This is what they should have said first time.

Still a bit frustrating that he was clearly getting priority over 5 long standing season ticket holders in the ballot, mind.

I don't think that statement is anything like good enough and if anything only muddies the waters further.

They still haven't acknowledged that they have broken the COVID rules, they seem to think the whole fuss is simply because it is George Galloway and that had it been a slightly less controversial "celebrity" we'd all be fine with it.  Their actions amount to sticking two fingers up at not just our supporters but supporters of every club in the country who have been unable to attend matches.

The fact the person in question is a despicable rat is unfortunately just the cherry on top of a completely laughable and inexcusable exercise.

  2. What time is the third apology apologising for the previous two apologies being released, I'll get the popcorn in!

They very clearly don't understand why they need to be apologising in the first place which is why their words are so wide of the mark and empty.  There really is no way back for them from here, absolute embarrassment.  And that pathetic last paragraph basically turning the blame back onto the fans is incredibly insulting.

  3. Galloway is trending on Twitter and this farce is being reported across mainstream media. So it is mission accomplished from his point of view.

Lord only knows what the club were looking to achieve from this absolute shambles.

They have very naively been played like fiddles by Galloway, and as is usually the case when a football club has a massive balls up it is the fans who suffer.

This is not going away and there are certain to be repercussions.

The first thing that needs to happen is the club have to take ownership of this mess and retract that ridiculous non-apology.

Beyond that I think a change of regime is now essential for the future of the club. But that won’t happen overnight, if at all. Who would want to take us on in our current plight?

Confident we'll get a win here but there's always a degree of concern when opposition fans are so adamant that they'll lose: Falkirk and Cowdenbeath fans in particular have been horrendously guilty of talking down their teams in the past only to show up and take all three points.

It'll be interesting to see how we line up. Jamie MacDonald went off at half time yesterday and I doubt we'll get an update until tomorrow on whether he'll be fit for the game. Duku took a slight knock (which seems to happen every other week) but Lokotsch got among the goals too which will give him a bit of reassurance.

After this one, we've got the Pars away, Dundee and Caley at home, Hearts home and away. That's a tough run of games by any stretch but we've already caught more than a few teams by surprise.

Please see below for reasons why we are adamant we will lose.  We are not talking down our team, if anything we are being optimistic by mostly suggesting a 2 or 3 goal defeat.

After 9 games, the Gus team had 8 points and a goal difference of minus 3 (9 for 12 against).
This shower have 4 points and a goal difference of minus 15 (10 for 25 against).
So they have half the points total, have scored one more goal and have conceded 13 more.

In the games we have lost (which have been to all 7 of the full-time sides) the longest we have held out before going behind is 40 minutes. The shortest is less than 1 minute. The average is 18 minutes. The numbers are - 1, 12, 12, 19, 20, 20 and 40. (I have taken a goal conceded in, say 21 mins as meaning we held out for 20 mins).
Results against the 7 full-time teams P7 W0 D0 L7  7 goals scored 24 conceded, so conceding an average of 3.43 per game

  5. Yep pretty clear from this Twitter thread that he was an invited guest of the club https://twitter.com/EuanMaxwell93/status/1343172205216215040

Not that my support was really amounting to much these days anyway, but I will certainly be stepping back my support from the club until there are big changes at all levels of the management of the club.  Absolutely rotten to the core at present.  I don't think the board could be more detached from the fans if they tried.

  6. I think Gus at least acknowledged we were really poor and tried to make us stuffy and hard to beat.  Obviously it didn't work, and the problem with such a strategy is as soon as you go a goal down your plan A is gone and we didn't really have the ability to successfully apply a plan B.  We were at least competitive in some games under Macpherson, not least when drawing at Pittodrie.  I wouldn't trust Allan Johnston to drive to Aberdeen unassisted, never mind picking up a result there.

I find it hard to show any interest in an organisation that thought it was acceptable to have 3 signed defenders on the books, it really is brexit levels of self-harm and surely the worst decision our club have ever made.

    Oh wait... 🙄

Of course in normal circumstances, a change would have been necessary long before now.

These aren't normal though.  I'm not saying that in mitigation for him - far from it.  I am saying, however, that these circumstances might be dictating the club's response.

Stop trying to characterise what I'm saying as a defence of AJ's record please , because it's not one.

I didn’t mean to, I wasn’t really sure your angle which was why I asked, I understand now.

I did think you were attempting to defend him, which surprised me.

I pretty much agree, but in itself the above doesn't necessarily scream that as a club right now, a change must definitely be made.

Saying that AJ might have to remain in post, is not the same as saying he's not been awful.  He has been and there's no evidence whatever to suggest he's equipped to fix things.

Out of interest would need to happen in your eyes before a change definitely needed to be made? 1 win in 2 calendar years?

  9. Poor budget/players is a cop out, and exactly the sort of crap he comes out with.

Managing Queens and complaining about a poor budget is like going swimming and complaining about getting wet.

Writing the season off because with have poor players is a pathetic loser mentality. If everyone shared it we might as well scrap football and hand out the trophies based on what team has the most money in the bank.

A competent manager will at the very least have his players organised, working hard both individually and as a team, and following clear instructions. If we at least looked like we had a game plan I don’t think we’d be half as annoyed by the current predicament.

It’s not the players’ fault. It’s all on Johnston for being hopeless at his job and the board for allowing him to remain being hopeless.

  10. Not being able to afford to sack him may explain the decision (I’m not convinced) but it doesn’t clear the board from criticism, quite the opposite in fact.

Finding ourselves lumbered with a dud manager that everyone knew was a dud manager before he was appointed really has to be the most ridiculous circumstance we’ve ever found ourselves in. Pathetic.

  11. Having a shit manager and shit players is nothing new for anyone that has followed Queens for any great length of time.

It’s the silence and apparent disinterest of the board that is of real concern. Not to mention the deafening silence in a season that has so much that could be said about it.

I’ve not bought a PPV match since the Raith debacle. It’s a real shame as the production is fantastic, but I have so many things I’d rather do with my time than watch a disorganised rabble of supposed footballers make the same mistakes week on week. If the board can’t be arsed then I don’t see why I should.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we were to “do a Brechin” and tumble down the leagues.

Jeez cant believe so many want to waste so much of what we've got paying off Johnston. He had such a harder time as our club rightfully waited till as late as possible before doing their business. We have done things properly and at the end of the day we didn't gamble on our future as some clubs may have done. What we have is a group of a mix of talented young players and some who are just not good enough. It was always going to be difficult. People here are so impatient! I know our form is wretched but we have saw signs, including yesterday that we arent that far away, despite having such an inexperienced squad. There is no doubt we need to look at defensive options in january. Whilst the 500k payout is most welcome, in some ways its frustrating because the others who gambled WAY more than they should are getting bailed out, but we who lived within our means as everyone should have done are left in a more vulnerable postion in the league table due to our sensible approach.

  13. Never has the phrase "rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic" been more apt.

Giving Dobbie a partner would clearly be beneficial given how the rest of his Queens career has played out, but aside from that as Flash points out we still have the same problems throughout the rest of the team.  Not to mention the real key issue, which is the loser that is in charge of them.

The prospect of the three defenders we have in our squad, one of whom looks like he doesn’t ever want to tackle anybody, combined with the midfield that is the easiest in the league to play through trying to defend for 90 minutes is probably worth paying to watch for the lolz. But I’m not going to.

You forgot to mention the manager that has all but conceded we'll lose this game a week in advance.

This could honestly be a massacre today.

Accepting our paths haven’t crossed with great regularity but apparently we haven’t beaten Hearts since 1963! Nailed on QOS win emoji23.pngemoji102.png

I remember some time back playing Hearts in the league or Scottish Cup. Steven Leslie scoring an equaliser just before half time and a great roar from the crowd for the goal!
