to Ibrox in the next round.

Agreed on this. We should have had 9 points with today's match being meaningless.

The teams that are expected to do well in the league this season all qualified as well so we are already playing catch up I feel. We need additions within the next 5 days as we can't be going into next week with that bench. Thought today also be showed that against a good team we'll get picked apart with Brown in defence.

  2. Having screamed for offside for their pen it was inside having watched a replay. Foul on Zanatta for second however. We have played some good football. Fan wise I’ve had a fan in-front of me scream abuse over and over at Zanatta as he’s playing well and putting in effort. Calling him a lazy c*** as he’s just sprinted from their box to ours to cover for dick.

Truly embarrassing, A couple of us have had a right go at him. Sums up a lot of our fans though doesn’t it.
Nobody will care, but the two players who aren't currently injured you'll see pretty much every day doing extra work are Zanatta and Connolly. The others will no doubt do their bit in their own time to elsewhere. It feels like there's folk absolutely desperate to put down him, Dick and Millen. I've been guilty myself of putting down players, maybe I'm just mellowing out a bit as I get holder. But it's completely pointless to tell someone that they're shit week in week out. Nobody is saying that you can't be critical of players. Just don't be a c**t.
Sorry but really disagree. He's been really poor again today and hasn't kicked a ball all year.

No way I'm having you compare Connolly's work rate to Zanatta.
  3. Got to love Rovers fans. After Wednesday's match we were going to win the league and now we're getting relegated.

As others have said this is still pre season. The crowd for both matches shows that as well with a lot of fans I suspect away on holiday. If we are playing the same way and losing matches come the end of August then perhaps reason to panic but I'm sure the reinforcements will arrive.

It doesn't help we have 4 players who would be starting every game in the stands just now. What was interesting yesterday was Matthews saying how he played through the pain barrier for most of last season. I think that says a long about our former management team and I guarantee Falkirk will see the same "unlucky" injuries this season.

  4. I had dealings with Bene through my job (non-football) during the 19/20 season and can't say anything other than he was a thoroughly decent and likeable guy.
I just hope he's going to do the right thing and ask to wear the number 51 on the back of his Pars jersey.
Can only echo this. Any time I ever spoke to Bene he was down to earth and it never seemed like a chore. He gave up a lot of his time for kids and RRCF as well.
  5. No shock Bene going. Murray at press conference was specifically asked about 3 players namely Spencer, Tumilty and Bene. He said Spencer had been offered a deal, didn't even talk about Tumilty then said he'd speak to Bene. Clearly wasn't for him.

He was a good servant to us and always tried and wore his heart on his sleeve but at the end of the day his not of the quality we now need to move up the league. Shame about who he's joined but he leaves with zero ill feelings and best of luck for the future (just not any promotions!)

  6. What is the issue with folk not wanting Brown? He may not have the experience in the dugout but he would command instant respect in the dressing room.

McGlynn had zero experience as a manager before he came but folk seem to completely forget that. He then didn't manage for years but again folk didn't really question that when he returned.

We aren't going to get a brilliant experienced manager without potential flaws. It's either going to be an experienced ex pro looking for their first job, a manager from leagues below looking to step up or one from the usual crew of the washed up or sacked brigade.

  7. Listened to Sportsound podcast from yesterday, all about how poor the players have been etc and not one mention that Hughes has literally done exactly what he did at the Rovers.  He's still untouchable within the media.
Exactly this. Nothing in any mainstream media about how Hughes is to blame. It's literally a carbon copy of what he did to us and he's getting let off again.

No doubt if he leaves you this summer his media pals will still be touting him for any Premiership job that becomes available.

Listening to his post match interview it's like a Greatest Hits of his pish patter.
  8. What makes this better is all us Rovers fans literally told you what would happen.

  9. If Karen McCartney's role, as CEO, is not to deal with footballing matters or contracts and deal with building the business side off the pitch, in my opinion, she is not a CEO. Compare her to someone like Leanne Dempster at Queens Park and it's night and day.

Now if her job is to build matters of the pitch and encourage investment then that's absolutely fine but explain that to the fans very clearly. However also give her an alternative role or title like Business Development Officer.

It's this type of miscommunication or simply lack of communication that leads to discontented with fans.

I had heard before it was announced that we were bringing in someone with a view to generating income to help build things from a community point of view so when I saw we then had a new chief executive I presumed, as most did here, that she was having a far greater input than planned. Clearly that's not the case.

  10. Just when you think we can't be any more shambolic.

What football club has a CEO who isn't involved in any footballing contracts. If it was he case that it was a conflict of interest then why was she hired in the first place. Or if she specifically wasn't given that duty then why call her CEO when clearly she's not.

    It's absolutely embarrassing just now.

  11. Hearing a rumour that Smith was offered the job but turned it down to remain an assistant. If correct then any rumour of McPake is a load of nonsense as club clearly have no plan in place. If also correct then it makes our "Chief Executive's" position untenable in my opinion. That's no longer any conflict on interest but how can we believe that she had no idea he husband was negotiating a new job with another club behind her back.

Also heard a small rumour that Benedictus and Spencer have agreed to join Falkirk and that are trying to agree a deal with Tumilty.

The discussion of McGlynn or no McGlynn is no longer an issue or relevant. The fact that he's gone and we might now lose our captain, right back and main central midfielder at the same time is an absolute disgrace and nobody on that board should remain in place.

HR expert on the board! Don't make me laugh.
