  1. I rate Rennie more than Rusty. Just give him time, he’s been injured a lot recently after all.

Martin is an enigma wrapped up in a conundrum .. I know that’s bollocks but .. he has talent and a cracking left foot .. but he’s been awful since he returned and was poor prior to his move to Ireland. Don’t forget he couldn’t get a game for us at that point. Unless there’s something going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about I’m struggling to understand why he’s still on the books.

Rusty is a lazy so and so .. possibly because at 10 foot tall he didn’t have to do much to score when he was a kid. That said, his goals to attempts ratio is impressive and is why Morton are looking at him, I assume. If he could motivate himself enough to start dishing it out to centre halves .. he’s way too soft for a centre forward ... he’d be every bit as good as Lyndon Dykes.

So, if I had to choose between the two right now I’d go for Rusty.

Ideally, both stay and Martin rediscovers his mojo.
  2. Absolutely delighted to get Blair Lyons back on loan, excellent signing for the club along with Mark Whatley 2 really good additions to the squad. If we can get Cammy to sign again that would be brilliant and the last piece in the jigsaw for me.Big rusty if he signs then fair enough but if he doesn't not overly fussed.

What’s the story with Cammy and Rusty? Have they got other offers on the table?
  3. Oh well didn't see that coming Lennox and Fleming re-signing for the next campaign.A honestly thought after the Airdrie game we wouldn't see Lennox in a Montrose shirt again.
Would have kept 1 of them and tried to strengthen in that position but will just have to make do not the end of the world.
Now let's try and Get Cammy Ballantyne over the line, cracking player if we have to push the boat out a bit to keep him we 100% have too rather than lose him.

Retaining both keepers seems a strange decision to me as neither has inspired much confidence over the season. Hopefully, SP has a cunning plan. I assume Cammy and Rusty must have other offers under consideration which raises the concern that one or both may well end up leaving. Not sure how I feel about who we’ve got signed up other than we desperately need a bit of extra pace and nous up top.

  4. When you put it like that ... it’s been a remarkable period of time.

And .. on a purely footballing level .. 4 of the team that played in those games against Brora are still first team regulars .. including our current top goal scorer. Just goes to show what a decent manager can do.
  5. The 2014/15 season saw us finish 5th in a Championship containing Hearts, Hibs, Rangers and Livingston and very unluckily lose in the Scottish Cup Final. The same season, Montrose had to overcome a first leg defeat to Brora Rangers to win the 2nd leg 3-1 to remain in the league pyramid.
Now reflect on the fact that over the short period of time since then Montrose are a better team than us and think how badly our board have run our club.

When you put it like that ... it’s been a remarkable period of time.
  6. Thought we thoroughly deserved the win. Very poor in the first half .. barely strung 3 passes together, which is unusual. Got the feeling we gave Morton too much respect and they looked a bit sharper without really creating anything. SP must’ve got into them at halftime because it was pretty much one way traffic in the second half. I was surprised how poor Morton were. Both Airdrie and Cove are much better sides. That said, we’ve been here before and ran into Stephen Dobbie ... so still a long way to go.

  7. Please expand on the “Clyde route” and it’s relation to our “entitlement”?

Clyde were a big team in the 60’s .. over time they dropped down the leagues .. thought they were a big team and dismissed the demotions as a bit of a blip. Moved to a ground they didn’t own .. suddenly discovered that they were not as big a team as they thought .. even managed to lose 8-1 to a seaside league team.
  8. Entitlement. Surely after watching football for as long as some of us have were quite entitled to call a shite standard of football shite.  Any half decent manager could've had us out this league last season never mind this one. It's an incredible achievement to manage to produce such an awful team on such a competitive budget. The fact that we lead the league at all despite how fecking awful we are sums up the standard perfectly.

Entitlement = thinking you deserve better than that which you currently have. I agree with you .. with a half decent manager you should have been promoted last season and possibly this. Of course you’re entitled to vent your frustration at your management team. That’s completely different from the sense of entitlement/superiority that a vocal section of your support seems to have when it comes to the rest of this league.
  9. It is a seaside league mate. It’s fucking tragic. Thistle have played well for the month of April and won it with a game to spare 🤷🏼‍♂️
Ps it’s affectionately called the seaside league by fans of all clubs, that’s not exclusive to us [emoji1303]

Fair play ..the seaside league thing is a good wind up. I’m happy to be avoiding Club 42 again.
  10. Because thats exactly what it is. Its a fucking stinking level of football which makes the fact we are even here even worse.
We know we are shite. Its an absolute fucking embarrassment and we are rightfully getting a ribbing from every other diddy club who are at least clinging to some form of minimal expectation.

Thing is .. in your words “It’s a fucking stinking level of football which makes the fact we are even here even worse” .. exposes your sense of entitlement. Time to wake up .. otherwise you’re going down the Clyde route.
  11. Why do people continually come on here to tell us we are in this league because we are pish? If anyone knows how pish we are it’s us. We told everyone we were pish when everyone else thought we were overreacting.
Please no one else come on here and try to tell us this. We know [emoji1303]

It’s because we’ve had to put up with your patronising “seaside leagues” pish for the last two seasons.
  12. As a Mo supporter of 50+ years I can understand your pain. That said .. from the outside looking in it does look like you’re going down the same route as Clyde. A “big” club with history that shouldn’t be in this league. Frankly, you’re not. Some of the nonsense your support comes out with is Sevco’esque. You’re down here because you’re not good enough to be anywhere else. As for the playoffs .. if Cove keep Megginson fit your fkkd.

  13. Result was what I expected before kick off. Cove are a very tidy team who seem to rely entirely on Megginson to score their goals. The first was very well executed .. the second was well taken but a bit of a disaster defensively for us. No complaints .. we were well beaten and I hope Cove deservedly go up via the playoffs. Much better team than Falkirk.

  14. I don't have a problem with Rossco starting, he's been making cameos of late, but what does it say for the confidence the management team have in Rennie?
Did realise the number Antionazzi was wearing, Hawke really hasn't pulled up any trees in his time at the club has he

Martin has done nothing since his return and tbh very little in the lead up to his move to Ireland. Was astonished we got money for him. Suspect he’ll be gone over the summer. Hawke has been poor so no surprise if he’s going/gone. Think SP is going to have to pull a few rabbits out of hats during the close season to bring in the extra quality we need.
  15. Got what we deserved .. two defensive mistakes .. end of story. I can only assume Rusty was injured and Hawke has been ditched (Antioniazzi had his shirt on tonight) .. only explanation for Rossco starting for the first time in two seasons? Airdrie were the better side for the first 20 mins and deserved to be ahead. After that it was 50:50. No complaints with the end result .. we look fkkd. Can’t wait for this season to end.

  16. Opinions on cammy ballantyne? Rumours going around that we’ve signed a rb on a pre contract and his name has popped up.

Best RB in the league IMO. Always get 7/10 from him and usually more than that. Would be a big loss if he was to go but I’ve no doubt the lure of full time football would be hard to turn down. If he goes he goes with nothing but best wishes and thanks for the memories.
  17. This is what worries me. If we don't make the top 5 we are in a relegation dog fight to avoid a play off at the wrong end of the table. Top 5 is still possible .. albeit unlikely given that the team is fkkd. Even if we did make it there’s zero chance of doing anything if we get there. I’d rather we muddle our way through to avoiding 9th or 10th and regroup for next year.
  18. Only three games to go until the split. Three hard games against teams sitting 2nd, 4th and 5th.
All teams capable of taking points off of one another so it's going to be nip & tuck to see who gets into the top 5.

Have the feeling that Saturday is a must win for us. Anything else will leave us wide open to ending up 6th. Too many draws in the last 6 games has cost us big time. Been poor v Clyde, Fraserburgh and last night. That said we usually end seasons well.
