The crowds are pretty immaterial bronze license sets standards in a number of areas of a club’s operation not just its ground

Try telling that to the Buckie player McHardy who quite clearly thinks it was Buckie's ground which was the area of concern for them according to an article in the Sunday Post today. 🤣........................Mind you , more shame on the reporter for trying to peddle this nonsense.

It's already been said but as farcical as this play off situation has ended up, I'm surprised people weren't more vocal about how likely this was going to happen considering nobody in the league not even Brechin would have even been able to go up since the new licence measures were brought in last year.

Should also say I think the whole bronze licence requirements they've brought in are clearly too high if only east Kilbride and cumbernauld colts qualify for promotion from tier 5 and is very much more spfl gatekeeping bullshit.

This could be  Doncaster's revenge for  the HL refusing the Colts and the conference.

If so then I would wholeheartedly applaud this long-form shithousery as the best thing to happen in Scottish football since Rangers died.

Frame and hang the notifying letter of Buckie's ineligibility in the Louvre.

In your head rent free ..........for the rest of your life  Doofus.

The March 31st deadline wasn't only about licensing, it was other stuff too, Buckie couldn't have been unaware of it, the SPFL even put in bold as well as underlining it. :1eye

That is all very clear for the clubs .  Is there a reason it took until 2 days ago for the big announcement?

If the inevitable happens on Saturday then I hope Price falls on his sword after the game. He will have failed and a complete re-set will have to take place next season.

    I quite agree with that.

Not sure what more he could be doing to be honest (apart from ever winning against any good team).

He could maybe start by having faith in our strongest team and not just change it for the sake of changing. We won 5-1 a few weeks ago with probably our best display of the season . That team was dismantled for the next game.

This has been going on for the past 2 months . Is it any wonder players have lost confidence?

It's not rocket science . Just start playing your strongest team.

Will Keith/Brechin be writing another fuuuuuming joint statement about the disgraceful, jobsworth referee not giving them an extra hour and a half to shovel sand onto a flooded park to somehow create a real surface for a professional football match?

No because it was pishing down at the time of inspection as it had been for the previous 24 hours and the forecast was more rain in the afternoon you simpleton.

A quick check of the weather forecast in that area might have saved you the bother of trolling

Vale potentially putting one of the final nails in the coffin for their rivals' title bid has to feel good.

Reckon Brechin limp to the finish line, but nae danger they get near promotion unfortunately 🙁

When we got promoted to the championship under Darren Dods we finished 4th in league one having lost more games than we won . Nobody gave us a chance but we upped it for the play offs , beat Raith and Alloa to go up .

    Never say never.

Turned out to be the beginning of the end for us but it was good at the time. 🥴

If you play like that against East Kilbride (or even Clyde), you'll get skelped. See you next season.

And we'll be discussing yet another scrappy Brechin win against a Wick side who don't seem to care.

  10. 2 hours ago, Cyclizine said:

If this is supposedly the top side in the Highland League, then I don't think anyone will be fearing them in the playoffs. Brechin seem nervous, Wick don't seem to care.

    The league table doesn't lie.

When you have to win every game , of course it's going to be nervy near the end.

Of course Wick don't seem to care when there is nothing at stake other than pride.

Totally agree.  It wasn’t just late on in the game either.  They were all over us from the first minute of the second half.  For most of the time after the equaliser we were hanging on and the winner when it came had been coming.

Their number 8 got the freedom of the midfield and ran the show as we sat deeper and deeper . Why he wasn't singled out and shut down still baffles me.

It was fairly obvious that everyone had been told to just sit in and contain them for as long as we could and defend the lead.

We only had a real go at them in the last 5 mins ( the added on time )  which by then was far too late .

I think his comment about players not giving enough late on in such a big game was spot on.  I also thought his changes to the team were working well in the first half - Seth and Strachan both did well.  The manager needs to take some of the blame for the performance as well, however.  After all, it is his job to motivate the team.

That second half was a tactical disaster of which Price took no responsibility.

One thing about Kirk when things didn't go to plan was his ability to include himself in the criticisms  and explanations of what he was trying to achieve. That to me is man management as players could  see that he was as much part of the squad as they were.

I cannot believe you’re going to f**k this up.

There is a general belief  in fitba that the hardest part of the season for most championship contenders is securing those crucial final points to make it mathematically impossible to be overtaken.

You will see many teams just manage to stumble over the line or indeed blow it  in the last few games .

This is going to be one of those seasons . Loads of points to be won and dropped before April is out.

As I’ve said before, I’m not usually one for advocating getting rid of managers but I'm really struggling here.
He needs to pick a shape we play in possession, pick a shape we play out of possession and stick with a core of a team.

Last night was brutally awful. A game played in an Arboath-like wind tunnel.  Our lot  couldn't work out how to play with the wind and crapped themselves playing against it. Forres could and should have won it as they pummelled us in the last half hour .

We scored a decent goal in the 5 minute period that we managed to control the ball. After that it looked as if we were just going to settle for the 1-0 win with no real attacking ambition.  Forres then just pumped loads of balls high in the air and let the wind create the panic in our defence when it landed . Almost every time the ball was won by a Forres player who managed to lay off easily  to one of their wide guys who seemed to have the freedom of the park. It wasn't pretty but it was certainly effective.

In these conditions you sometimes have to just forget your formation football and find a way to grind out a result. We couldn't , Forres did.

We certainly need a big reaction on Saturday and maybe Price needs to swallow some pride and start playing his strongest team more regularly. We certainly don't have the quality that he thinks to be able to rotate the squad seamlessly . Get back to the basics now and learn how to win ugly .

It wasn't a generalisation. It was in fact very specific about the circumstances and requests made to the referee, which were fairly dinghied because their entire day does not in fact revolve around your braying club blazers' convenience.

Unless you are suggesting that the two clubs simply fabricated some claims to support this 'generalisation' purpose, in which case we can still file your weeks of mewling in the bin.

A very SPFL type response from someone who is making up his own narrative to suit his own ego.

  16. 5 hours ago, virginton said:

Except that none of the first three claims tally with anything in your own club's statement. Make your mind up about what exactly you're still throwing your toys out of the pram about.

We were sitting in the pub at Keith  when ,  around 2.15pm  - 2.30pm , the announcement was relayed to us .

The club statement was obviously and most probably  a diplomatic generalisation of the events.  The main thing they wanted to stress was that an official complaint was being lodged. I am sure a full and accurate report would have been sent.

    Price has fucked this team.

Yes we won 5-1 yesterday but it wasn’t convincing,we don’t look or play as a team ,playing as individuals instead, players look lost at the way Price wants them to play and just please themselves now with Price on the touchline not a happy man.

The player I feel sorry for is Grady to go from top goalscorer and highland league player of last season,to a long lost figure yesterday,he looked lost up front,he needs his confidence back but won’t get that with Price in charge..Just as well the chasing teams are making it easy for us.

I take it you left after 15 minutes.

That was as convincing as we have been in a while once we got going. Could and should have been about 8 or 9 in the end.

Nice try, but your loveably crafted dialogue betrays the reality that an area of the pitch was indeed waterlogged - hence the need to  'treat' it as confirmed by the joint club statement. And if both clubs were so confident that the 'soggy' area of the pitch was playable, then requesting a fully 90 minute delay to anyone with better things to do with the remainder of their weekend than placating a bunch of braying club blazers was an utterly moronic strategy.

The more generous interpretation is that both clubs knew fine well that the pitch was not in fact playable at 3pm, hence 1) the need for treatment 2) the extensive delay requested and 3) the otherwise non-sequitur reference to the weather forecast (which if the pitch was already playable, would be irrelevant).

    Very straightforward stuff tbh.

    Here's another scenario .

    1. The ref only bothered to turn up at 2.pm.

    2. The ref then called the game off at 2.15pm.

    3. The ref was nowhere to be seen at 3.00pm

    4. The ref just wasn't interested and should be handed his arse on a plate.

  19. 14 hours ago, virginton said:

So why did both sets of players management and club officials request fully ninety minutes to apply treatment to areas of an already playable park?

The point that you're claiming has also been missed out from the tear-drenched, joint club statement, which confirms to any rational observer that it is in fact total bollocks.

Your posts are starting to  descend to the bigoted drivel you used to spout when we were in the SPFL..
