He has a reasonable scoring record down south, certainly a lot better than Taylor's English record before joining us. The only major concern is Kilmarnock having him on trial and appearing to choose Eccleston over him. I take it that unless he improves and/or proves himself again in the u20s that's Gary Fraser pretty much finished considering with Wilson coming on before him yesterday means he's effectively our 5th choice central midfielder.

Tell Him He's Pele's podcast with John Gemmell is really good. Not much about his time at Thistle but he mentions scoring a hat trick in a bounce game for the reserves v the first team and then Campbell telling him he had no future at the club later that day. He also mentioned signing for us over Dundee Utd on the basis we offered a 2 year deal. Not the best example since he was never a Premier League striker but demonstrates how we can compete in the transfer market even if we don't have the biggest budget yet the majority of our squad are out of contract at the end of the season.

Last season he scored 10 goals in 1973 minutes, which is just shy of 22 full games on the pitch. The goal stats don't seem to back up that he isn't suited to playing as a lone striker.

Firstly jagfox's 6 week patter is horrendous, it was only mildly funny about a year ago. Secondly I really don't get anyone praising Wilson in any of his senior games so far. I've been impressed with him at u20 level but even in friendlies he seems to try and over-complicate things or turn back on himself.

Dumbarton fans will be better placed to judge him at your level. He looked excellent at u20s level when he wasn't injured and scored plenty of goals but doesn't seem to be able to replicate his goalscoring form when out on loan.

Gary Miller in his interview saying his son plays for Thistle Weir, is he local? I'd always just assumed he was from the east based on who he's played for in the past.

With Miller in I'd be happy now if we just signed a striker. Miller can cover the other positions across the back if we're stretched by injury and giving the young boys a chance doesn't work out. I quite like the new top, I tend to like away tops that are 'non-Thistle'. The grey and pink training gear and tracksuit is decent too, shame you have to buy the full tracksuit from TTL as I'd probably pick up the jacket on its own.

This thread would've been hilarious if we signed Christian Nade and Chris Turner and it'd be the same people who are greetin' about no signings who'd be the worst for it too.

I go when they are evening games at Firhill at the start of the season but it gets difficult when they start moving them to Airdrie in the middle of the afternoon as soon as the pitches deteriorate. Once it gets to that stage the highlights on the official website are actually the one good thing behind the TAG paywall. SLJ gets to most of the games although I wouldn't fancy him getting a job as a scout after he wrote off Nisbet's chances of doing much at East Stirling before he couldn't stop scoring in his first few games.

I think we've won 1, the one at Inverness with the corner decision. We must have the worst record in televised games in Scotland or at least in the top couple of divisions.

Only the Celtic game moved for TV in fixtures up until the end of October for us. Now Sunday 9th August 12.30pm kick off. Aberdeen at home will be the Sunday too if Aberdeen beat Rijeka and then get through v Kairat.

TBF to him he's just been daft enough to say it to the media unlike ours who wanked himself silly over the prospect of the Old Firm coming to Firhill in a statement on our official site in May about chucking home fans out of the Jackie Husband Stand to accommodate them. Fast forward 2 weeks and Motherwell have skelped Rangers and ruined his dream.
