  1. Nail on the head. That's been our achilles heel for too many seasons.
  2. Good starter. Hope you're right with the first bit.
  3. Ok, our pal jimbaxters has been bursting at the seams waiting for me to start this , so now that the 14-team "mad competitive" West Region super League Division One is no more, it's time to start the thread for the 16-team "hopefully just as competitive" West Region Championship 2018-19. Below is a list of all the teams taking part in the first ever season of the West Region Championship :- (in alphabetical order) Arthurlie Benburb Craigmark Burntonians Cumbernauld United Dalry Thistle Darvel Juniors Girvan Irvine Victoria Kello Rovers Kilsyth Rangers Larkhall Thistle Neilston Juniors Rossvale Rutherglen Glencairn St Roch's Whitletts Victoria Your opening thoughts ? (Naturally to be cast back at a few people throughout next season, of course. )
  4. The Northern League is in England. The SFA does not have any jurisdiction over leagues in the English pyramid.
  5. Yes it is. We played Shildon pre-season last year and they had just won the Northern League but knocked back promotion because they couldn't afford it.
  6. My understanding is that a licence is only required from tier 5 and above.
  7. Seems a fairly good and understandable statement to me.
  8. Correct, I am currently preparing a report for my club regarding the possible requirements for Entry Level club licensing, should it become a reality for us and, from my detailed analysis of the SFA Licensing Manual, it certainly isn't something we as a club should be scared of.
  9. I didn't think so, but I wasn't certain. So if the juniors are incorporated into the pyramid at tier 6 as seems the most likely scenario at the moment, there is really no rush for any club to get a licence for at least two years, as the promoted sides from the top junior leagues at the end of 2019-20 would be the only ones who would need a permit at that stage. Am I correct ?
  10. Is a licence required to operate at tier 6 ?
  11. I can't believe anybody has addressed the really big issue here, i.e. Tom Johnstone's blatant and unprovoked use of the word "promulgated".
  12. The English pyramid has lots of different associations, all with their own governing bodies, but all ultimately under the FA banner.
  13. I noticed that as well, it confused me for a while till I worked out what the error was.
  14. I doubt any of the parties at the meeting will rush to tell P&B what was discussed.
  15. Perhaps he helps the West Region meet their constitutional fixture issuing.....
  16. They don't actually play in Ardeer, they play in Stevenston.
  17. But not the leagues below which feed into the West Prem ? How does that work ?
  18. It was mentioned on here plenty of times, on both clubs' Twitter and Facebook feeds and websites, and also advertised in local shop windows.
  19. The only bit left of the old Southcroft Park is a bit of wall on Glasgow Road, ironically the bit of wall I used to sit on as a kid.
