  1. Last year around this time I gave a crow a bit of a dog treat and he/she would meet me at the same place everyday and follow me for part of our walk, about a month ago he reappeared and follows us right round the park, yesterday a woman asked if the crow was with me I replied yes, she laughed as if I was joking so I bent down with a treat in my hand and he took it, the woman was suitably impressed, I feel like I should name the crow, any suggestions?

Exactly the same behavior here for a very similar age and condition. Much more interactive and vocal now. Always wakes up, saunters over and demands petting or climbs in a lap. Also howls like a banshee to get us to trickle a faucet so he can get “fresh” water.

Haha yeah the climbing up for a cuddle happens very frequently these days if it fits he sits, last night he was on my chest I dozed off to the sound of his snoring.

  3. I'm continually surprised by the resilience shown by this little guy, he's 16, has kidney issues, arthritis and an over active thyroid but is still trucking along, he sleeps a lot and has days where he won't eat much ( bloody loves boiled chicken though ) but is still pretty active and has a mad turn every couple of days, he's also becoming very chatty in his old age, I know that in the not too distant future it'll all catch up with him but for now I'm spending every waking minute hanging out with him, fell asleep with him on the sofa last night and woke up with a sore neck but it's totally worth it.

That's the best news I've heard in a while.

It was one of the worst experiences of my life(which is quite the statement given my footballing allegiances)

The only part that still needs some work is the baggage situation but if it's a stopover i imagine you won't have to deal with that side of it, I've been through Schiphol 3 times in the last few months and my girlfriend travels a lot for work and we've had no issues getting through security, it's still not perfect but it's much better than it was.

  5. I'd choose Leiden over Den Haag, as @welshbairn said Haarlem is also a nice option used to live there and head through whenever I get the chance, if you do go to Haarlem check out Jopen brewery.

Also the security situation at Schipol seems to have improved considerably since last year.

  6. I'll admit I feared the worst when I saw the team sheet - I couldn't work out how we were lining up defensively, wasn't sure if it was a back 3 or 4, it totally threw me but what do I know I was happy to eat some humble Killie pie, think there was a bit of lingering fear from me after the first half of the game last week.

I thought Chambers and Watson were great and Alan Power was back to his very best ( I've always been a bit of a Power fanboy ) the whole team put in a great shift also thought Vassell led the line really well and hope his injury isn't anything serious.

And well done to St Mirren on securing a top 6 finish.

  7. They've had something similar here in The Netherlands for years, at midday on the first Monday of the month they test it you get an alert on your phone and the air raid sirens go off, I've lost count of the amount of distressed tourists that have approached me wondering what was going on sometimes I have a laugh at their expense and say it's the apocalypse, I suppose if you live in a Country that is mostly below sea level something like this is quite a sensible idea.

Brilliant, thanks very much for that mate. The hotel is on the 'other' side of the conference centre I think:

    Tommaso Albinonistraat 200, Zuideramstel, Amsterdam

If it's not any rougher than Ayrshire I'm sure we'll be fine...

I hadn't appreciated how much prices have gone through the roof since the last time I was there, but to be fair that was probably 10 or 15 years ago.

    Cheers again for your advice.

Amsterdam in general is really safe just back from Glasgow and a day in Ayrshire for the Killie game took the Dutch guys I play football with they loved it despite the score.

I think there's a metro stop really close by, it's crazy flat as you probably remember so is great for walking about and yeah the prices have gone up considerably.

Feel free to fire away at me for more advice if needed 👍

Heading to Amsterdam in May with the missus for 4 days and looking for somewhere to stay. I've been a few times before with friends, but I expect this trip will be a different affair given the company. She smokes a bit, I don't any more really (but, when in Rome!), so we'll do a bit of the coffee shop thing, and have a walk round the red light district so she can see for herself, but I reckon we'll probably want to do some cultural stuff, eat/drink etc mostly.

There's a (relatively) reasonably priced hotel near Amsterdam RAI that looks the part, but I'm not familiar with the area. Does anyone have any advice on that? @stevieKTID would you be able to help a Killie brother out?

Definitely fancy the Glow mini golf place after reading this thread.

The RAI itself is a conference and events center but on the Scheldestraat there are a few bars and restaurants there's also Knijn bowling alley on the Scheldesplein which I've been to a few times.

It's well connected you can be in Centrum with the metro with 15 minutes or so there's also the tram but that takes a bit longer, you're also only a 15 minutes walk from De Pijp which is a rather cool area.

If you do head towards De Pijp and like a steak check out Loetje on Ferdinand Bolstraat and next door you have a local brewery called Troost.

Never realised @Melanius Mullarkay played the ol' fitba in Netherlands too.

edit : Nearly 50 and still the best taste in footwear. Some going, Stevie!

Cheers mate I was going to go with the Gel lyte lll OG but they're green/ grey which didn't feel like the right choice for the Killie v Celtic game.

No disrespect to Professor concrete but I've seen the video of the Dundee 5s and I'm a far superior player 😎 should've taken my boots with me on Sunday.
