  1. Lyle Taylor just scored to put AFC Wimbledon 1-0 up against Derek Adams' Plymouth in the League Two playoff final.
  2. Balatoni strolled the 1st division with us, he'd be some signing for Ayr. To think it was only a year ago his agent was filling his head with nonsense about playing abroad.
  3. http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2015-2016/may_2016/colin_weir_becomes_first_ever_patron_of_partick_thistle It reads more like it's a thank you to him rather than something we're getting extra cash for. Could've just named the bing after him if it's just a gesture.
  4. Main stand being renamed the Colin Weir Stand. No harm to the guy and I'm sure he's put a few quid in but surely the club can come up with someone more fitting of having a stand named after them than Colin Weir?
  5. I'd heard the squad were going down somewhere near Bath so that'd make sense. . It would be better if we could organise the English friendlies for Saturdays like Blyth and Durham were. Eastleigh was a decent day out but was really a waste of 2 days holiday.
  6. The only thing I'd put in Higgy's favour if he was to come back is that the form of his career at this level thus far came at a time where we also had Erskine on loan from Dundee Utd and Archie might think he's worth a punt on that basis but I'd rather we looked elsewhere. I'd also expect if Frans joins Seaborne in leaving we'd ideally be looking at someone with a bit of experience to partner Lindsay. The thought of Balatoni coming back to partner Lindsay is terrifying.
  7. It's also saved us a fortune not having to build a 4th stand to accommodate the masses of Falkirk fans.
  8. I hope he does. I'm off to the Italy game next week so that means I can relive an away day at Dingwall by standing behind the goals and abusing him.
  9. Fox got called up with us too, it's hardly Ross County's reputation that has somehow got him a call up he otherwise wouldn't have got but aye batter in with dragging up a post from a year ago.
  10. After being heated about the constitution being available to fans and talking about splinter groups and agendas did Greig Brown take any time to explain exactly why this version of fan engagement was going to work when the supporters federation and TAG were both a complete shambles? The fact there were only two dozen folk there is down to the club rather than the fans. There's no point in turning up to be told about the club's great ideas until they actually do something to show the support they are actually serious about implementing them. The fact it was on a Wednesday night after the season had ended when the initial announcement of the Trust's formation was back on the 24th February and there's been numerous matchdays they could have held such an event on when it could have been better attended speaks volumes about their genuine concern about actually getting fans involved.
  11. If it raises any money at all then I guess the club will deem it a success. I feel these types of funds work when starting from a point of crisis like happened at Hearts where the money raised from direct debits has been a huge success. Just "give us some extra cash for some players" doesn't really have the same impact. Can't fault the club for trying to milk as much money out of the fans as they can but it essentially seems to be the Centenary Fund without the prizes.
  12. I'd play Fraser over Welsh tbh. They both lose the ball fairly often but at least you get a decent range of passing from Fraser in return, whilst not prolific he'll chip in with a few goals over the season compared to Welsh and he's still only 21 with plenty of time to work on his deficiencies. Ideally we'll get a replacement in for Bannigan who is solid enough defensively but can still get forward so we don't need to go with 3 central midfielders all season again with Fraser and Welsh providing back up. That means we can go with 3 attacking midfielders in Erskine, Amoo and one of Edwards or someone like Nesbitt if they come back. Nesbitt was in the pub on Saturday and said he'd like to come back and get some games but I expect he'd say that regardless.
  13. We should just f**k defending and just play Penrice since we'll score on average at least 2 from his set pieces per game.
  14. Papers have St Johnstone in for Paton, not that I think we'd sign him but that should please those who had a horrible feeling Archie might want him back.
  15. I bought mine early last season because of the early bird discount then they just kept extending it until pretty much just before the season started anyway so I'll probably just pick mine up in August and throw a complete strop if they don't extend the early bird prices this year.
  16. He didn't get banned until September this season but he was long gone from the squad by that point. Have we been hampered much more than other teams by injury and suspensions? We've shitfested most of the season regardless of who was fit tbh.
  17. There's a Partick Thistle Trust open evening on Wed 18th May http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2015-2016/may_2016/partick_thistle_football_club_trust_open_meeting It's open to 'all Partick Thistle suppporters' but the club in their earlier article on the website about the new Trust define a supporter as.... http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2015-2016/february_2016/partick_thistle_football_club_trust_opens_for_business So does that mean the only people welcome at their meeting are over 18s who have had a season ticket for the last 3 seasons?
  18. Terrifying that Beattie is talking about challenging for top 6 next season when we aren't actually safe this season.
  19. Apart from seeming like he suffered from a brain injury any time he tweeted I quite liked him. I'd sign him if we get the chance.
  20. I wouldn't swap Cerny for any of the keepers below him so I think 3rd is fair enough for him, some of the other positions seem a bit dodgy though.
