  1. Wonder whether some supporters will have discovered a life without live football and decide not to come back? either in, say for sake of argument, April or May or next autumn if this season is scrubbed. I think a few will stay away. I will go back but I haven’t been lying on my bed weeping in despair between 15.00 - 17.00 every Saturday with nothing to do. What do we recon?
  2. Yeah, nobody in or around London capable of commentating. Absolutely essential the fly the numpty from Scotland to London
  3. I think he meant ligature After watching last nights morton v Dunfermline ‘football match’ on TV I’m thinking Dunfermline manager keen to keep playing to see if they can score a goal before may? shut the league down now
  4. Championship getting 500k and allowed to decide whether they continue? Premier league is rather mediocre and the other 3 leagues are all diddy leagues. Why are we treating Alloa, Arbroath, morton, Dunfermline (did you see that eye bleeding ‘product’ last night?) as if they were juventus or Real Madrid? close it down, put us all out of our misery
  5. Authorities are writing to championship clubs to see whether they want to play on - according to bbc website. wonder how Arbroath will vote? Hearts? you couldn’t make it up In future if a player punches another in the face the referee will write to the perpetrator to ask if he would like to be sent off. Leading from the front
  6. a ritual sacrifice? what ritual did the decision makers practice? chanting in an ancient meso-american language? taking hallucinogenic drugs made from plant roots to promote altered mental states? wearing robes made from bird feathers? I don't think you mean ritual sacrifice do you? sacrifice quite possible but not ritual .......... (unless you mean the ritual involving handshakes and rolled up trouser legs ........... maybe you got something there)
  7. Unavoidable the premier league and championship being treated differently presumably because they are full time, players not mixing with people in other jobs and maybe they have resources for regular testing (is that happening - anybody...?) even so the way it is being done doesn’t feel right. Celtic haven’t done football’s reputation any good (I suppose their defenders at least have been social distancing during games) and footballers being what they are I’m sure we will be reading about raith rovers and hearts players breaking social distancing rules in really stupid ways. Should have been all pausing not just lower divisions
  8. Stirling and Brechin fans might think their clubs are doing a great job. I’m sure they are trying really hard and fair play to them but there’s a viral pandemic sweeping the world and the only things that will conquer it are: time, vaccines (and/or herd immunity from those infected) and EXTREME social measures - far beyond what football clubs are doing
  9. I’m not sure about the idea that lower league clubs in Scotland have better protocols than lower league teams in England. The new variant is spreading northwards and I wouldn’t be surprised if more players and officials in Scotland get the virus in coming weeks. Hope I’m wrong but we could see more and more games off and football struggling under the weight of this or government moves to shut football down in response. It’s week to week now I recon. looks like the football authorities may not have a plan b for dealing with a prematurely ended season. Hope that’s wrong - can we all face 6 months of Hearts and Kelly hearts denied promotion, Brechin automatically demoted after playing a handful of games, rangers denied the league, celtic moving to Middle East permanently. Am I wrong - have plans been put in place? maybe this season should have been 2 rounds of games instead of 3, with no league cup and every 3rd or 4th Saturday left empty as spare weeks to allow for cancelled games being rearranged - in the lower leagues anyway. Hey ho, c’est la vie
  10. Having been unable / unwilling to watch warriors play on the feeds that are provided I’m wondering who our best 3 attackers are if all are healthy. I’m assuming a fit Hopkirk’s name would be right on the team sheet? what about muir v mcguigan? Could it be that neither play and biabi or spence be the central attacker - maybe more of a false 9 with hopkirk and a.n. other cutting in from wider positions. So many questions, so few answers, so much time on my hands, so many forwards festooning our squad, so tell me ......
  11. I feel the same way. Sure we ain’t the only ones. Seeing my season ticket money as a gift to the club since I have given up on the camera system entirely. Who knows maybe we will see the team live at the end of the season. Anything is possible from season abandoned to supporters in the ground in April or so. Fingers crossed
  12. What do we know about hopkirk and Kane’s availability?
  13. Sorry but I can’t watch and listen to that. Gave up at half hour mark. Highlight of the first half was the camera following a white plastic bag being blown around in the wind whilst the play was in the other half. That’s okay at the filmhouse or Glasgow film theatre, very Ingmar Bergman, existential angst and all that. Maybe we should enter the turner prize. Warriors were absolutely honking. Surprised but very glad we turned it round. McGuigan for muir please
  14. Well done the bbc website. Says warriors 3-1 winners but only gives times and scorers for 2nd and 3rd goals. Assist for 1st goal listed. When I go through the text updates I learn that spence scored it - oddly he isn’t listed as playing on the site mmmh
  15. Kane not a defensive midfielder? Waters not a forward - is he being converted?
  16. Rumours of personal probs and not his best season but we did seem to bench him rather quickly. Rumours of him going elsewhere but without wanting to tempt fate not gone yet. He was on 2 year contract - this is year 2 isn’t it? He looks better than Muir from my limited viewing. I hope he stays and does well am I right in saying we only have 3 defenders on our books? Tiffoney, Munro, little ? i wonder how loans will work this season - more easy/ more going about, harder, fewer going about or same as ever? Hard to imagine it being easier
  17. Tapping looked good. Thought Babi and mcguigan looked fairly sharp. Generally very very poor but too soon to panic. I recon Munro is a real liability. Distribution awful - why just not make whoever is the other central defender the guy to give the ball to? More important that this however is his tendency to make several defensive howlers every game. He puffs his chest out and shouts a lot and that fools people. He is a very poor defender. I would have been happy to see him leave at the end of the season
  18. VPN??? I think watching a VPL in stenny Asda for 5 minutes will be better than spending a year watching Scottish second division football on a smart phone or iPad. Surely if covid still around we can ban away fans and space out very very very widely in stand, terrace and behind other goals. Attend games in person but be as widely spaced as cattle ranchers living in Wyoming. If we have 2 years between real supporters at the game matches goodness knows what will come out of this
  19. That is a strange sentence (grammatically, not punitively but then again,,,)
  20. So you want a team of 11 x 35 year olds on the pitch? You don’t want a mix of experienced players to steady the ship and use their nouse and younger players to be the teams “legs”. Squad is turned over to large extent each year and club can’t afford 3-4 year contracts but you wouldn’t want players with a few years left in the tank to allow you the chance of some continuity. You wouldn’t want that dumbo?
  21. We have had months of ad solute crap to put up with. Colts, hearts hearts hearts. Is it impossible to get budge to leave it. Can nobody draw a line under this? What are the sfa and spfl doing? They are a national embarasment - they should be using their own money to provide clubs with security - it's not as if they are penniless. They should be looking for other sources of money. What are they doing/ saying about covid testing? What is their position/the options for closed door games, safe "hubs"? All we get is loony tunes reconstruction drivel in typical fashion. they are totally inadequate. Scottish football is like a ship without a rudder. Lots of sports in lots of countries are facing uncertainty but they aren't running around like headless chickens spouting bizarre nonsense over and over finally - thanks to the guy for £2 million but do Celtic and rangers really need £50k. TV money isn't shared equally so who should rescue money be shared equally. Actually here's a thought - share all tv money equally amongst all 42 clubs for next 4 years. Don't worry Ann, just a temporary thing, just a temporary thing
  22. So the pyramid system is over now .... You can just buy a place in the spfl? i have a bad feeling this might happen. The first budge attempt failed resoundinglyand swiftly but this time round it's getting drawn out. It was weird that there was such a firm "no" to reconstruction and they were back in there straight away. "No" means maybe? I hope I'm wrong about this. Whats going on behind closed doors? I don't know whether to be angry or embarrassed.
