  1. Efete is more likely a reaction to Randall's performance as the backup right-back against Partick Thistle. Borrowing the @capt_oats format, I think these are the options available to Adams, starting with the line-up he used at Livingston:- That midfield better start scoring some goals.
  2. Is there anything to be said for another midfielder.
  3. Phew, that goal was a bit against the run of play. Livi have had so many more clear cut chances since the equaliser. ETA I really am the jinx tonight.
  4. This Livi side look down and out… but they also looked like that in Dingwall and chored a point. ETA: aye
  5. Maybe Adams won't be signing Yann Songo'o in this window, but he's got Songo'o's pretender instead.
  6. Ayina played on the right of the back-three for United against County, in the post-split match last season. I know Jordan White scored a hat-trick of tap-ins against them, but I thought Ayina looked very good then, but also quite raw.
  7. A bit erratic but he struck me as someone with a lot of potential. He wasn’t shy in making forward runs.
  8. I thought Mikey Fraser had stood up for Adams in the past? If the likes of Higgins, Craig Curran and Chris Millar are happy enough to pipe up with an opinion, there's no chance that the majority of the squad are happy to put in maximum effort for Adams. I think the line-up vs Thistle was deliberately B-team-ish, and Adams alluded to giving players a chance and they haven't taken it. However, in a league of such fine margins among the diddy teams, the caustic man-management isn't going to help anyone.
  9. It’s not going to get better from here. One can’t successfully deflect by continually throwing the club and its players under the bus.
  10. @Matty-RCFC No, I forgot to replace him after I started to make that line-up!
  11. The line-up could be anything, but with Baldwin out it'll be a back four. I can't go, so I look forward to what is usually the best edition of Sportscene in the year. Pure guess: Wickens Brown | Nightingale | Leak | Borthwick-Jackson Allardice | Khela Sims | Dhanda | Murray White I want to see Henderson get a burn in the starting XI, I'm confident he would be more productive in the final third than Sims.
  12. On a more positive light, I've heard second-hand that Brandon Khela is one to look forward to, going by his brief time at the club.
  13. Adams used him on the right of a 4-2-3-1, with Slew on the left and Mellon up front.
  14. What a question Arquin had more to his all-round game. Hiwula is more one-dimensional. Arquin is moody but if motivated can be a match-winner. Hiwula is a confidence player.
  15. Hiwula! Looked great in his first pre-season against lower league opposition. Pace, movement, flicks, goals. Then he came up against Craig Halkett in his league debut. Barely touched the ball since. Malky Mackay gave him five starts at the beginning of last season but there wasn't enough of a hint that he was going to hack it. He offers a threat in behind but can't play with his back to goal. Given the amount of times he has been shunted to the wing in his career, because that would seem the logical thing to do if he can't play up front on his own, he plays like it's the first time he's ever been asked to think about marking a full-back or wing-back. He might thrive next to a target man in a 3-5-2 but it never clicked with Jordan White.
  16. That was rumoured in the summer. Two left-backs remaining, at least. A slow start to the transfer window is soon going to change to rapid acceleration.
  17. Would love to go to for a beer with Bevis. I can't comment on the rest, I never lasted beyond the Spitts celebration.
  18. Clarke was recalled from County and sent on loan to Hibs. He was meant to be on loan at Hibs for 18 months but that was also cut short for the Stoke sale. So yes, Arsenal do have form for this.
  19. Mind that time when Fergie and Ketts signed the release papers for Stelious Demetriou, so that he could be closer to family (in Cyprus), then he signed on at Macclesfield where his uncle lived.
  20. Adams had Purrington at Plymouth, so Adams knows exactly what he's getting. It is one less position to think about when coming into a club mid-way through a season. I don't know what Purrington's injury was at Tynecastle but I guess Harmon will be in the team now. Purrington is absolutely fine. He doesn't have a quick burst so he can get done on the counter, but he is the 7/10 type that most managers crave. Harmon has higher peaks but lower troughs, having not played so much football outside non-league stuff. I've no complaints about Purrington playing ahead of him when Jimmy Brown is such a dynamic full-back on the other side.
