  1. I will never ever understand the huge extension we gave to McKenzie, just a baffling decision for a player nobody would ever try and purchase. I sense he will go with way of Mikey Hewitt (another contract beneficiary) who is languishing on the bench for Hamilton Accies most weeks. Hopefully McGeady hangs his boots up in June as well, the legs have nothing left unfortunately.

  2. I'm sure Albinson wasn't happy at being dropped and may have voiced his frustrations but for me he was dropped purely on form. The clanger at Dundee United wasn't the first one he's had this season and I'm sure Bullen wanted to see what he has in Mutch. Is Albinson a better keeper than Mutch? Yes. Did he give Bullen an opportunity to drop him? Also, yes. Is it time for Charlie to be back in the starting eleven? Definitely yes!

It was the height of the leg of McGinty in the challenge. When the replay was shown, the commentary crew changed to agreeing a likely red. The immediate reaction of the ref was digging for the red, no delay, no thought, so he saw the challenge from a pretty good angle, and could see exactly where McGinty’s foot/leg was versus Easton. As several others note, after the ref has talked to you and not given a yellow moments before, a reckless high challenge is mental.

Why did the ref even speak to him? It was Dempsey who made the challenge on Vaughan.

First time at Somerset on a while,  pretty impressive structure going up,   what's the plan,  6 rows of seats and increased hospitality,   pretty high roof, don't think that will keep the rain off the north terracing....   Hopefully be finished for next time we visit..

I hate not being able to stand in it but I am enjoying seeing the massive changes in it every time I visit the stadium.

It's almost as if he actually watched the game today and made fairly sensible decisions. I am, quite frankly, stunned by that.

I was certain McKenzie would be introduced at some point.

Amartey and Smith done well when they came on, although that was obviously a forced sub with Murphy going off. The game passed Dempsey by (which it more often than not does imho) and I thought he should have gone off but overall Bullens subs weren't mental. Which is good.

Have to disagree on Dempsey, I thought he was a controlling presence in midfield.

Pretty consistent in losing goal from a corner, passing fairly safe and no shooting accuracy. Ayr took their one chance in first half and certainly had openings in the second but seeing Fordyce upfront in that last five minutes was a reminder how we used to do that with Sean Crighton and equally in effective.

I know we hit the post and had some scrambled chances but our front three is lacking .

Bottom six struggle looks certain and real battles ahead.

Do you usually not mark the opposition's only striker?

  7. A very welcome three points.

It was hardly an inspired first half performance but we got the goal at the right time and managed to see the game out until half time, although Airdrie can feel unlucky not to have scored. I have absolutely no idea how Dowds found himself in so much space at the corner but it was a well-directed header back across the goalkeeper. I thought the game largely passed McGeady by and i suspect he might have been hooked at HT were it not for Murphy having to go off early doors.

Second half we looked far more purposeful for fifteen minutes and we were unlucky not to double our lead. It looked like some last ditch defending down the Railway End but it's impossible to tell from behind the goals. Pleased for the boys to get it over the line - i think we might need some practise at time wasting as we're not very good at it!
