  1. Oh yeah totally understandable, i think i'm developing a dog crush on Renton, love that wee guy
  2. Yeah Keeley the Boston is the same loves running and chasing tennis balls with no regard for her own wellbeing, sometimes its tough having to step in and take the ball away in order to let her calm down a bit, being a dog walker can be nerve wracking at times.
  3. I walk a Boston Terrier that just can't help but hurt herself, luckily the owners are cool and understand.
  4. Started reading Raw Spirit by Iain Banks, its about whisky and his search for the perfect dram, good read but it's impossible to read without a dram in hand, i finished off a 18 year old Knockando last night, not a whole bottle by the way, i reckon my whisky shelf is going to take a pounding as i'm a slow reader and a fast drinker.
  5. New boiler installed, two days without heat or hot water, just running a bath and pouring myself a dram
  6. Must admit i got a bit emotional when i saw them in Amsterdam a few weeks back, as did James, they had just finished a cover of Frightened Rabbits keep yourself warm, he was expressing his appreciation to the sold out crowd and teared up, spoke to him afterwards and he said it was a combination of his joy at seeing a crowd loving the gig and of course thinking of Scott.
  7. In all the years we've had Monty he's never had his own bed as he always wanted to lay on my chest or legs, got him a bed last week (weirdly its got a shawn the sheep logo on it) and he loves it, he's hardly moved in the last week
  8. Back from a week in the highlands and the boiler isn't working, waiting for kettle to boil so I can have a wash.
  9. It's still part of the Paradiso, they usually have small to medium sized gigs there, haven't been to the big Paradiso in a while which is a shame as its a great venue. He's so entertaining! I love his mumbling chat between songs and use of caption cards.
  10. As far as i'm aware there is only one room, it's a newish venue located across the river behind centraal station you need to take the ferry, are you maybe thinking of the Paradiso just off Leidseplein? Great show he played his new album in full then a selection of tunes from his solo stuff
  11. Saw Gruff Rhys tonight at Paradiso Noord in Amsterdam, as per usual he put on a great show.
  12. Ha Uitstekened! I was there with my dutch father in law!
  13. Fort William 0 v Rothes 5 I've been staying up in Torlundy the last few days so headed along to see The Fort in action, Rothes knocked it about quite neatly in spells which was quite impressive given the state of the pitch, good day out in a gorgeous location.
  14. Doubt he's ever done it, would explain the bizarre behaviour
  15. I heard he slapped a red panda once, a total omnicunt of a guy
  16. Sounds potentially like post brexit Britain
  17. Have any P&Bers ever tried to convert a lost tribe?
  18. The Twilight Sad were incredible last night
  19. The Twilight Sad tonight at Paradiso Noord in Amsterdam, its a sell out, can't wait. Saw them for the first time about 10 years ago in a tiny venue over here in front of about 20 people, they put on a great show that night, and every other time I've seen them, i'm sure tonight will be no different
  20. Echo and the Bunnymen at Tivolivredenberg Utrecht, I've wanted to see them for years but just as I was getting into them in the 80's Ian McCulloch left the band and Pete Defreitas died, managed to see McCulloch live at the barrolands around 89/90, so when this was announced I was really excited, initially they were supposed to be playing with a string section who pulled out without explanation a few days before, this annoyed me slightly as hearing songs like ocean rain and the killing moon with strings was a big reason for buying the ticket, anyway the gig itself was really good, the band were tight and McCulloch was in good form and Will Sergeant's guitar work was lovely, only downside was it made me feel a little old, at one point I turned to my mate and said "ah this is a newer song" to which my mate replied 'this song was released over 20 years ago" where does the time go eh? Oh and the venue is like an Escher drawing I got lost twice going to the toilet.
  21. Nice one, i love the felice brothers was gutted when they cancelled their last tour but glad Iain is fit again, they haven't played over here for a few years but fingers crossed maybe get to see them if they tour the new album
  22. I'll never tire of hanging out with my main man Monty although i reckon he's tired of me sticking a camera in his face, probably why he wakes me at 5am everyday
  23. McDonald has been great since SSC arrived, fair play to him as he could've spat the dummy and left when Woodman was being picked ahead of him
