  1. Count me in Yoss. Can't afford £100 but will certainly contribute.
  2. Religious, fair enough. You can't get too upset about 'orcs' if it's in direct reference to moronic behaviour by those labelled! It might be simple but it doesn't make sense: It doesn't undermine the governing body/bodies to go outside of the sport to appeal any application of the rules you don't fancy?
  3. The wording at the bottom is fairly preposterous - making out the revenue is some cruel, merciless monster. 'Refuses to let them get away with it' would've been fairer. Obvious which market they're chasing anyway.
  4. Last time Cowden and Dumbarton were in the 1st we won it...
  5. Re: Magoo I'd say it would be ridiculous, with only 180 mins to play, to say that staying up or going down would be the difference between keeping the job and losing it. Given that he probably puts in over 40 hours of work every week, to potentially let the width of a post or a refereeing decision (which could be the difference, especially tomorrow) determine whether a job of work has been acceptable or unacceptable is laughable. Obviously that doesn't apply if we're scudded twice in miserable circumstances.
  6. It might seem disappointing that there was no avalanche of 'new' information in Thomson's report tonight, but there's definitely reason enough to feel positive. Compared to relying on the local, usual suspects to dig up anything, this well-respected, award-winning reporter seems to have none of the fear for his future that obviously hampers the local hacks. His position in the public eye has already badgered UEFA into talking to him (after he baited them on Twitter) and he will force the key players closer to accountability. He clearly understands the succulent lamb problem and has referred to it in his blog, yet is not constrained by it; he was thorough in canvassing the views of fans on all sides too. In my view this is a great step towards progress as the uncomfortable questions will be asked, and the SFA will be held to account if they do not act responsibly. There might not be new info yet, but this is a step forward from counting on 'paranoid' bloggers lacking clout. (FTOF)
  7. That had occurred to me too. Perversely I would be interested to see what happened but I don't wish any danger upon innocent folks.
  8. Just came back to post that Twitter hing but I've been beaten to it. Not true after all it seems - did mean to imply it was a rumour and nothing more, like.
  9. Just been reading that on Friday past Poppyscotland were added to the list of RFC's creditors.
  10. The Number 23 Absolutely rotten! Jim Carrey isn't even the problem really, even if he is an awkward cast in an attempt at psychological thriller. In summary, a guy bored in his job reads a novel and is convinced it's about him (leading to various events/death etc) Whole cast is utterly wooden, big plot jumps, no subtlety, script is mega naff. Drastic - avoid. 2/10
  11. The Woman in Black You know, watching a 12A, that you're not about to see blood and guts, but this was still suspenseful and I enjoyed it. There is a TV movie of the same book from 1989 which I've seen many times and really like - proper scary given that I was quite young when I first watched. This new film is apparently truer to the book. Daniel Radcliffe is slightly young for the part of the solicitor but plays it well. There is an irony in him probably trying very consciously to escape Harry Potter with this, yet ending up playing a character that by morals and 'doomed' fate is really pretty similar. As well as the horror/ghost element there is a broader family/loss type theme that is quite well evoked. Decent direction and visually pretty good. 7.5/10
  12. Any truth in the rumour that Rangers are due Burnley £500k if Lafferty plays 100 games (he's on 98)?
  13. Lemonheads playing It's A Shame About Ray, on Monday. Flying solo, which I've not done before.
  14. ...but if we have to have the North open, then we have to have it open.
  15. This comes up fairly often and usually someone says we are obligated to open it because of the Football Trust funding towards its construction.
  16. Same. Didn't think I'd make it but today learned I'm going. Last time I saw 'them' I was disappointed but now I think I've come to terms with it not being the old Pumpkins, more like a new Corgan band really - and i think some of the new stuff is really decent. My pals are supporting so naturally I would urge anyone going to go early, they are brilliant (Ringo Deathstarr).
  17. If what I'm told is true then JD effectively did several jobs at once for the club, and would be within his rights to feel a bit aggrieved. Not to imply you're having a go at him, at all.
  18. The Lovely Bones (on TV, I'm captive away from home) - 3/10 Brutal. That horrible whispery, melodramatic voiceover was nearly unbearable. I hate this kind of crap. It's actually got me quite angry.
  19. I raised this a month or two ago but I think everyone fell asleep. I'd love to see it. Effing love Laurie Ellis, I do. Apart from Ronnie's match, who was the most recent recipient of such a game? I can mind Andy Leigh's v Coventry and Dalziel's v St. Johnstone.
  20. It's not a question of gambling though, is it? What kind of team do you want to go and support?
