I can't see anyone that watched Cadden last season being interested...I think he is playing at his level to be honest. -

Yip...print edition. Seen it on the back page this morning -
Not actively against the promotion of the language, but dont really get the dual-language signs or the emergency services vehicles being in both English and Gaelic...particularly in the lowland areas where, there will be next to no Gaelic speakers. In fact I'd imagine there are far more speakers of Urdu or Mandarin than there are Gaelic speakers in Glasgow and the West.

OK...I'll re-word it...I don't think Cadden is good enough at the moment for Scotland, and I'm not sure he ever will be. It seems like a lazy call-up by the fud in charge...Tait is better on the right than Cadden is, and Campbell is better in the middle. -

I'm as big a Motherwell fan as the next guy, but thats a mental call-up in my opinion. Hes nowhere near that level, and I'm not sure he ever will be. That said, I hope it puts an extra spring in his step this weekend -

Scotlands last genuine world class player?
ONeils40yarder replied to RobbieD's topic in Tartan Army Ramblings
I dunno...what it definitely proves though, is that 'would he get into a World XI?', is complete, total and utter bollocks as a definition of 'World Class'. I agree on Robertson, Gordon (he was certainly amongst the best goalkeepers in Europe for a spell) and Fletcher (who was a mainstay in an all conquering Man Utd team). Tierney, I feel has the potential, but he needs to go elsewhere to prove it I'm afraid. -

Yes of course that is subjective...I take it you agree on the definition though? -

Scotlands last genuine world class player?
ONeils40yarder replied to RobbieD's topic in Tartan Army Ramblings
Whats subjective about the leading English dictionaries, almost to a word, agreeing on the definition of something? World Class is clearly 'to be amongst the best in the World in that given field'.... ...a world-class restaurant, doesnt need to be the best in the World, but it needs to be amongst the best ...a world-class opera singer, doesnt need to be the best in the World, but he/she needs to be amongst the best ...the same goes for footballing left-backs. For what its worth, it looks to me like Marcelo is the best left-back in the World, and would be my pick for my 'World XI'...however, Robertson on current form and the current level he is performing at, should be considered as World Class...because there aren't many around that are better than him. -

There is an agreed definition... https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/world-class https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/world-class https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/world-class ...its basically, 'one of the best in the World'. -
Another great reason for Motherwell to win the Cup, saves us the bother of not having to be involved in this mind-numbing pish.

What a lot of guff man...the definition of world class isn't 'who would make it into a world XI' for a start -

'World Class' is defined in the Cambridge English Disctionary as, '...one of the best that there are of that type in the World'. The way Robertson has been playing since breaking into the Liverpool team, if he isn't World Class, then he isn't a boot in the balls off it. -

Old Firm Colts in L2
ONeils40yarder replied to AllyMonc's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
I don't back it because its a ridiculous notion, and I see no benefit at all. Added to this, most fans of non-Old Firm teams are acutely aware that they are only a couple of bad seasons away from potentially playing their own Colts team if this is given the green light. What are the 'perceived benefits'? -

I've not met a single Motherwell fan (or any other fan outside Rangers/Celtic) who thinks that 'Colt' teams in the senior league is a good idea.
