  1. Cheers for that. Got me checking the last time I was up there - 2005. A pano from 2005. Been on An Stuc in winter conditions, only had an axe at the time, went out and bought crampons the following week
  2. Ah right, I just had a guess from your first shot. I was down where the players enter the park for the last 10 mins. I hope you noted the best trees in the league, at least that's something WW can brag about
  3. If you were behind the Camelon goals first half and are bearded, grey on top and slightly, ehhh, rotund then you're in one of my photos
  4. Just my tuppence worth as it was the first time I’ve seen them this season apart from the psf at Easthouses. Thought WW competed well enough but they look a very young inexperienced team and prone to defensive errors, starting with the first goal after about 20 mins. This is the sort of scoreline that wouldn’t have happened last year with Musa in goals. Camelon were a bit more physical and had a bit of pace up front especially the no 7 Bevan I think, a real flying machine. I’m not one to criticise refs but today’s ref let far too much go at the start which set the tone for a very physical game. He needed to get the cards out at the first time of asking when Fyn Connor the WW captain took a sair yin. That’s not to slag off Camelon as WW were able to dish it out too. A right good cup tie for the neutral.
  5. What, you mean the young woman who was on Facebook wanting to start a petition about ‘the local footy team’. She seems to come from around Manchester. Or the petition itself, badly worded, even saying Whitehill were ‘near Rosewell’. So the centre of the village has moved out by the bypass where all the new housing is Or the cooncillors jumping on the bandwagon. That Tory Pauline Winchester’s never been near the park, correct me if I’m wrong. Just for the record, I think WW shot themselves in the foot by signing him in the first place, but I think Penicuik apologists like you are being economical with the truth..
  6. Oh aye, forgot Tbf, the guy brought up the west himself. Where, like it or not, the LL is just not relevant to a lot of people. Otherwise it would be a different story from me as there’s a few well supported teams like Tranent and Bo’ness. There’s plenty quality including your own lot, Spartans, Strollers, and also Gala, Shire, Stirling etc on their day. Been a keen watcher of the LL since it was formed but less so since it lost WW and Bonnyrigg.
  7. What @Spyro said. Also getting around the WOS Prem/First Division by train is a dawdle compared to the HL so you can enjoy a bevvy.
  8. Point taken. Still more interesting than Engelbert Humperdinck though…
  9. I’m sure the scoreboard at Easter Road was like a big box on the terracing and the guys actually went in at the back and put the scores up from the inside. At Ibrox the letters were round the perimeter wall and a wee man came out with a wheelbarrow and put the numbers in. I seem to remember being somewhere where the whole board slid down till they put the numbers in, then they hoisted it up into place.
  10. Saturday 13th: Greenlaw FC 4-2 Tweeddale Rovers. Border Cup First Round, W.S. Happer Park, Greenlaw. Greenlaw progress fairly comfortably into the last 8. Scorcher of a day but found a bench in the shade of a tree. It helped that they were selling cans of beer at £2 a pop.
  11. Had some great trips to the Vale when I was with Whitehill, you could depend on a dram off the Vale committee. Great wee place, nice couple of pubs. Coincidentally I have to visit the Swifts new park to re-complete the EOS.
  12. Lewis & Harris League: Stornoway Athletic 0 Point 3. Goathill Park, Stornoway. Point effectively wrapped up their second consecutive title, 6 points ahead of Ness with 2 games left. P14, W14. I headed for Lochs v Carloway at Creagan Dubh only to find they had rearranged it without telling anybody, due to a shortage of referees. There has been a bit of abuse of officials recently Nipped into town and missed the first 20. Aths had been reduced to 10 men after 7 minutes after what was described by both sides as a brutal tackle by left back Harry Bray. Saw all three goals although Point won at a canter on a midgey night against a very young Aths team. 3 quid by half time collection. On a personal note, got a bucket list photo of a player sinking his head into the ball
  13. Definitely Connor as my mate was there. He also took this photie which has the numbers of the subs
  14. Bonnyrigg’s exactly the same, and as they’ll proudly tell you whether you ask or not, U12’s go free with a paying adult for the 14th season in a row.
  15. Hope you made it up to the San Fergie tonight Andy. A proper fitba ground and your team defended their point like their lives depended on it.
  16. 4 years since we were down there with WW and beat the Stan 5-1. Thought it would be a great season and ended up relegated from the LL... Great setup, 3 cask beers too
  17. Got a new iPhone recently. No idea how I got a 1 second movie followed by a jpeg but they show the first goal pretty well. IMG_7351.MOV
  18. Edinburgh Uni 0 Bo'ness Utd 5 from a pleasant night at East Peffermill with a few of the EOS regulars including @tamthebam. A full LL card on last night but this was my nearest fixture and a chance to see how Bo'ness were shaping up including Musa the goalie signed from WW. A hat-trick from Jamie McCormack, another from Dan Watt and a penalty from Declan Hughes saw off the Uni who defended boldly but it could easily have been double figures. Crowd was about 170.
  19. Cmon Tam where’s your arty photos from last night!
  20. Was watching one of them tonight, Mussa in goals for Bo’ness. As well as being in a poor league for crowds next season, a lot of the home games coincide with Bonnyrigg being at home too.
