On a positive note amongst this gloom, several Falkirk fans have said we're the best team they've seen this year and will be 3rd or 4th. Given they do not often go out of their way to praise us, that sounds positive. Saying that, I wasn't at the game as I live in London...

Think you read that the wrong way. What I meant was why did Ambrose stitch up MB, who is a friend, by turning up late? Not why didn't Marvin play him when he arrived late. Marvin was being stitched up, not Ambrose. And by binned, I mean dropped, which Marvin has already pretty much said is likely to happen. I like what Marvin is trying to do here. And I don't expect a linear progression. We're night and day from last year.

Much as I live Marv, he has to shoulder some of the blame here. He played a keeper who got home from Greece at 4am the day before the match, who admits he didn't even know other players names and who had no chance of knowing how the defence plays. I find the whole Ambrose thing strange. Who stitches up a 'mate' like that (unless he had a valid issue, in which case why didn't Marv start him. Maybe ge literally arrived 5 mins before the match). Surely it would have been better to play Cowie who at the least had 2 proper sleeps behind him and knows the team? Also worried by his comments that some players think they know best and didn't follow the plan. After I assume 3 wins where the plan worked that is strange behaviour. Those guys need to be binned.

Your post implies that Gibson has somehow been poorly treated. Given Marv picks the team, the inference is by Marv. That is then added more by a pointless guidance from Father comment, well knowing that his dad was replaced a manager. It conveniently forgets to mention the pre-season injury and lack of training as a possible reason. I think the comment re sinister forces was a bit tongue in cheek, but your post unsubtely inferred that Marvin had an issue with him.

Not sure if Hibs being pumped by Villa is that surprising tbh. There is night and day between the money Villa have and Hibs. Also I think it is too soon to say Marv is ready. This is his first managerial job and he only got to pull his team together in the summer. 4 games is too soon to form a judgement. There is no doubt he is better than Gibson, but that was a low bar to exceed. Proof of the pudding will be games v Falkirk, Hamilton and it looks like Stirling Albion. I'd be surprised if Hibs came for Marvin even if they get rid, and I would be disappointed if Marvin accepted.
